From the President
Sid Rath
“It’s fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure” – Bill Gates
Monday, August 19, 2019. All forty-nine of us moved into the third floor of Wissler in Teter Quadrangle. Most of us didn’t know each other and were anxious to get our college careers started. We were quickly introduced to each other and immediately made friendships that would last us a lifetime.
Fast forward two semesters and look where we are now! From cramming calculus to playing with virtual reality, from attending INFO-Y101/Y102 class (yeah I know, it was early) to eating Tacos with Tréon, we have all grown tremendously from the person that had moved into the LLC. The time that we have all spent together and the memories that we have created will always hold a special place in all of our hearts. The friendships, knowledge, and memories that we have gained were all some of the benefits that came with living in the LLC. We have all had our ups and downs, however when we walk across the stage and get our diplomas, one of the definite highlights of my college experiences will be living in the Luddy LLC.
All the events and experiences that I have cherished this academic year, could not have been possible without each and every one of you. I thank you for electing me as your President. Having the opportunity to meet all of you and share our experiences has been one of my favorite memories of freshman year. When applying to live in the LLC, I had no idea what I was signing myself up for. I didn’t know how many people were going to live on the floor and how my experience was going to be, however I can honestly and proudly say that this LLC has given me more than I could have ever imagined, and that is all because of every single one of you. The acronym “LLC” stands for Living Learning Center. Till the day I die, I will always disagree with what this acronym stands for. It should stand for Living Learning Community. We have all spent so much time with each other that we have built our own community. Even though the year didn’t end the way that we pictured it (thanks COVID-19), the quality of time that we have all spent together will far surpass the quantity of time that we spent together.
Once again, thank you all for an incredible freshman year! This isn’t goodbye, it’s a see you later, Triple C’s!
Signing off,
Sid Rath
Luddy LLC President Class of 2023

I would say a quote to summarize the year would simply be, 'Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.'
-Winston S. Churchill. Thank you Triple C's for
a great year!!

Luddy LLC
Synopsis of Mission
College marks the beginning of a new life for many, with the opportunity to create and determine the future of one’s choosing. Opportunities like these occur periodically in one’s lifetime, but the college experience is by and large one of the most challenging, rewarding, and memorable one will have the pleasure of having. The Luddy Living Learning Center (LLC) provides first-year students who love technology—including informatics, computer science, and intelligent systems engineering majors, plus other IU freshman— with the opportunity to live together and participate in a program that gives them an edge at IU and beyond. The Luddy LLC helps individuals transition to college, succeed academically, develop their career skills, connect with people at Luddy and employers, and make friends who will support and challenge them throughout their life.
Leadership, integrity, and community exist as the pillars of this community, ideals instilled in Luddy LLC members throughout the year. Through development projects, class instruction, networking, community events, and engaging staff members, these are ideals made possible for community members. This is the third cohort of living learning center history.
Our time at the Luddy LLC marked the beginning of our collegiate careers, provided us with an experience we would never forget, and left us determined to leave our mark on the future and community. This yearbook serves as a reminder of our great time during the IU Bicentennial Year, a year cut too short by Covid-19. We are Triple C forever!

Welcome Week!
Week 1: Welcome week marked the beginning of a year filled of unforgettable memories. As incoming collegiate students, we sought to make IU our home, and with people who would eventually become family.
13

Game Nights
Some of the earliest memories made in the LLC was during our late game nights. Whether this was playing Jackbox, competing on Super Smash Bros Ultimate, or playing card, these game nights provided an opportunity for everyone to connect and relax from studies..
14

Tacos with Treon & Tea with Tiana
Treon loves cooking along with people, and thus Tacos with Treon was born. This monthly event allowed members of the LLC to come down to the Kitchen and enjoy tacos made by Isaiah Hudson, Xandria McDowell, and our very on Treon McClendon.
Tiana's love and care for members of the LLC was unmatched. Tea with Tiana allowed for students to get to know her on a personal level monthly, an opportunity we are extroadinarily greatful for.
15

Halloween & Pumpkin Carving
One of the greatest student-planned events, hosted & primarily organized by Michaela Krawczyk and the Leadership Council, was the Halloween Party. This event saw students play Kahoot, make caramelized apples, enjoy a delicious dinner with friends and staff, and end the night watching a Halloween movie.
16

Hackathon
Technica
17

Technica Hackathon
The Technica Women's Hackathon, hosted in Maryland, was an experience for the amazing women of our LLC to immerse themselves with talented, like minded women in an events which cultivated and promotes women in computing.
18

Luddy
Winter Formal
19

Winter Formal
The final, and most successful event of the 2019 year, came during our Winter Formal. With the majority of LLC members, friends, past members, and staff in attendance, we had the chance for some fun before our finals. We witnessed, Treon's amazing dance moves, along with Sam's, played some poker, got to see our esteemed President Sid Rath showcase his DJ skills, and enjoyed each others company in a night a fun.
20

Fireside Chats &
Dish n' Dines
An experience unique to LLC members is the opportunity to learn, connect, and network with employers and faculty through fireside chats and dish n' dines. Students enjoyed food while learning from those knowledgeable in their field of interests. Members were catered to in a smaller setting. Connections are everything!
21

Martin Luther King Jr. March
DJ Nash organized a Dr. Martin Luther King March Jr. Day March. This was a peaceful demonstration inclusive of students, faculty, and the Bloomington community members. Members of the Bloomington and IU communities marched down 7th Street shouting, "Believe it, Dream it, Do it." Following, the march had a reception in the Indiana Memorial Union. More than 100 people were in attendance commemorating Dr. King
