CHRISTMAS TOWN USA

In 1956, a few members of the McAdenville Men’s Club had an idea that would
transform the town of McAdenville and bring hundreds of thousands to share in a
special holiday tradition. It all began with a few strands of lights. The men proposed
decorating around the McAdenville Community Center in honor of the holiday. With
the support of William Pharr, the president of Pharr Fibers and Yarns at the time, plus a
little decorating advice from his wife, Catherine, the men decorated nine trees.

The sight was so charming the town decided

to repeat the tradition—every year since THE SIGHT WAS SO CHARMING
