A sick day for Amos McGee

Storybook

AMOS MCGEE was a person who always woke up early in
the morning. Every morning when the alarm clock rang,
he swung his leg out of the bed, took off his pajamas and
put on a freshly ironed uniform for 10 minutes.

After that, he would wear his watch and set
a pot of water to boil then saying to the
sugar bowl, “take a spoon for my oatmeal,
please, and two for my teacup.”

When he is prepared well and ready for
the workday, he will walk out to the door
slowly and he will have a gray-and-white
briefcase in his hand.

AMOS waited for the number five bus every day . When the bus driver
arrived, “Next stop, City Zoo,” the bus driver would say. “6 am. Right on
time,” he looked at the watch and replied to the bus driver.

Amos had a lot of things to do at
the zoo, but he won’t forget his
good friends and always made
time to visit them.

He would play chess with the elephant

(who thought it many times before making a move)

Run races with the tortoise

(who never ever get lost)

Sit and accompanied with the penguin quietly

(who was very shy and did not talked too much)

Lend his handkerchief to the rhinoceros and help him to wipe his nose

(who sensitive and always had a runny nose)

Sit under the tree and read stories to the owl at sunset

(who was afraid of the dark)

One day, Amos had sniffles, sneezes
and chills when he woke up. “Ugh,” he
moaned as he swung his aching legs
out of bed, curled them back up, and
swung them back in. “I'm not sure I'll
go to work today.”

The elephant arranged his pawns
and thought a lot of tactics that
it feel can win Amos

The penguin sat patiently The owl sat atop a tall stack
and looked around. He was of books, scratching his
looking for someone else head with some concern,
but the man did not “Where is the man who
appear. always reads stories to me?”

The tortoise limbered up by The rhinoceros worried that
stretching his legs and his allergies were worsening
waited for his race opponent. but no one helped him to wipe
his nose.







“Hooray! My good friends are here!”
Amos was surprised by his friends.

The elephant prepared a game
of chess and a lot of tactics
to win against Amos. This time,
the person who thought about
it many times before making a
move is Amos.

“I am too tired to run races with you today,” said Amos to the tortoise.

The tortoise replied to Amos, “Nevermind, we can just play hide and seek instead today. I
am going to win you again although it is not run race. ”

“ Sure, let’s play!” said Amos.

The tortoise hid inside his shell. Amos hid beneath the covers with his blue
blanket.

The penguin sat quietly beside Amos and always made sure the
blacket covered Amos’s feet to keep it warm.

The penguin did not notice the balloon was floating out of his hand and kept
rubbing his eyes. He was very distressed because he saw Amos sick and he
cannot help Amos with anything.

They sat beside the blue kitchen ventilator and chatted with
each other while enjoying their tea.

The owl who knew that his
friend, Amos was afraid of
the dark too. He read a
story aloud before turning
out the light.

After story time, Amos
looked at his alarm clock
and said “It is getting late.”

So Amos said good night to the elephant.
And good night to the tortoise
And good night to the owl
And good night to the rhinoceros
And good night to the penguin, who stared at the
moon and guarded them to sleep.
