EXTRACURRICULAR
ACTIVITIES
Engineering students enjoy various extracurricular activities
all year round. There are several academic clubs, sport clubs, and
social clubs that any students may join. During the regular
semester, a number of sporting events within Faculty of
Engineering and within the university are also available, including
the annual CU-TU traditional football game. Chula ISE students
have also their own clubs, ranging from academic clubs in
NANO program (SPIE & OSA) to innovation and invention clubs in
ICE program (Thinc.) and AERO program (Design/Build/Fly),
and ADME-V program (CU Racing Electric)

University level (such as, Peking University, China,
Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany, During the third year of study, students must complete
Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, a 280-hour industrial training during June-July in
KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden) and Faculty level either national or international organization.
(Dartmouth College, USA, Linköping University, Sweden, ISE students have undertaken research training
Politecnico di Milano, Italy, IPSA, France, National Taiwan at national laboratories, such as, NANOTEC, MTEC,
University, Taiwan). It aims to create opportunities for our NECTEC, BIOTEC, as well as world class research
students to participate in exchange programs for 1-2 laboratories. Students can receive advice from
semesters abroad. ISE will subsidize the travel expense to the faculty sta to choose an organization that
full time students up to 30,000 THB per student. Simultaneously, suits their interests and bene ts their future careers.
foreign students from our partner universities can also take
part in exchange programs at Chula ISE, which are great
opportunity for them to learn about Thai cultures as well
as academic experience at Chulalongkorn University.
AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN AND
MANUFACTURING, AND ELECTRIC
VEHICLE ENGINEERING
(ADME-V)
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
With the strong growth of automotive industries in Asia, accounted for 60% of global automotive
industries, the current and upcoming activities require engineers with multi-engineering knowledge
and skills with international communication capability. Furthermore, Thailand is an automotive hub of
the region. As the manufacturing grows and other automotive activities such as design and
development continue to accelerate, so does the demand for quali ed engineers within the region.
The Automotive Design and Manufacturing, and Electric Vehicle Engineering (ADME-V) program
o ers a new dimension of multi-disciplinary courses pro ling from automotive engineering,
mechanical engineering, engineering design, manufacturing, regulation, electric and autonomous
vehicles, and management.
The graduates from our ADME-V program will be equipped with multi engineering knowledge and
skills much-needed for automotive assembling, part and component manufacturing, and other
supporting industries. ADME-V program has a well-established relationship with many automobile
manufacturers, and some of the classes are conducted in collaboration with them to develop
students’ industrial expertise. Students may choose to concentrate in the eld which suits them the
most, ranging from automotive design to manufacturing.
THE FUTURE OF AUTOMOTIVE MOBILITY.
AEROSPACE ENGINEERING
(AERO)
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Global air travel is expanding at an unprecedented pace, prompting the foundation of many new
commercial airlines in Southeast Asia, and setting a stage for the new era of commercial supersonic
ight. At the same time, local air travel in the urban area is being transformed by the new concept
of urban air mobility (UAM). Unmanned aircraft system (UAS) has also emerged with endless
real-world applications from urban parcel delivery to precision farming. Meanwhile, space
technology has become a key role in future country’s development and is required for advance
strategic defense, satellite technologies or even space exploration.
To cope with this fast-growing demand in the aerospace industry, our Aerospace Engineering
program, initially developed by a collaboration of Chulalongkorn University and the Royal Thai Air
Force, is tailor-made with strong academic focal points on the emerging aerospace technologies.
It is our ultimate goal to produce highly trained aerospace engineers with outstanding theoretical
and practical skills who will be a part of the solution of our future.
ARE YOU A HIGH FLYER?
INFORMATION AND
COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING
(ICE)
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Information and Communication Engineering (ICE) program is an exciting and promising
integration of computer engineering, electrical engineering, and industrial engineering. Students
will learn the fundamental of computing and coding, acquire advanced telecommunication skills,
and achieve a solid foundation in management science. The diverse combination of courses will
prepare our graduates for the stimulating challenges of the IT world.
ICE program trains students to become expert programmers, or to serve the global community with
IT architecture for corporate enterprises, software on mobile devices, satellite communications,
game programming, computer networking, and software engineering, just to name a few. This
discipline is strengthened with the appreciation of management science, which propels students’
competency to the international level.
ICE IS YOUR FUTURE.
NANO ENGINEERING
(NANO)
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
At a sub-microscopic level, the physical, chemical, and biological properties of materials are quite
distinct from those of larger scale bulk matter. Uncovering these unique characteristics spurs the
development of novel applications and groundbreaking research that is already making Nano
Engineering the next industrial revolution. Medicine, plastic, materials research, and
high-performance electronics are just some of the many areas in which development on the
nanoscale is becoming a major force for technological improvement.
Nano Engineering is a multidisciplinary program that ingrains in students the basics (physics,
chemistry, and biology) and the applied (chemical, electrical, optical, biomedical, and materials
engineering at the atomic level). The program aims to produce undergraduates who are
knowledgeable in the fundamental building blocks of nanotechnology through the two majors
including Bioengineering major and Advanced materials engineering major. The graduates from
this program can be relied upon for their strong scienti c knowledge, practical engineering skills
and e ective management skills required to lead organizations into the ever-increasing
competitive world.
THE “INFINITE” POSSIBILITIES
ROBOTICS AND ARTIFICIAL
INTELLIGENCE ENGINEERING
(ROBOTICS AI)
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Robotics and arti cial intelligence engineering is an interdisciplinary engineering eld that combines
the principles of mechanical, electrical, computer, system, mechatronics, robotics and arti cial
intelligent elds. This program enhances students’ learning beyond the classroom through various
project-based courses which creatively integrate the knowledges of key components such as sensors,
actuators, mechanisms, control, and machine learning. Subsequently, students will experience robotic
mechanism, programming, control, and arti cial intelligence in the advanced projects in which they
will combine the key components into a complete robotic system.
Robotics and arti cial intelligence engineering program provides students with the basis of robotics
engineering and a deep understand of the system integration. Students will have a holistic view of
the robotic system. They can gain various specialties in robotic mechanism, control, machine learning,
and arti cial intelligence.
