Primary Worksheets: Volcanoes
A volcano is a mountain. It has an
opening that leads to a pool of molten
rock from below the surface of the Earth.
Volcanos can erupt if enough pressure
builds up. Lava and hot ash will flow out
from the volcano, causing a lot of
damage to whatever comes in contact.
Primary Worksheets: Volcanoes
There are many active volcanoes on
Earth. Some are on land and some are
under the ocean. Volcanoes have
been on the Earth for thousands of
years.
The largest volcano is Mauna Loa in
Hawaii. When measured from its base
below sea level to the top of it, it is
bigger than Mount Everest, the largest
mountain in the world.
