National Standards For Community Engagement

1. Involvement: we will identify and involve the people and organisations
who have an interest in the focus of the engagement

2. Support: we will identify and overcome any barriers to involvement

3. Planning: we will gather evidence of the needs and available
resources and use this evidence to agree the purpose, scope and
timescale of the engagement and the actions to be taken

4. Methods: we will agree and use methods of engagement that are fit for
purpose

5. Working Together: we will agree and use clear procedures that
enable the participants to work with one another effectively and
efficiently

6. Sharing Information: we will ensure that necessary information is
communicated between the participants

7. Working With Others: we will work effectively with others with an
interest in the engagements

Outline of Duties

1. Contribute to the Angus Community Planning Partnership’s implementation of
the Local Government in Scotland Act 2003.

2. Implement, monitor and evaluate the Partnership’s Regeneration Activities in
Arbroath and Area and contribute to the development, implementation and
monitoring of the Regeneration Outcome Agreement and of the Social Inclusion
Strategy.

3. Support the process of local community planning across all partner agencies in
Arbroath and Area, making meaningful links with the Regeneration Outcome
Agreement where appropriate.

4. Support the work of the Arbroath and Area Partnership.

5. Co-ordinate community engagement activity within Arbroath and Area ensuring
communities are involved in the development, delivery and monitoring of the
Regeneration Outcome Agreement where appropriate.

6. Manage the Regenerate! North Arbroath project and its staff.

7. Develop productive working relationships with the Cliffburn Regeneration Worker.

8. Provide support to Angus Council’s lead officer in Arbroath in terms of community
planning, and liaison with local elected members of the council.

9. Contribute to the Community Planning Progress Report and Review activity and
ensure actions are identified in partnership, implemented and monitored.

10. Ensure appropriate linkages with Angus wide community planning activity.

This list is not exhaustive and the jobholder will be required to undertake other
duties as required.
