1 EXECUTIVE
SUMMARY

“ 12 years after my own recovery I co-
founded the House. I knew better than
most what worked and what didn’t. I
spent years in the Hopkins County Jail
giving encouragement to those
women. I’d participated and
supported 12-step recovery. But there
had to be a transition program that
bridges ladies from there to here.
That’s where WTRH started.”

― Rita Miller
Co-Founder and Administrator,
Women’s Triangle Recovery House

2016 ANNUAL REPORT

FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR:

I’d like to welcome you to our premiere issue of our Annual
Report. We’ve produced this because we want to give our
partners more information about us, as well as wanting to
present ourselves to the non-profit Watchdog
Organizations to prove our goodstanding.

In 2016 we celebrated our fifth year having housed 47
women during this time. That might seem slightly
insignigicant. But it’s not. 47 women are 47 families. 47
families are in neighborhoods. 47 neighborhoods make up
a city. And when you reach the extended families of those
47 women, well, you see we reached clearly across our
great country.

We’re very grateful for our leadership on our Board of Rita Miller, Co-Founder

Directors as well as those who serve our committees. Administrator,

Women’s Triangle Recovery House

We’re grateful for the open city gates with leaders like Mayor David Jackson, Judge Executive Donnie

Carrol, County Attorney Bryon Hopgood, Jailer Joe Blue, Chief of Police Wade Williams, Chris Crowley

with ACE2, and every other church and civic leader in Madisonville, KY where we operate the Women’s

Triangle Recovery House.

We’re also grateful to area treatment centers, the Court System in surrounding counties and even
reaching down into Tennessee, the Drug Court System, Probation and Parole, and to every phone call of
enquiry or referral for our prospect residents.

The theme for this report is Homing in on Going Home. While our women are our guests, they are
required to become masters of accountability and responsibility. This means that they become

responsible for their life situations through their own actions while solving their problems. Homing in”

requires focus and foundation. Going Home” requires completion of six months of growth and

readiness to maintain their reasonalbe goals. Goals include a spiritual tract; educational tract;
employment tract; life skill tract (eg. improving communication, setting boundaries); and when
appropriate, parenting skills tract. Of course, they receive Recovery Education Training, counseling, and
therapy.

Finally, we are quite proud of our volunteer army which served in 2016. Our stats, numbers, and service
hours show that Women’s Triangle Recovery House is a fine service organization. Without our
volunteers, we wouldn’t be nearly this healthy.

Thank you everyone for being like our community homing pigeons.” Your messaging out into the
community; your willingness to return home to help our women in all the ways you do...your
faithfulness toward this mission is noticed and appreciated. And to every lady who Homes in with us

until she can Go Home...’come on, come in, our doors are always open.

2 KRISTA’S
TESTIMONY

" You can’t wipe away beauty.
You can wipe away smears and
smut and tears and caked on
lies. But you just can’t wipe
away beauty because it’s
buried in each one of us. My job
now is to help people bring
their beauty out.”

― Krista Lynn Davis,

Licensed Aesthetician

3 MICHELE’S
MIRACLE

”There comes a point when you
gotta love yourself. You
eventually bottom out and
become emotionally and
spiritually bankrupt by giving to
everybody but yourself. And all
that emptiness can’t be filled with
drugs, alcohol, or personal
deprivation.
I’m still learning to love myself.”

Line Manager, Tyson’s

4 MISSION &
MEANS

“When I was released from jail, I
was essentially homeless. I met a
woman at WTRH and she and her
daughter became my family.
You want to see a turnaround story?
I came in as a guest... and I
eventually became a house
monitor.

― Melissa Barber,

Interim House Monitor

5 SERVICE
REPORT

”Studying God’s Word about faith,
hope and love in not the least bit
trivial. We start each day with truth
in their spiritual devotion because I
want to build each woman’s self-
esteem. Jesus said that the greatest
value is love... and we
wholeheartedly agree with this
statement. ”

6 FINANCIALS

“We have a lot of work and it takes
the whole community; it’s a team
effort. You can’t tell me there’s not
a person in Madisonville who has
not been touched in one way or
another by someone who is
addicted. Together we can reach
those people and help them get
back on the right path. But let’s be
honest, at WTRH we need help with
contributions, prayers and
volunteers.”

― Sandra (Mom) Clayton
Community Liaison
