It’s the 1st time we took part in an

QAs a band, you have experi-

How do you define team spirit?
Yes, NEWS is a team of multi-tal- 16

nation. We are confident that “with
the spirit, nothing is impossible”.
Friendship, caring, dedication are

QHow do you manage your work since we
all know how busy you are?
Time management is the most difficult in balanc-
ing academic and career. We think, it is relevant to
each and every person since the world is compli-
cated. Sometimes, people give up feeling depressed
when they are unable to manage their work. There
is no a person can manage everything perfect.
First, we should be self confident. The most obvi-
ous reason to increased number of depressed pa-
tients is lack of confidence on themselves. Life is a
mere challenge filled with good and bad days. We
should be optimistic to face hard situations. In oth-
er hand, FAMILY never gives up on you. Specifi-
cally, parents are the back born in everyone’s life. If
we are inwardly not stable, we can be opened with
our family. Even in our lives, the back born of us
is clearly our parents. If they were closed minded
and limited to our academics at the beginning, we
had given up our music journey. Yet, our heartfelt
gratitude is for our parents who took the correct
decision at the appropriate time. Hence, believe
your self, believe your family.
QWhat is your message to your younger
generation?
I think, we are also still exploring the world. With
the experience till now, I should say that, do what
you prefer. It could be art, technological or aca-
demic as well. Yet, it’s important being conscious
to take good decisions. We should love to our in-
volved industry. It definitely blesses us, unless, we
can’t expect a successful long journey.

two workshops in the assistance of a competition
series and an Award Ceremony which enlivened

Correspondingly, the first workshop was
successfully conducted by Mr. Prasanna Lak-

enhancing the creativity of the participants in vid-

great workshops facilitating more than 400 par-

The competition series was launched un-

As the themes for the competition series Nature,

single project but also each project brought us that sat-
isfaction. If we can spend a single minute listening to
someone’s story, that might be heavenly for that person.
Thus, our happiness was to be the reason behind plen-
ty of smiles. Consequently, we could be onboard as a
club because we mainly focused on the impact of each
project and throughout the term we could successful-
ly work with a more dedicated membership who were
rich in attitudes. Thus, if we can apply our experiences
to our next initiations, we are able to adapt to any situ-
ation because the person that we are building up within
ourselves is really powerful.
QHow do you handle stress and pressure?
How to balance everything is actually a challenge. I
didn’t even know whether I would be able to succeed.
However, at the end of the day anyhow I was able to ac-
complish each task I have got. The only secret was that I
believed in myself. I’m telling you to prioritize believing
in yourself, and then your capacity will build up spon-
taneously. We learn to prioritize the work and manage
somehow to do it with our experience. Thus, we would
definitely learn to balance our life, if we are rich in our
attitude to believe in ourselves.
QWhat is your next initiation as a Leo?
Actually I worked as the secretary in the Leo district too.
But I will proceed with the experiences that I received
as a Leo, being a human blessed with humane qualities.
So, for that I don’t need to be labeled as a Leo, because
there’ll be no barriers in time or terrace to be a strength
and to offer smiles to humans.
QAs the immediate past president what are
your insights to this Leo term and how you
embrace this term in your eyes?
I already knew that the dream I had in my mind years
ago will come true not in my term but in the future, be-
cause the process of altering a system takes much time
and effort. I’m glad to see how you all are painting that
dream. I’m pretty sure that this Leo term is on the next
level because I see the performances of the executive
board, director board and the entire membership. Ev-
19
on the next level because I see the performances of the
executive board, director board and the entire mem-
bership. Everyone leisurely works as a family without
making pressure and living in the moment to accom-
plish the pure purpose. It’s great to see that you are
capable enough to be mingled with people and prac-
tice togetherness. And I saw a variety of projects that
have already been finished, offering smiles to plenty of
hearts. More and more valuable projects will also be
done during this term and I also don’t need to miss the
chances to live in those moments. That’s why I always
try my best to be with you all because I see you trying
to give something to the society while simultaneously
developing your skills as well. Even in the interview
process in selecting the executive board, priority was
given to the attitudes because that’s what matters in
changing a society. Then your president, Leo Navod
Dunusinghe is a great leader and my dreams are
ensured under his guidance throughout this term.
Therefore it’s happy to see that the dream I began to
paint is growing further and further in this term.
QBy the way, don’t you see any negative as-
pects?
There might be some places that we need alterations.
Everyone makes mistakes because we are human be-
ings. I have also failed and I have also made mistakes in
my life. But, we had to face challenges. We can neither
accept nor refuse everything. Each negative point is
also a blessing because we learn through experiences.
Once we make a mistake, the same will not be repeat-
ed because we know how to face challenges. Thus, it’ll
be a great learning experience to manage everything.
QAny message or advice from you?
Utilize the moment and live in the moment. I advise
you not to give up facing challenges and don’t miss
any opportunity, because once they have disappeared
we don’t know when we’ll be able to do that again.
Even if we fail, it’s a great chance to utilize the time
and live in that moment to gain experiences. Thus, I’m
repeatedly saying no matter what happens, never miss
to live in the moment. Then, you’d systematically learn
to absorb the beauty of the world.

Kelibimata Arunalu
“Kelibimata Arunalu” is a project
conducted by the Sports and En-
tertainment Avenue with the aim
of providing suitable sports equip-
ment to a rural school which does
not have required equipment to
engage in sports. The project was
successfully held at Kotmale Sri
Parakrama Maha Vidyalaya on
21th January 2022. Along with the
donation of sports equipment, we
organized a volleyball tournament
to develop the talents of students in
sports and to improve their sports
enthusiasm. Through this project,
we could encourage them and give
a new hope to continue sports that
were in decline for years. Marking
the end of the project, we held a
prize giving ceremony appreciating
their talents by giving valuable cer-
tificates and medals to the winners
of the volleyball tournaments.
The genuine smiles on the faces of
the students and the feedback that
we received from the teachers at the
end of the project proved that we
could achieve the objectives of the
