Leadership

2 Annual Report Fiscal Year 2014

Dear Friends:

The past year has brought dynamic partnerships, exciting collaborations and promising
new ventures to Southeast Georgia Health System. This report for fiscal year 2014
(May 1, 2013, to April 30, 2014) demonstrates how our new ventures serve to
reinforce our commitment to providing quality health care services to our community.

You’ll read about new partnerships that expand access to care in our region,
including advanced care for pediatric patients. You’ll also learn about our latest
technology, the region’s first pedCAT™ — an advanced diagnostic imaging system
for foot and ankle patients — along with a patient-friendly “feet-first” MRI,
advanced cancer imaging and treatment technologies and more.

We were honored to receive numerous awards this past year from the Georgia
Hospital Association (GHA) in recognition of our commitment to patient safety
and continued improvement in patient care, as well as our adherence to value-based
purchasing core measures developed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Our consistent delivery of excellent care to the residents in Camden County and the
surrounding area resulted in the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals naming
the Camden Campus Small Hospital of the Year. Additionally, the Camden Campus
was honored for enhancing quality health care by reducing the number of early
elective deliveries at the Maternity Care Center by more than 20 percent.

Amid all the growth and changes, our core values remain constant: customer focus,
caring, teamwork, continuous improvement, open communication, dedication and
integrity. These values have served as the basis for all of our past accomplishments; they
will continue to guide us as we strive toward our future goals, which, at the forefront,
include continuing to provide the best health care possible to our communities.

Sincerely,

Gary R. Colberg, FACHE Carl Alexander
