Asking for permission การขออนุญาต
ปกติแลว้ ในภาษาองั กฤษเวลา ขออนุญาตมกั จะพดู เป็นประโยคคาํ ถามวา่ ฉนั สามารถทาํ

สิ่งน้นั ส่ิงน้ีไดห้ รือไม่ มีหลายประโยคและหลายสาํ นวนท่ีใชพ้ ดู เพ่ือขออนุญาต ดงั น้ี
1. การใช้ can / could
Can กบั Could ความหมายทว่ั ไปจะใชใ้ นการพดู ถึงความสามารถ แต่can / could
จะใชก้ ารขออนุญาตไดด้ ว้ ย โดยเขียนหรือพดู ในเชิงประโยคคาํ ถาม โดยการใช้ could จะสุภาพกวา่
การใช้ can เช่น

- Can I use your computer? ฉนั ขอใชค้ อมพวิ เตอร์ไดม้ ้ยั คะ
** ถา้ ตอ้ งการใหส้ ุภาพมากข้ึนกใ็ ช้ could และอาจจะเติม please ไวด้ า้ นหลงั กไ็ ด้

- Could I use your computer, please? ฉนั ขอใชค้ อมพวิ เตอร์ของคุณไดไ้ หม
2. การใช้ may
May ปกติจะใชใ้ นการคาดการณ์ แปลวา่ “อาจจะ” เวลาที่เรานาํ มาขออนุญาตจะใชใ้ นรูปประโยคคาํ ถาม
เช่น

May I turn off the fan? ขออนุญาตปิ ดพดั ลมไดไ้ หมคะ
3. ใช้ Do you mind if ……..? / Would you mind if ………….?
Mind ในท่ีน้ีหมายถึง รังเกียจ เวลาขออนุญาต ใชเ้ ป็นประโยคคาํ ถามกไ็ ด้ เช่น

Do you mind if I sit here? คุณจะวา่ อะไรม้ยั ถา้ ฉนั จะนง่ั ตรงน้ี

Request & Command
ประโยคคาํ สง่ั (Command) ประโยคคาํ สงั่ เป็นประโยคท่ีข้ึนตน้ ดว้ ยคาํ กริยาไม่มีประธาน

เช่น
Sit down. นงั่ ลง
Open the window. เปิ ดหนา้ ต่างดว้ ย
Don’t disturb her. อยา่ รบกวนเธอ

ประโยคชนิดน้ีสร้างเป็นการขอร้องโดยการเติม Please (โปรด กรุณา) เขา้ ไป อาจจะวางตน้
ประโยค หรือทา้ ยประโยคกไ็ ด้ การขอร้องดว้ ยประโยคชนิดน้ี ถือเป็นการขอร้องโดยตรง

ประโยคขอร้อง (Request) ประโยคอีกรูปแบบหน่ึงท่ีใชบ้ ่อยคือ ประโยคขอร้อง การขอร้อง
ใหผ้ อู้ ่ืนทาํ อะไรกค็ วรพดู ใหส้ ุภาพเขา้ ไว้ จะไปพดู หว้ นๆ กระโชกโฮกฮากเขากค็ งจะไม่ช่วยเรา
การขอร้องมีหลายระดบั ต้งั แต่ขอร้องเชิงคาํ สงั่ ขอร้องแบบสุภาพและสุภาพมาก เชน่
Please turn on the light. กรุณาเปิ ดไฟหน่อย

The Adventure of Ginger Bread
ขนมปังขงิ ผจญภยั

Christmas was approaching. So Grandma baked a big
piece of ginger Bread. She wanted to hang it on the Christmas tree by
the window. Ginger Bread looked at the street outside where many
people were walking by with great interest. Looks like fun out there.
Ginger Bread thought. While Grandma was busy putting things in
place. Ginger Bread united the rope put around him. Then he ran
thought the door left ajar. The air is so refreshing out here. Ginger
Bread talked to himself and took a deep breath. He was started when
heard a loud voice saying. What a yummy looking ginger bread! May
I have a taste? Ginger Bread turned around to see a cat watching him.
Ginger Bread was scared and started running away. The cat followed
closely until seeing a big dog in the way. The cat stopped. But Ginger
Bread continued. Aha are you Ginger Bread? The dog asked licking
his lips. You look so yummy. May I have a taste? While the dog
reaching out his paw to catch him. Ginger Bread turned and ran away
quickly. In the sky, a bird looked down and saw a dog chasing
something. It came down to check it out. Seeing that it is Ginger
Bread, the bird wanted to take him back for her kids. The bird
swooped down and snatched Ginger Bread into sky with her claws.

Suddenly a big wind blew. It blew so hard that the bird swayed back

and forth. She unwillingly had to let Ginger Bread go. Ginger Bread

fell onto the bush behind Grandma’s house. Grandma was surprised to

see Ginger Bread back as a decoration on the Christmas tree once

again.

The wolf and the Seven Little Goats
หมาป่ ากบั ลกู แพะเจ็ดตวั

Once upon a time, there lived a mother goat and her seven
little children in a strong, safe house. One day, the mother goat had to
leave the house. Don’t open the door to anybody, especially the wolf
with a hoarse voice and black feet. The seven little goats promised to
obey their mother’s orders. The mother goat, thus, left the house.
Secretly watching the house and seeing what had happened, the wolf
came to knock on the door. He said My dear children, this is your
mother. Open the door for me, please. When the kids heard the voice,
they knew that it was the wolf. So they said Our mother’s voice is not
hoarse like yours. You must be the bad wolf. We won’t open the door
to you ! The wolf went to drink water from the well nearby until his
voice became clearer. He came back to knock on the door again and
said sweetie in a disguised voice, “My dearest children, your mother
is back. Open the door for me, please, my dears.” The little goats
stooped down and took a peek through the narrow space under the
door and saw right away that it was the wolf. They said, “Our
mother’s feet are not black like yours. You must be the bad wolf.
We won’t open the door for you!” The wolf did not give up. He went
away to find some white flour to put on his feet to make them white.

Then, he came back to knock on the door again. When the young

goats saw the white feet the narrow slit under the door, they opened

the door for him. As soon as the door was open, the wolf jumped all

over the kid goats and bagged them, one by one. Only the seventh

little goat managed to escape. The seventh goat waited until his

mother came back to come out form his hiding place. The kid goat his

mother everything that had happened. After hearing that, the mother

goat, together with the young goat, hurried out to try to find the wolf.

The mother got saw the wolf sleeping. The wolf had the bag beside

him. She united it to set all her kids free. Then, she asked all her kids

to help fill the bag with rocks. After tying the bag, she tied one end of

the rope to the wolf’s leg. When the wolf woke up, he felt thirsty. He

went to the stream for drink of water. But, because his leg was tied to

the rope, he could not walk straight. He slipped and fell into the water

with bag still tied to him. From the on, the seven goats at all her

children lived happily together ever after, without being bothered

every again by the wolf.
