OVERVIEW The initial period when the
international students first arrive in
SAHABUDDY | 3 Malaysia can be both exciting and
overwhelming at the same time,
especially since they are yet to
become familiar with Malaysia.

Sahabuddy is designed to assist new
international students with the
challenges associated with the early
stages of their university experience.
We believe that the local students can
help new international students by
sharing experiences, providing
insights into university life, and
addressing their questions and
concerns.

To achieve these objectives, the local
students will be paired with the
incoming new international students.
This programme also offers a platform
for the students to establish
friendships, as well as provide the
opportunity to share and learn foreign
customs, traditions and lifestyles.

This programme is also open to the
current international students as this
programme can expand their
knowledge in Malay culture and
language. The local students will also
benefit from exchanging cultural
knowledge with these international
students, thus strengthening their
bond with each other.

SAHABUDDY |  4

OBJECTIVE Firstly, in order to make this
program a successful one, we have
SAHABUDDY | 5 set some objectives for this
program. These objectives are to
help international students adapt
to their university lifestyle in a new
country and provide assistance and
advice regarding campus facilities
and support services.

Besides, this program can help the
international students adapt to the
Malaysian culture and community
while giving them the opportunity
to connect with the local students
from the same and different
courses.

Not only that, both international and
local students would be able
to establish their social network
through this program.

Furthermore, from this Sahabuddy's
program, they would be able to
exchange cultural knowledge
between the international and the
local students while at the same time
strengthen the bond between the
students in Kulliyyah of Languages
and Management (KLM).
