8 th FEBRUARY 2019 FRIDAY The ‘Jom Ke Sekolah’ programme was launched on 8th February 2019 (Friday). First, the police officer, Sylvia Anak Rantai delivered her speech. Then, notice board has been installed in school to share important information. Lastly, the police officers had breakfast with teachers and parents. Reported by, Lee Xiu Mie SJKC Nang Hua held Let’s Read Together for 10 Minutes programme on 23 rd April 2019 (Tuesday). All the teachers and pupils read books in the library from 11:00 a.m. to 11:10 a.m. It is hoped that through this programme, Malaysians will read daily and reading will be a daily habit. 12th APRIL 2019 FRIDAY 5 th MAY 2019 SATURDAY STUDY AID All the pupils of SJKC Nang Hua were given study aid on 5th May 2019 (Saturday) at SJKC Dung Sang, Sibu. The pupils received RM200 each from Datuk Dr Eadon Ching, the founder and president of Pertubuhan Amal Seri Sinar (P.A.S.S). Reported by, Lee Xiu Mie HOME VISIT PROGRAMME The home visit programme was launched this year. The teachers visiting students’ homes to meet parents or guardians and share with them the students’ progress while understanding their family background. Four teachers visited Nian Ming’s home on 12th April 2019 (Friday) and Amber’s home on 10th May 2019 (Friday). The teachers shared opinions with the pupils’ parents and guardians. SJKC Nang Hua held cross country race on 21st May 2019 (Tuesday). During this morning, the boys and girls in each class ran 1 km from the school gate to King Sang Road. CROSS COUNTRY JOINT SPORTS DAY On May 23rd, SJKC Nang Hua, SJKC Tong Hua, SJKC Kung Cheng and SJKC Yong Kwong held a Joint Sports Day at Stadium Bintangor for 146 students, parents and teachers. We would like to congratulate to Nur Shafika binti Dilah who won the gold medal for long jump (Level 1). SJK NANG HUA STORYTELLING COMPETITION 15th MARCH 2019 FRIDAY SJK Nang Hua had a Storytelling Competition on 15th March 2019 (Friday). There were six pupils who participated in this competition. The objective of this competition is to enhance pupils’ confidence in using English. Athletics Competition District Level Lee Xiu Mie, Siaw Yang Fong and Siaw Chy Ling joined in an Athletics Competition District Level on 31st January 2019 (Thursday). They took part in long jump, 100m sprint and shot put. Reported by, Siaw Yang Fong 31st JANUARY 2019 THURSDAY BM Storytelling Competition District Level On April 3rd, SK Bukit Papit organised a BM Storytelling Competition. Nur Shafika binti Dilah took part in this competition. The title of her story was ‘Tiung Melarikan Kalung’. 3 rd APRIL 2019 WEDNESDAY Reported by, Lee Xiu Mie 12th APRIL 2019 FRIDAY Chinese Poetry Recitation Competition District Level Amber Ling, Moh Nian Ming and Nur Shafika participated in their first Chinese Poetry Recitation Competition at SJKC Tong Hua on 12th April 2019 (Friday).They won a consolation prize in the competition. Meradong Chinese Primary School Singing Competition Meradong Chinese Primary School Singing Competition was held on 26th April 2019 at Bintangor. Students of class level 1 and 2 participated in the competition. Lee Xiu Mie (Year 5) and Moh Nian Ming (Year2) were elected to represent our school in the competition. The song performed by Xiu Mie and Nian Ming were ‘Dawn’ and ‘Grateful Heart’. Both of them sang to their level best. We would like to congratulate to Xiu Mie who won the first prize in the singing competition! Reported by, Siaw Chy Ling 26th APRIL 2019 FRIDAY The Foochow Association held the 13th SingaporeMalaysia-Brunei Primary School on-the-spot Chinese Essay Writing Competition on May 18th . The competition was held at SJKC Kai Chung. The competition was held to showcase students’ abilities to write short essays. Siaw Chy Ling (Year 6) and Siaw Yang Fong (Year 5) participated in this competition. An inter-school Storytelling Competition was held at our school hall on 9th April 2019 (Tuesday) on the occasion of Co-curriculum Carnival. There were 17 schools altogether who participated in this year storytelling competition. The competition was judged by Madam Elizabeth Ling Pei Lee, Mr Mohd Nazzuruddin Bin Su’ud and Miss Ann Sia Tan Chih. The competition provided an opportunity to the pupils of Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 to showcase their storytelling talents. The competition aims to enhance pupils’ confidence in using English, give pupils the opportunity to use English in an interesting, authentic and creative manner, enhance and improve listening and speaking skills and instill pupils’ interest in reading and writing in English. The competition was divided into two sections. Section 1 was prepared and Section 2 was impromptu. The contestants presented excellent stories and came dressed according to the theme of their stories. They enjoyed participating in the competition and made the competition a great success. FAREWELL PARTY 31st DECEMBER 2018 MONDAY A farewell party was organised for Mr Huan Hung Ding on 31 st December 2018 (Monday). The farewell party was held at Hock Hua Restaurant in Bintangor. FAREWELL PARTY All the teachers and pupils of SJKC Nang Hua bid a farewell to Madam Angela Law Siew Hua and Madam Chew Fong Fei during a farewell party on 1 st March 2019 (Friday). The farewell party was held at the school hall. The pupils performed farewell songs for Madam Angela and Madam Chew. Then, presents were given to both of them. Nian Ming’s BIRTHDAY PARTY Nian Ming celebrated her birthday on 3rd May 2019 (Friday). She invited teachers and friends to her birthday party at her house. The party started at 1:00 p.m. We chatted and played games while waiting for the food to be served. Nian Ming’s grandmother prepared a lot of tasty food such as chicken soup, curry chicken, hotdogs and others. Nian Ming’s aunty bought her a chocolate cake. We sang birthday song together. Nian Ming closed her eyes and made a wish. Then, she blew the candle and cut the cake. We ate cake and food together. We had a great time at Nian Ming’s birthday party.
