Apakah “BIM’’ ? Kenapa perlu BIM sekarang ? • BUILDING INFORMATION MODELLING Pengenalan “BIM”


Perspektif berkenaan BIM • BIM bukan CAD 1.1.1 Sejarah Perkembangan BIM “CAD membantu kita untuk melukis. BIM membantu kita untuk membina (model)” (Richard Saxon, Ecobuild, February 2009) “BIM bukan CAD. BIM memang tidak bermaksud untuk menjadi CAD. CAD adalah pengganti pen dan kertas, iaitu alat untuk mendokumentasi. Sebagai perbandingan program BIM adalah aplikasi untuk merekabentuk ” (Richard Saxon, Ecobuild, February 2009) BIM is “Building Information Modelling”. It’s a methodology to use 3D models for authorization, management, and extraction of data/ information throughout the project lifecycle. It is also an integrated digital process providing coordinated, reliable information about a project throughout all phases, from design through construction and into operation. It’s about managing the project lifecycle.


Pada tahun 1970’s Eastman telah mengkritik bahawa lukisanlukisan kerja untuk pembinaan adalah tidak effisen dan menyebabkan masalah berulang pada satu objek yang mewakili pada beberapa peringkat. • Beliau juga mengkritik lukisan hardcopy untuk kecenderungan mereka kepada kerosakan dari masa ke masa dan gagal untuk mewakili bangunan sebagai pengubahsuaian berlaku dan lukisan tidak dikemaskini.


Pada tahun 1973 , Eastman membangunkan perisian Pertama untuk berjaya mewujudkan pangkalan data untuk menggambarkan elemen perpustakaan individu yang boleh diambil dan ditambah kepada model, iaitu Bangunan Penerangan Sistem (BDS) • Pada tahun 1977 , Eastman seterusnya perisian GLIDE (Graphical Bahasa untuk Design Interactive) telah mempamerkan kebanyakan ciri -ciri platform BIM moden STS 3095
