I chose this book because i have
read all the dork diaries books
except for this one. I like the
author’s writing. I can connect
with the book. I understand the
authors purpose. I love chapter
books.

About the author

Rachel Renée Russell is an American
attorney and author of children's
books. She is best known for her
series of children books known as
'Dork Diaries' and a spin-off book
titled 'The Misadventures of Max
Crumbly.' She was born and raised
in Michigan and was always
interested in writing and drawing.

Character Description

Nikky Maxwell :Nikki is the new girl in school. She’s a
self-proclaimed dork and chronic doodler with big
dreams and an even bigger addiction to writing in her
diary. Nikki often underestimates herself despite her many
talents. Although she finds herself knee deep in drama
(no thanks to her little sister and arch nemesis), this
dork embraces her dorkiness and always lands on her
feet!

Chloe Christina Garcia : Chloe is Nikki’s boy-crazy BFF,
partner in crime, and amateur romance expert. She’s sweet,
girly, really sensitive, and loves to read all of the latest
novels. Chloe is very protective of Nikki and always has her
back when the going gets tough. She can bring a big smile
to Nikki’s face with a group hug or by flashing her “jazz
hands.”

Zoeysha Ebony Franklin : Zoey is Nikki’s BFF, partner in
crime, and a human Wikipedia. She’s brainy, mature, and a

loyal friend who enjoys reading self-help books and
spouting off zany quotes from famous people. She’s funny,
creative, and bails Nikki out of trouble on the reg. You can
always go to Zoey for homework help or a quick therapy

session!

Plot

new school, new friends, new
enimies, new diary, and new crush.

Summary

In the book Dork Diaries: Tales from a Not-So-Smart Miss Know-It-All
a rather dorky teenage girl named Nikki J. Maxwell tells her story
through her absolutely dorky diary. Nikki Maxwell attends Westchester
Country Day Middle School. Westchester Country Day , or WCD is just
another private snobby school for rich kids. The only way Nikki is able to
attend WCD is on her scholarship that she received because her farther
works there occasionally as the school's exterminator. Nikki is just an
ordinary girl who faces the same obstacles as any other teenage middle
school girl, but she writes all about them in her diary. Just like an
average dorky teen, Nikki has an arch nemesis named MacKenzie Hollister,
who is the most popular CCP (Cool, Cute, & Popular) girl in school.
MacKenzie is always trying to ruin Nikki's life, and she doesn't mind
playing dirty to do it. MacKenzie is also the only person in the entire
school who knows how and why Niki is able to attend WCD ( Whestchester
Country Day ) . On top of having to worry about MacKenzie ruining her
life, she is always thinking about her crush, Brandon. Brandon and Nikki
are really close friends but it’s obvious that they both want to be more
than that. Nikki worries that a harmless prank she and her two best
friends, Chloe and Zoey, played on MacKenzie might get them, or even
Brandon suspended from school. Nikki thinks that MacKenzie might tell
the principal or write about it in her fashion column in the school
newspaper and let the principal find out that way. So to make sure
MacKenzie doesn't write about it in her column Nikki joins the school
newspaper with her own advice column as Miss Know-It-All, having
Chloe and Zoey always by her side.

recommendation

I would recommend this book to a
girl in middle school who has a
lot of drama and is in 6th.
