As financial planners, I can’t emphasize enough on your role to educate and guide your customers in making informed choices, and curate a comprehensive yet personalised financial plan that ensures our customers’ finances grow securely and strategically. A recent survey conducted by our banking partner, Hong Leong Bank, revealed that 79% Malaysians aged between 18 and 77, lacked a proper financial plan. While of those who actually made a financial plan, 78% preferred insurance to support their family during unforeseen circumstances. Hence, we need to be more proactive in promoting insurance literacy and financial awareness amongst our customers, and simplifying complex processes so that they can navigate with confidence and prudence. We must ensure that proper financial management is accessible to everyone so that they can work towards a secure financial future for themselves and their families. Furthermore, in order to remain competitive, we need to be agile to adapt to constant changes that is happening in the industry on an ongoing basis. Only those who adapt best will continue to be at the top of their game. There is definitely much room for personal and professional growth in the insurance industry.
