Reunion - revisit, reunite, relive Bangalore, India 13th Feb 2016

I have been fortunate in my career to have led many successful teams
and I can honestly say, that of all those many teams, only one team
stands above all the rest. Without a doubt in my mind, the Motorola
Paging India team was, and is, Simply the Best team I have had the
honor and privilege to lead. You represent the very best of what
makes a team truly unique and outstanding and we should all be very
proud of all that we accomplished in the early years in spite of the
many challenges that we faced. I remember my time in India very
vividly with great fondness and consider that time, the best part of my
career and life. Thank you for being a part of that wonderful time
where we created magic and demonstrated the true meaning of
teamwork by making the impossible happen many times over. "

Editor’s note

What is friendship?

The famous American professional boxer, Muhammad Ali,
once said "friendship is not something you can learn in school,
but if you have not learnt the meaning of friendship, you really
haven't learnt anything."

Dear friends,

Our theme "Revisit, Reunite, Relive” symbolizes the essence of the team spirit
that was the hall mark of Motorola during the Golden years between 1990 and
1997. Our first commander Dinesh Raghavan, a leader par excellence along
with Hank and Gopal showed us what is takes to succeed and Hank that made
leaders out of many of us sitting here today. Following in his footsteps were
Hank and Henry who strengthened us further with their own unique experience
and knowledge. Their presence here today is a sign of their love for this
wonderful team.

We are going to spend time together with our very own best friends in our lives.
Old Stories are like old friends. You have to visit them from time to time.
Today is our time to revisit. We should all thank the organizing team lead by
our Bala who with a Motorolan spirit of “Can Do” got us all together to
celebrate our golden days with Motorola. Nakkina, Manmurthy, Devaprasad,
Gayanthri CM, Devdas, Poornima, Sanjay Yellore, Rakesh, Padmini have put
their heart into making this event possible.

The task given to me was to chronicle and celebrate the accomplishments of
many who went out, followed their passion and carved a niche for themselves in
their chosen field of interest. This idea of celebrating a few, turned into making
a souvenir reflecting the life after Motorola for all of us assembled here today.

This E-Souvenir reflects our conscious effort towards savings Mother Earth.
This Souvenir will keep reminding you of this day and fill you with the
longingness to meet again and again picking up the lost strings.

Celebrate today and enjoy life………as we Revisit, Reunite, Relive the
Motorolan spirit !

From India, went to Ireland for about 18 months before landing a role at what was then an iconic
company at the time, Palm, and spent 3 years there. After Palm, I moved to Thailand and was part of
the UK based Orange cellular group before being hired by the Thai organization - True Corp. I spent 3
years at True before finally retiring at the end of 2005.

I have since remarried and am following my passion of truly living life - enjoying making my cup of
coffee in the morning and watching the sun rise, living a healthy life, learning a new language,
starting a new life all over again and taking the time to smell the roses and being truly immersed in
this thing we call life.

1. After Bangalore, I moved to Shanghai, China to start a new Outsourcing Department where I was
responsible for transferring all the Motorola Infrastructure PCBA business to EMS in China.

2. In 2004, I became the GM for the infrastructure manufacturing in Tianjin.

3. In 2005, When Motorola integrated all the manufacturing under one roof called Integrated Supply
Chain (ISC). I was involved in the consolidation process in Tianjin and then headed the ISC
Operation in China.

4. In 2006, I started working on India manufacturing strategy which was approved in the middle of
2006. At the end of 2006, I came to India to choose the manufacturing site. After choosing Chennai,
we inaugurated a 300Ksq.ft manufacturing site in Chennai.

5. In 2010, Google bought over Motorola mobility. After transferring the legal entity to Google, I left
Motorola/Google in mid 2013.

Since then, I am enjoying a retired life.

Sachin Tendulkar use to set such high goals for himself, when we think about
Sachin what is the first word that comes to our mind? “Talent”, was he born
with talent, Talent can be developed.

When Sachin was 14 years he played 55 matches without taking a break,
morning he use to practice for 2 hrs. than play a match in evening again
practice. This he has done 55 times without break. It was not Sachins talent that
made him greatest batsman of all times it was his passion for the game that
made him great.

Talent always gives us an opportunity or first chance but post that, when you
reach to certain level it’s your attitude and passion to perform. Passion is the
energy that keeps us going, passion is the driving force behind success and
happiness that allows us all to live better lives

"Nothing is as important as passion. No matter what you want to do with your
life, be passionate."

Leaving Motorola in 1998 was a big decision; Quest for entrepreneurship was stronger than
professional career. It was a complete transformation of my total personality. While I was stepping
out it was invaluable capital I could garner working with a few of my colleagues worked with me
during that time also present here and rekindling my delight.

I ventured into Image management space, Touched many lives with Humility by coaching many
young girls in the tricks of Beauty Enhancement and presentation. Been a regular visitor to Old age
home on special days each year and try to bring cheer on the faces by showing them how wonderful
they are.

As a professional in the stream of beauty business I earned a lot of name, fame, money and cherished
success but I think that it is all because of professional touch what I could bring in that sector which
is not so well organized.

This discipline was a part of my personality development happened about 2 decades ago. I owe a lot
to a few of you who were directly or indirectly a reason for my transformation. I am glad that I have
this wonderful opportunity to recap my memory of those wonderful years I spent with Motorola and
becoming a part of reunion after a gap of almost 2 decades

The only work that will ultimately bring any good to any of us is the work of
contributing to the healing of the world. - Mariane Williamson

After I left you all, I joined as a Secretary to MD in the Resource Centre for Training and
Development and served there for 2 years.

Then I was a Team Leader for a period of 1.5 years in the Utkarsh Staffing Solutions.

Later, after my marriage in 2010, my journey of life turned towards finding my true Self, (Of
course with the help of my husband). I learnt Meditation, Yoga and Holistic Healing. This
took me to the Spiritual path which has helped me only with too practical a technique of
living life effectively and more happily, unlike the general belief of a recluse would be the
result of spiritualism. A good practice of this life style gets me new leaf of fresh knowledge
every day, which is also abundantly helpful in growing my cute angel Harini, as a responsible
citizen of the society with necessary checks and balances. This keeps me hooked to it.

Read on - Article from Vinutha on Healing

HAPPINESS AND PEACE OF MIND – VERY ESSENCE OF LIFE‼

Our effort is to be happy, joyful and be peaceful always. But our physical ailments take us for
a ride often. The unique life style technique of keeping ourselves happy, peaceful, hale &
healthy, without having to wait at the doorsteps of a Doctor or swallowing any pills or piercing
ourselves with needles, is HOLISTIC HEALING.

The very term is suggesting that all other healing processes followed hitherto are incomplete.
Is it so? Yes, Obviously. Modern medicine treats just the symptoms, thereby implicating more
hidden side effects only to erupt as a different ailment at a future time. And all other systems
of medicine have one or the other insufficiencies. Whereas Holistic Healing helps not only to
bring back a person to the state of ease from ‘dis-ease’, but also uproots the very cause of
ailment, the Karma. This healing system stems from the Vedic Knowledge of India. Veda is

Reunion - revisit, reunite, relive Bangalore, India 13th Feb 2016

not any product of human intelligence. Any knowledge of human intelligence has its expiry
date sealed on it only to become extinct. But the Vedic Knowledge keeps on feeding more and
more insight to the one who strives with devout sincerity. Hence, this Holistic Healing
Knowledge could also be termed liberally as Brahma Vidya – as it explains the incoming –
existing or living, - and outgoing or departing (death) of our souls in relation to our mortal
coils. As the soul is all powerful, it gives us the power and technique to know and heal our own
body, mind, soul and also to help others through healing. All the Reiki, pranic healing and other
types of healing techniques practiced world over nowadays, find their roots very much from
this vedic knowledge only.

The way in which healing works is truly unbelievable, amazing and miraculous. But healing
does not happen as a chance or accidentally. It is a perfect method. We all know that breathing
is inevitable to live. We may spend lakhs and lakhs of rupees to treat our diseases for several
transplantations and even blood transfusion; but above all this, our blood system has to be
always energized with the enlivening energy in it. At least 50 times in a minute, our blood gets
de-oxygenated and again gets rejuvenated by the process of breathing which is involuntary.
We have to introspect what we spend to breathing, when we spend so much of money for
treatments. Also must realize that there is no life without breathing.

We breathe in the Life Source Energy from the atmosphere and breathe out our own toxins.
Actually for the sake of explanation, it is told as breathing in and breathing out and O2 and CO2
and all. Actually, it is an uninterrupted continuous process of energy cycle happening during
breathing. Our system is always bound and filled with the divine life energy around us. So,
whatever toxin is in our system, the moment we inhale, that toxin is transformed into again
pure form of life energy within us and the excessive toxins only are let out.

The diseases are nothing but collected stagnated, overhead storage of these excessive toxins.
A master of holistic healing with a unique skill connects himself with the unlimited life energy
around, and channelizes that divine life energy directly to the affected area of the patient. Also
as how one is breathing out the toxins, the same way the healer brings out the toxin directly
from the affected area. As how the exhaled toxin gets recycled as life energy, the same way,
the discharged toxins also get recycled as pure energy in the atmosphere. The uniqueness of
Holistic Healing is, it helps to unearth the root cause of the disease from its seed level, from
the very thought area of the patient which is called (PLR) Past Life Regression.

Joined APC (American Power conversion) to learn and grow his expertise in more equipments and
then joined Universal Instruments Corporation as a Global Field Engineer where he learnt the nuances
of software. Hardware to software and in the process visited many countries for Installations, Training
and SMT Line Configurations. Great progress.

During this transition I had completed my Engineering and had joined MBA on operations
management. This helped me to learn different optimization techniques. With these backgrounds, I
wanted to improve my career path.

I then joined Nokia as a FPO (Factory Process Owner) for all Pick and Place machines. I used my
technical abilities and management skills to multiply the lines from 10 Lines to 20 Lines in same
space. I designed different types of SMT lines to run the products. My work was recognised and I was
awarded with few achievement certificates.

I again started looking for a change in my career as my passion had changed after my MBA. I was
looking for a management level of interaction which I can do independently. I got a right opportunity
at AIM Solder as Technical Sales Manager. Here I could use my Technical and Management skills to
run the operations.

Currently I am with AIM solder since 2007, working as acting Director and taking care of sales
independently in India.

This is my professional path starting from Motorola to AIM solder. I have thoroughly enjoyed my
career throughout this period with the support of my friends.

Coming to my personal life, I got married in 2007, and blessed with 2 beautiful daughters, Siri and
Saanvi. Siri is 7 years and Saanvi turned 5 today (13th Feb).

teams globally. Taking up risks and challenges became a DNA and it helped in growing teams that I
was leading both locally and Globally. The energy is infectious.
I also got an exiciting oppurtunity to work with a very aggressive assignment to build and deploy
Ecommerce solution for US 2nd largest Retailer and it indeed was a great experience. Here I could
recall the night out's we used to do at Motorola to meet the production targets and how we came
together as a team. These past learnings helped me to pull the team together in the function that I was
leading. The never say Die spirit and risk taking and conviction to dream big and achieve all of which
I got grounding from my Motorola days helped me a lot.

There are many a times when I recall and thank my leaders with whom I was associated in Motorola
who helped blend me to what I am today.. as I know I was one of the youngest to be part of the start
up team and being raw I can now reflect what a pain I would have been to my managers ... my
heartfelt gratitude to all who helped me become what I am today and also look forward to their
support in the coming days.

On the otherside... Motorola also helped me in becoming an early raiser... (1st sift effect may be) and
no time constraints .. I can now start early and also end up very late.. all due to the grounding I got
during my stint at Motorola.

My Key learnings during Motorola days (Top 3)

- Effective communication & Presentation (TCS competetion as a platform)

Persistence and perseverance are the key factors which have helped me to achieve and raise the bar
again and again. Always believed “ Hum honge kaamyaab ek din”.( Will succeed one day for sure),
हम होंगे कामयाब एक दिन.

Believed that people are key assets and worked to be with people, for the people, collaborated to the
max and achieved results.

On the first day, as President, Abraham Lincoln entered to give his
inaugural address, just in the middle, one man stood up. He was a rich
aristocrat.

He said, "Mr. Lincoln, you should not forget that your father used to make
shoes for my family". And the whole senate laughed; they thought they had
made a fool of Abraham Lincoln.

But Lincoln - and that type of people are made of a totally different
mettle. Lincoln looked at the man and said, "Sir I know that my father
used to make shoes in your house for your family, and there will be many
other here... because the way he made shoes; nobody else can. He was a
creator. His shoes were not just shoes, he poured his whole soul in it. I

want to ask you, have you any complaint? Because I know how to make shoes
myself; if you have any complaint I can make another pair of shoes. But as
far as I know, nobody has ever complained about my father's shoes. He was
genius, a great creator and I am proud of my father".

Leaders turned their biggest weakness in life into biggest strength.

Going against the grain takes lots of guts and convection, going against the
grain takes lots of guts and convection and that’s what is called the leadership.

We got the title from these extraordinary people who always put little bit extra
even “when it hurts”
