I'm Brooke Mallon, I was born July 21,1998 in Huron, South Dakota. My parents are
Jason and Nicki Mallon. I have an older brother Nick Mallon. He is currently in the National
Guard and will be attending Black Hills State in the fall.
I am a senior at Huron High School. I have been taking piano lessons with Beverly Bigge
for 12 years. I played the violin in my school's Orchestra for 7 years. I played Percussion for my
school's band for seven years also, and played in the marching band for 3 years. I've sang in
our concert choir for the past two years. I ran track my freshman and sophomore year. I played
soccer my junior and senior year and the spring of 2016 I played spring soccer for Huron. This
spring I help the Parks and Rec ref little kids soccer and I also coach a 6 and 7 year old soccer
team. I have been in Key Club for four years and have done many community services though
it. I have been apart of the Huron FFA Chapter for four years. My junior I was selected to be the
Historian, and this year I am the Vice President for the Huron FFA chapter.
I have been apart of the UCC youth group until we started to loose kids, so I joined a
youth group at Carpenter and have done many things with them. I attend a church camp at
Byron Bible Camp every summer, and starting last year I have become a counselor for them
and have helped many other camps that they put on.
During my high school years I have worked at the Huron Veterinarian Hospital. I help
them take care of the animals that board there and if they need help handling an animal while
they're checking them I will help hold the animal. During the summer time I have been a
Lifeguard at Splash Central in Huron. I got my WSI and have taught swimming lessons there
also.
This s Fall I will attend Lake Area Tech in Watertown and will be in their Dental Assisting
Program for two years. I'm hoping after that I will go on to USD and finish out and become a
Dental Hygienist. I would like to plan on coming back to Huron and working around here.
