Gathering Christmas it’sthemostwonderful timeoftheyear! 16 December 2023 In conjunction with Christmas, both the YME-MY and YME-UK chapters found themselves in a Christmas get-together, celebrating and bonding with each other. Thanks to the Human Resources team, the sessions were curated and orchestrated smoothly coupled with joy and laughter. Pak Tam Nizam Ahmad also talked about how framing key accomplishments with power verbs and quantified results can greatly improve your chances of getting noticed. The session also shed light on the 5 highly demanded traits by employers using the ABCDE model, such that cultivating these traits can greatly improve employability. YMExplorer n the 27th of January, YME’s first event, OYMExplorer was held successfully with great results. It was an eye-opening session by none other than Pak Tam Nizam Ahmad , one of the top resume-writing voices on LinkedIn. In which, he provided all participants with more insights than they could ever ask for. One of the key takeaways from his session was that the first 25% of the resume is usually personal branding. This includes components like key skills, experiences that are tailored to fit the job. Other than that, he stressed on the importance of displaying your skills and competencies. He adds that being able to tell the difference between jobOn top of that, Mr PakTam Nizam also enlightened fellow participants with some tips and tricks to handle interviews confidently. A good trick would be to know the type of interview beforehand, as these interviews can be divided into 3 categories: Informational, Technical and Behavioural. Mr PakTam also used some interesting acronyms such as CLUES and STAR to help participants walk into interviews feeling more prepared and confident. 7
On the 30th of March, YME has successfully brought back its signature PYME Workshop, this time with the its focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Led by experienced AI Engineer with over 15 years of experience in software and the AI Industry itself, Ms Leong Lai Fong, the workshop managed to shed light on some Python Programming Language basics, as well as a comprehensive introduction to AI. Ms Leong managed to also enlighten participants on the fundementals of Artificial Intelligence, one of the highlights was the topics of neural networks which piqued participants’ interest. Through this workshop, many participants managed to gain valuable insights on how they can apply their Python coding skills to make a greater impact, as well as how they can advance and build their career towards the AI field. 30th March 2024 IntegrationofAIinto ourdailylives 8
