Expressing Acceptance and Denial
I. Acceptance

Acceptance adalah kalimat jawaban menerima atas suatu pertanyaan atau tuduhan
Contoh kalimat acceptance diantaranya :

- Yes I did
- Yes I am
- You’re right

Contoh dalam kalimat :
A : Are you telling the truth?
B : Yes I am.

II.Denial
Denial adalah bentuk ungkapan penolakan atas sebuah pertanyaan atau tuduhan. Bentuk kalimatnya
seperti :

- No I don’t
- It’s not true
- I didn’t say that

Contoh dalam kalimat :
A : Did you eat eat my lunch?
B : No, I didn’t

GRAMMAR

Past Continous tense

Past continuous tense digunakan untuk :

1. Menyatakan kegiatan atau kejadian pada waktu tertentu diwaktu lampau

Contoh : I was having fun at bthe last vacation

I was walking on the street

2. Untuk menyatakan kejadian yang terganggu dimasa lampau, dimana suatu kejadian sedang

terjadi ketika kejadian yang lain terjadi.

Contoh : She was sleeping when I came in

I was texting when you called me

3. Menyatakan 2 kejadian yang terjadi bersamaan diwaktu lampau

Contoh : I was standing on the deck while the storm happen.

My Dad was on her room, I was taking a shower

Beberapa bentuk Past continuous tense

Subject Was/Were Verb-ing

They Were Taking short course at London University

He was Standing there at 10 o’clock

Subject Was/Were Verb-ing when Subject Verb 2
She Was Sleeping When I Came in
We Were Discussing our plan when They Went out

Narrative Text

Teks narrative terdiri dari 4 bagian :
1. Orientation : Where, when, who, what
2. Complication : Series of events, Conflict
3. Resolution : Solve the problem
4. Re-orientation : Ending

Langkah-langkah menyusun teks narrative :
1. Tentukan temanya
2. Susunan orientasi. Dimana setting peristiwanya, Kapan terjadinya, siapa saja pelakunya, dan
apa yang terjadi
3. Tentukan kapan terjadi konflik
4. Kejadian apa yang menjadi puncak/klimaks, kapan terjadinya, bagaimana penyelesaiannya.
5. Menentukan ending. Buatlah ending yang sesuai dengan klimaks, dan jangan terlalu
dramatis.
