It has been a fantastic season this year for our B Grade
squad. Most of the squad were new to opens football, so
we were not sure as to how we would fair this year but once
the season started it was obvious that we were going to be
strong contenders, with a real chance of making the finals.
At the end of the regular season we were fortunate enough
to see ourselves on top of the table, which was a great
achievement. We were undefeated throughout the year
but so were our opposition in the Semi Final (Fairfield Pats).

our coach Mr Borg got us straight into

Touch Football MCS 17 Yrs Touch
The U17 Touch team had a very
successful season and were unlucky not
to finish up as Premiers. The team went
through the regular season undefeated
and finished as Minor Premiers. In the
first semi final they played Blacktown and
beat them to book a place in the Grand
Final. In the Grand Final they played
St Gregs whom they had comfortably
beaten a few weeks before. St Gregs
though had significantly improved and
managed to upset St Doms in the Grand
Final leaving our boys to collect the
runners up medals. Congratulations
to our captain Ben Peacock for making
the NSWCCC Touch team. Thanks to all
the team for a very enjoyable season of
Touch.

MCS 15 Yrs Touch
Our 2012 season couldn’t have started
any better, we won all of our first six
games by respectable margins and
it wasn’t until we met some fierce
competition did we become a bit
shaky and finally lost a game against
Blacktown. The rotational system of
players in their respective positions such
as wing or in the middle began to cause
upsets within our own ranks and so a
paired system of interchange proved
much more effective for the team to
cooperate together again and get back
on the winning trail. During the season
we lost two games out of the twelve
games played. This held our team in
good stead come finals time. However
the finals were unfruitful despite the
coach’s efforts to get the boys in a
focused, confident and positive mindset.
Thanks to the boys as well as our
manager Mrs Lena Laurenzi for a most
enjoyable season of Touch Football.

St Dominic’s SCOTT MULFORD
Farewells
The College would like to farewell Mr Mulford. He has been
Thank you! an active member of the College community with the many
We wish you all the best roles he undertaken throughout his time here. His most
recent being Year 9 Pastoral Coordinator. In this role he was
138 able to look after the welfare of the year group and provide
support where needed. We would like to thank him for his
contribution to the College and wish him all the best for his
future endeavors.
STEVE MULLER
On behalf of the PE faculty I would like to thank Steve for
his outstanding contribution to the PE department over
the past few years as PE Coordinator. Steve came into the
department and worked extremely hard to modernise the
department and keep us compliant. Steve’s biggest strength
though is his ability to get the best out of his staff. He has
always encouraged us to keep learning as teachers and has
continually stressed the importance of continual professional
development which has seen many of our department
become coordinators or assistant coordinators in recent
years. He is always only too happy to sit down and have a
chat and offer advice. These qualities will make Steve a great
deputy at his new school.
Steve has also made a very valuable contribution to sport
here at school having coached both Rugby League and
Cricket over the years. He formed a dynamic partnership with
Will Pollock as coach of the 13A Rugby League side and this
year achieved an awesome feat of being the only coach in
the school to beat Blacktown and make the NSW All Schools
Grand Final. It was always good to chat to Steve about footy
except for when he took half an hour to tell you about how
good Manly are!
If I had two words to best describe Steve it would be
‘ultimate professional’. Everything he does is done in the
most professional way from coaching to teaching and to
leading a faculty. St Dom’s loss is Liverpool’s gain and I know
you will make a great deputy over there. Steve, thanks for
contribution to St Dom’s, all the best for the future and we
look forward to hearing about your new adventures over at
Liverpool. Thanks!
