Isolation Base Rebuild

There are 2 options for the customer for changing the feet on their Isolation Base.
Option 1:
Re Build 4 HRS Isolators: Remove existing feet off of Isolation Base using a torque wrench (See
HRS Manual – Isolation Base SF2 Change). Send existing feet to HRS with directions as to what
load range is required. HRS will then change and clean the existing feet and ship back to the
customer. Current price list is for 4 feet. Please see HRS for pricing if a different number of feet
need to be changed.
Option 2:
4 New HRS Isolators: HRS will send 4 new feet to customer. Current price list is for 4 feet.
Please see HRS for pricing if a different number of feet need to be changed.

Depending on system component and configuration, HRS has a number of different primary
footers to optimize performance. These can vary from grounded G3X feet to normal high
performance SF2 models as well as our SFL model, which is used when different target frequency
is desired by our engineers to gain best performance.

G3X – Used where low and mid band grounding and damping is optimal. Best for components
such as larger transformer based power systems, tape machines and where the component chassis
may be very active.

SF2 – Excellent for very wide range of application Best starting point for majority of components.

SFL – Used in custom applications where a different system’s natural frequency is determined to
be the best options for a specific technical reason when compared to the SF2

When ordering either Option 1 or Option 2 please include the following:
1. The existing base including size, load range, color and component if it is a custom set up. (ex.

R3X-1921-RD-B , M3X-1923-AMGV12, S1-1719-BL-S).
2. The load range or component that will be going on the new set up.

Vortex

• Currently available in one size (V150, V150A), the V150 is a fixed height of 1.5” while the
V150A has an adjustable height centered on 1.5”. A two inch version will become available mid
2016. The Vortex is designed to be in direct contact with the chassis, not under existing
component feet. The Vortex are designed to be ordered in sets of 4 but can also be ordered
separately. 1 set includes 3 – V150 and 1 - V150A. Three fixed height Vortex’s (V150) are the
number of fixed height units that should be used under a chassis to make sure that the system is
stable. After placing 3 of the V150 fixed height Vortex’s under a chassis, then each additional
Vortex added after the first 3 must be the adjustable V150A model. This will ensure intimate
contact between each Vortex unit and the bottom chassis of the component.

Small Components (less than 100 square inches):
Three fixed Vortex (V150) are required to make component stable. Do not use less than 3 fixed
units.

Normal Components (approximately 150 square inches and larger):
HRS strongly recommends using more than three units to obtain maximum performance. Each
unit above a quantity of 3 must be the adjustable Vortex (V150A).

• The VXR Audio Stand frames are available for two stock isolation base sizes (For custom size

VXR-1719 is designed to fit isolation bases sized 19”w x 17”d (48cm w x 43cm d)

a first order basis. As we transition production to our new HRS VXR Reference Level Audio Stand,
the existing MXR will become unavailable sometime during 2017. Size and finish will also become

Ordered separately not included in price of frame

• The R-Series Shelf can be used at any location in an RXR frame. It can be used at a location in the
RXR frame where there is no need for an HRS Isolation Base. The R-Series Shelf is used as an
alternative to the isolation base. You select either the R-Series Shelf or one of the HRS Isolation
Bases for each location in the frame.

• The R-Series Shelf is available for both RXR-1921 Frame Size and RXR-1719 Frame Size as well
as RXR-2123-2 Frame Size

• The R-Series Shelf is available in black and silver finish. This finish is identical the top surface of
the R3X Isolation Base Series of products

• When ordering, please specify the R-Series Shelf as follows:
