Here we are again, the RDFC Showcase 2018, a very warm welcome to you all.

Rushby Dance and Fitness is now into its 8th year. We have always and continue to endeavour to provide
something for everyone, and love being part of all of your dance and fitness journeys.

Ballroom and Latin continues to grow and we continue to set the standard in the UK. Congratulations to you
all for another successful competition season.

It’s very encouraging to see the theatre department growing ever stronger, and again our standard is
extremely high. Our Grades, Prelims and Group of the Year Competition were again fabulous this year and
our Performer of the Year preparations are well under way.

Our other dance and fitness departments continue to flourish and we are so pleased you all love and enjoy
your classes. We love our RDFC Family.

My love and thanks to my family, my team and to you for your help, support and belief!

I look forward to seeing you all soon at another RDFC event! In the meantime sit back, relax and enjoy the

“When I first came to RDFC I was 2 years old. I used to love my weekly hour of fun in
Mr Teds with Jayne. Six years on and the centre is now my second home. I attend lots
of classes including Hip Hop, It’s Showtime, Cheerdance, Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Gym.
I love them all! I am a member of the Warrior Wasps Cheer Team and recently competed
at Group of the Year with my fellow Tap Team friends. It was an Epic day. When I grow
up I want to be famous!”

DAISY JONES

Daisy is 3 years old and joined RDFC when she was just 15 months old. She began in
Gym Tots and then joined Ballet and Tap shortly after. She performed in her first show at
2 years old and this was when she found her love for the stage! She started Cheerdance

lessons following this show and joined Hunnie Bees Cheer Team. She now also enjoys
attending Acro and Hip Hop lessons on a Saturday morning. Daisy has participated in

numerous UKA Awards and has complete a BAGA Award at every opportunity.
She spends the majority of her time at home practising for her lessons, exams and
competitions. She has grown with confidence, strength and determination and has made

many new friends along the the way. RDFC is Daisy’s favourite place to be, even
attending lessons 5 days a week just isn’t enough in her eyes!

“I started dancing age 2 at Rushby’s I’m Chrissy’s Tweenies class and took my first
dance medal in 2007. Over my dancing years I have achieved many awards, trophies
and accolades, two of my proudest moments are being crowned Nationwide Champion
at just 5 years old and dancing with my team mates at the Royal Albert Hall. I currently
take part in Hip Hop, Ballroom, Latin, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, En Pointe, Cycle Fit and Gym

classes at RDFC and compete in most of the above styles.
My favourite dance styles are Cheerdance, Tap and Ballroom, starting dance at such a
young age has given me so many amazing opportunities and friends I know I will have

for a lifetime. I don’t know where I would be without RDFC, it’s my family!”

GOLDEN GIRLS

“Afternoons have never been the same since our starting Golden Girls
exercise class. We love the fun, laughter and friendship afforded by this
group. It’s is a great workout for the brain and body with a variety of well
constructed routines expertly demonstrated by Clare who gives us
constant support and encouragement! Thank you Clare!”

ISABELLA HOLMES

“I have been a part of the RDFC team for 7 years. I have learnt so many things thanks to
all of my teachers. I started dancing in Mr Teds Fun Club and now take part in Ballet,
Tap, Jazz, Ballroom and Latin. I enjoy dancing so much, I dance wherever I go! I have
learnt and continue to learn great life skills like teamwork and socialising and have
gained a lot of confidence. Thank you Rushby’s!”

BETHANY VANNET

“I began my dance journey 12 years ago at the age of 6. My first class was a cheer dance lesson in
which my friend to this day Lucy Peck recommended. Ever since that lesson my styles of dance
have grown in variety from Cheerdance and Hip Hop to Rock N Roll and many fitness classes. I
have also been welcomed into to the Latin in Line dance class on a Thursday morning which has
been fab! Being part of the RDFC family for so many years has allowed me to become the person I
am today and make friends for life in which I’ve grown up with. Not only friends of my age but
younger and older girls that I love to spend time with and dance alongside representing our team at
competitions. Dance has allowed me to express myself, feel a sense of worth and build my self
confidence. I’m privileged to have been taught so many skills and been given amazing opportunities
that I’ll remember for life. Not only has my dancing brought so many positive memories but it has
encouraged me as a person to be confident at college and work. This has given me the chance to
be honoured with a work placement at The Ritz London! Im so excited and will be working within the
front services department. I’m so grateful to be part of the RDFC family and to have met the people
I have along the way which I know will be there for life. Dance will always be a part of my life and I
love everyone that’s been part of it.”

ANGIE HOGARTH

“Hi I’m Angie, sometimes known as Nanna Ang. I have been dancing since I was 18 (when even
back then Chris was my dance teacher). I had a break while I had my children and picked

dancing up again in my 40s when Chris opened her own school. I have been non stop dancing
ever since and take part in Sequence, Ballroom, Latin, Cheerdance and Tap classes at the centre
and also compete in Ballroom, Latin, Sequence and Cheer (I’m an original member of RDFC Divas
you know). Alongside dance classes I also take part in Kettlercise and Pilates sessions which I love!
Dancing at Rushby’s is part of being of belonging to a large extended family, it is time for me to forget
about everything else and have a couple of stress free hours, as well as ultimately taking time out of

my day to just enjoy myself! I can’t ever imagine my life without dancing!”

HOLLY & SOPHIE SIMMONS

Sophie and Holly started dancing at Rushby’s just after they turned 3. They do Ballet, Tap
and Gym Tots and both have lots of fun. Holly likes Gym because she enjoys all the
different things she does and Sophie likes all three because she just love dancing. Sophie
and Holly both look up to all the staff who are very friendly and great role models for the
girls. The girls always come out of their classes with smiles!

ANGELA & DAVE WADDINGHAM

We have been taking Ballroom, Latin and Sequence lessons at RDFC for nearly three years.
Thanks to Chris’s patience and skill I’m teaching we are living proof that you are never too old to
learn and it’s fun. Our confidence has grown immeasurably alongside a still increasing repertoire of
Sequence dances. A Foxtrot being played no longer sees Dave heading for the hills! I have also
been infected by the joy in all forms of dance evident at RDFC and was inspired a few months ago

to wipe 60 plus years of dust from my tap shoes! I love it - Thank You Megan!
