show, is a long-standing theatre tradition. Before the next opening,
a memento of the show is placed on the rob, cast members add Jacquelyn, Quintin, Phillip,
their signatures, and the Gypsy Robe is ready to bless the next and KB
show. A fully-adorned robe becomes a glorious, three-dimensional
scrapbook of opening nights.
The cast and crew for each show stands in a circle in eager
anticipation, a name is announced and the robe is presented to the
chorus member with the most Broadway credits. A traditional cere-
mony follows: the honored gypsy, now wearing the robe, circles the
stage three times (counterclockwise only!), and everyone reaches
out to touch the robe for luck. The gypsy, still wearing the robe,
walks through the house (audience space) then the show is blessed!
Athens Little Playhouse has begun it’s own version of the Gypsy
Robe tradition for the opening night performance. Although our
Gypsy Robe is based on the Broadway tradition, our approach
varies slightly. Our “gypsy” has been selected by the cast of our
show. We hope you enjoy this new tradition, and we hope you
enjoy this production.

Hi. My name is Caroline and I'm fourteen and going into ninth grade at North
Oconee. I enjoy music and TV. I now have done two shows at ALPS and I'm
excited to perform.

Olivia Bracewell · Penny Pingleton · Press Committee
Olivia is fourteen years old and attends North Oconee High School. She is in the
ninth grade, and loves to dance, read, and write fictional stories. She has been
in a number of other shows including Cinderella (title role), Grease (Marty), and
High School Musical (Ripper). She would like to thank Phillip and Kimberlee for
this opportunity, and she hopes you enjoy the show!

Zoe Brient · Ensemble · Tech Committee
Zoe is 12 years old and in the 7th grade at Athens Montessori School. She loves
to play outdoors, dance, and animals. This is my first play at ALPS, and she has
enjoyed it very much.

Leia Brown · Ensemble · Tech Committee
Leia Brown is twelve years old. She is going into the 7th grade. She goes to
school at Madison County Middle school. She plays the clarinet in her school
band. She also enjoys taking care of animals. Acting allows her to be anything.
She loves performing at ALPS. She says thank you to the teachers at ALPS for
making her more confident and providing her with love and support in this craft.

Skyler Brown · Link Larkin · Tech Committee
Hi. I'm Skyler Brown. I'm fourteen and go to Madison County High School. I
love to sing, run, and play soccer. Other plays I have been in are Grease and
Shoemaker.

Cameron Buttrick · Ensemble · Tech Committee
Hi, I’m Cameron. I am 12 years old and going into the 7th grade. This is my 11th
play here. Some of the plays I have been in include Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh,
and Cinderella. I enjoy acting, singing, dancing, and of course ALPS. I’m so
excited to be a Hairspray chick. Enjoy the show!

Hi, I’m Colby and I’m going into the 10th grade at Oconee County High School.
This is my 7th year at ALPS and I am so happy to be a part of Hairspray! Thanks so
much to Phillip and Kimberlee, and I hope you enjoy the show!

Macy Christian · Ensemble · Fundraising Committee
I, Macy Christian, am currently a fourteen-year-old freshman going to North
Oconee High School. In my free time, I take interest in drawing, music,
singing, and theater. I hope one day to take all these hobbies into my dream
of becoming an elementary school music teacher. This production, being my
thirteenth in total, is my first performance at ALPS. I have so far very much
enjoyed my time here, and I am very excited about participating in future
ALPS productions.

include theater and video games. I have done too many plays here to count.

have been involved in four productions at ALPS (including Hairspray). I enjoy

Hey there! The name is AJ, and I'm a little bit new to the playhouse crew, but
I believe we'll get along quite all right. I'm eighteen, graduated from Clarke
Central High School, and completing my degree at Athens Technical College.
I enjoy academics, athletics, and spending time with my family (friends
included). This is going to be epic, and I hope that you enjoy our hard work.

Hallai Ferrer · Motormouth Maybelle · Fundraising Committee
Hello! My name is Hallai! I'm 15 years of age and a sophomore at Clarke
Central High School. I love to sing, act (as you can tell), design clothes, and
draw. This is my 5th play that I have done here, and I am glad to be a part of
it, especially with my older brother. I hope the production brings as much of
an upbeat, hip vibe to you as it did to me. Enjoy the show.

Leah Frantz · Velma Von Tussle · Tech Committee
Leah is 17 and in August will be attending Sanford University as a college
freshman. She is interested in singing, acting, reading, biology, and traveling.
She has also done Cinderella, Sleepy Hollow (Katrina), Peter Pan, Scooby Doo
(Daphne), Grease (Frenchie), and Bye Bye Birdie (Rose Alvarez). She says:
"Sadly, this is most likely my last performance at ALPS so I hope everyone
enjoys the play and the theater that has come to be my family."

Sara Frantz is thirteen years old. She is attending Prince Avenue and is going I'm Holly, I'm 14, and I will be a freshman at North Oconee High School. This
