Fire Drill

IN CASES OF FIRE, THE ALARM MUST BE GIVEN AT ONCE
AND THE LOCATION OF THE FIRE REPORTED TO THE OFFICE
RECEPTIONIST (EXT. 0) WHO WILL CALL THE FIRE BRIGADE.
The alarm will consist of three continuous rings of the Fire Alarm Bell
supplemented by the Fire Akarm Klaxon.
Pupils must exit buildings according to the instructions displayed in each room.
Pupils should leave behind their personal items and must not run but walk
quickly in silence.
Pupils must proceed quickly, under the instruction of their class or set teacher,
to the Assembly Point on the grassy area behind and facing Way Hall. Pupils
are to line up in tutor groups, with the Sixth Form nearest the Swimming Pool.
Tutors will check that all pupils are present and then report to the Second
Master.
If the alarm sounds outside of class or form time, all pupils must proceed
immediately to the Assembly Point on the same field facing Way Hall, where a
check in Tutor Groups will be made by the tutor.
It is imperative that pupils follow these instructions in the event of a fire or fire
drill, as their safety is of the utmost importance.
If you see a fire or smoke where you believe it shouldn’t be, you should tell a
member of staff immediately. Do not put yourself in danger by attempting to
tackle a fire yourself.
