GRADUATION ADDRESS
The Graduation Ceremony Chairman

Prommin Lertsuridej, M.D.
Graduation Ceremony Shinawatra University

Friday, 21st January 2022

Distinguished Members of the University Council, Mr. President, University
Executives, Faculty Members, Honored Guests, and Graduating Students:

It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to this prestigious Graduation
Ceremony. Firstly, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations on the well-
deserved success and my best wishes to all the graduating students.

You are now crossing the threshold into this new path of your journey in life.
However, the world is changing quite rapidly. With the new normal ways of life
and online learning around the world under the widespread threat of Covid-19
and its variants, as you continue along your career path, you will need to delete
the obsolete ways of doing things, challenge your abilities and beliefs, disrupt
yourself, and adapt to the changing world.

Apparently, you can now see that disruptive technologies have paved the way for
the world of tomorrow. Things have changed or started to change at an exponential
rate. We, as active learners, need to learn these new technologies such as cybernetics,
artificial intelligence, Crypto Currency, NFT, AR and VR and blockchain technology
and apply this knowledge and merge it into our lifestyle and behavior patterns. In or-
der to make the right choices and decisions in the world of digital disruption, we need
the skills of critical thinking and media literacy to move forward. We need to prepare
ourselves to live and survive in the metaverse, as it is going to be our new ecosystem.

On a grand scale, I would like to reiterate the significance of education for all and
all for education, healthcare for all, with the prevention and cure of deadly diseases,
for example, Covid-19 and its variants, more sustainable development, greenhouse
effects, and saving our planet for future generations. The current ecological crisis all
over the world drives us to go green and care more for our ecological environment.
Solar and wind energy, crop rotation, efficient water management, and green space
are still the leading models for us to follow. Therefore, we, need to stay motivated,
think globally, and act more locally.

Finally, I would like to end my remarks with my best wishes for all of you, my
dearest graduating students of Shinawatra University, every success and happiness
in the balance of your life and work. Once again, my sincere congratulations to all
of you!

Thank You.

GRADUATION WELCOME ADDRESS
By the President

Graduation Ceremony Shinawatra University
Friday, 21st January 2022

Chairman of the Graduation Ceremony, University Council Members,

Today is another important day in the history of Shinawatra University. It is

Firstly, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations on the well-deserved
success and my best wishes to all the graduates.

This year also marks the twenty-second anniversary of the University’s
foundation and its seventeenth graduation ceremony.

It cost quite a lot of efforts of all of us to be here. Due to the Covid-19
pandemic, all the students and lecturers have to bare a lot of difficulties during
past 2 years. We can not discuss our papers face to face in the classroom, can
not enjoy a meal shoulder to shoulder after hard work, can not share our hap-
piness and sadness ear to ear while we need to. But eventually we Shinawatra
University just passed through all the chaos and difficulties to hold the on-site
ceremony.

Again, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our 163 graduates
from six nationalities: Thailand, Nepal, Myanmar, China, Somalia, and
Bangladeshi, particularly our eight foreign graduates from Nepal, Myanmar,
and Bangladesh who have come to join us here today. Thank you for your
dedication to the university. And I also show my gratitude for all the
supportive friends and lecturers from abroad, such as Prof. Yang Hepin, Prof
Zhu Yongbei, Prof. Han Ren, they devote their efforts to ensure the success of
the graduates.

On this special occasion, may I invite the Chairman of the Graduation
Ceremony, Prommin Lertsuridej, M.D. the former vice chairman of the
university council, on the stage to present the degree certificates to all new
graduates of Shinawatra University, thank you.

Speech by Mr. Soe Myint Than

Graduate’s Representative

WISDOM and VIRTUE ---- two great legacies we are embracing today.
Thank you so much, chairman of the graduation ceremony, Mr. President,
members of the University Council, and university executives for providing us a
quality educational foundation that generates alumni with great wisdom.
Most sincere appreciation to our faculty members for providing us with a support-
ive environment that allowed us to achieve success with virtues to live by. Deepest
gratitude to our honorable guests for celebrating with us today. Great credit to our
families and friends for supporting us in reaching our goals. Above all, congratula-
tions fellow graduates for being an inspiration today.
Let’s go back to that time when we were still planning our university life. What
were the questions you asked yourself?
Where’s the right university? Will I fit in there?
What’s the right course? Will the course still be relevant in the future?
The questions we asked ourselves were gladly answered. We entered the doors
of Shinawatra University. It exhibited its own personality profile - “it feels like
home”. Students, faculty members, and staff are treated like family members. We
comfortably fitted in.
The courses offered were aligned with our interests. They were designed not only
for us to learn job-specific skills but have prepared us to be practically competitive
in an ever-changing world. SIU’s wisdom created the right set of circumstances for
us. This has allowed us to utilize the opportunities available for us.
FLet’s now think about the overall university experience we had.
What did we enjoy?
We were exposed to a new environment. We made new international classmates.
We were able to study freely and happily. We tried together. We walked through it
together. We achieved together. We have set a milestone by ourselves.

Today we can all celebrate in this Graduation Hall.
The dedication and enthusiasm of our faculty members encouraged us to take full
advantage of the lectures, the discussions, the assignments, the exams, and of course,
the holidays!
They had been motivating us to direct our energies towards learning while hav-
ing fun. They did not only help us to learn, but they also made us a better person.
Fellow graduates, here we are reflecting on our journey. What’s next? How can we
build a well-rounded approach to life?
Let’s reinforce the wisdom that we received from SIU. Let’s create the right place
where we can share our learning experience with others. Welcome those who are
willing to share their experience with us. Let them feel they fit in.
Let’s also share our knowledge and expertise. Remember, it’s no longer about us.
It’s now about developing others. Align our skills to their interest. Let our wisdom
radiate by allowing them to maximize every opportunity we open for them.
Let’s express the virtues that we acquired during our university journey. The
virtue of thankfulness brings contentment. Be grateful for what we have, just how we
liked the food at the canteen. Appreciate what we see, just how we admired the trees
around. Be glad of the friendship we created and let’s generously offer friendship to
others.
We were blessed to have passionate educators who inspired us with real-life
lessons. They made us trust that we can learn while having fun. Let’s be an inspira-
tion to others too by having fun in what we are doing. Let ourselves be the proof that
happiness leads to success.
It’s remarkable to witness everyone’s achievement today. We all deserve to cele-
brate.
What’s more inspiring is to see how amazing everyone will be in sharing the wis-
dom we received and by living by the virtues of life we developed.

Congratulations and success are yours!

The Oath of Shinawatra University Graduates
