Six Important
Questions To Ask
Before Selecting
A Cremation Provider
FUNERAL HOMES CREMATION
An Important Decision
Although cremation dates back thousands of
years, only in recent time has it gained popularity
in the United States. Our experience, after years
of meeting with families, is that most families
have little knowledge about cremation and are
unaware of what to look for when selecting
a cremation provider.
Unfortunately, what you don't know about
cremation can create significant problems. That is
why we are providing this brochure highlighting
six important questions to consider when selecting
a cremation provider. We tr ust in knowing these
questions, and their answers, your family will be
better informed and able to make the decision
that is best for your family.
Six Important Questions
1 Will the cremation be performed
on-site or by a distant or third-
party crematory?
2 Can you tour and inspect the
crematory?
3 Will the family be provided the
opportunity to say their last
good-byes prior to the cremation?
4 Can the family be present at the
crematory during the cremation?
5 How long has the crematory been
in business?
6 What options are available for
memorialization of the remains?
The Greenwood Difference
MORE THAN A FUNCTION OR SERVICE — IT IS A SACRED
RESPONSIBILITY.
For more than 100 years, we at Greenwood have worked daily to:
• HONOR the life and memory of the deceased
• RESPECT every family’s wishes, and
• PROTECT our century-old reputation of trust.
To insure this history of trust, our crematories ONLY perform
cremations for Greenwood Funeral Homes and Cremation.
STATE-OF-THE-ART CREMATORIES IN FORT WORTH
AND ARLINGTON.
In 2003, Greenwood opened its Fort Worth crematory for the
exclusive use of families served by Greenwood Funeral Homes
and Cremation.
In 2013, a second crematory was opened adjacent to our
Arlington Chapel to better serve the greater Arlington, Grand
Prairie and Mansfield areas.
YOU'RE ALWAYS WELCOME.
We have found that many families find it comforting to visit the
crematory prior to a cremation. Although some firms may not allow
this practice, we welcome such an opportunity.
THE IMPORTANCE OF SAYING GOODBYE.
Saying goodbye is part of the healing process. That's why
we offer every family the opportunity for one last private
time of farewell in one of our beautiful staterooms at no
additional charge.
Most crematories DO NOT provide families the
opportunity to be present at the crematory during the
cremation process. Many find this to be a special time
together, and it is a service we are pleased to provide.
KNOW YOUR MEMORIALIZATION OPTIONS.
Cremation actually increases the options and opportunities
for meaningful memorialization. That's why it is important for
a family to know what is available. At Greenwood, you have
the added convenience that in one visit – to one location –
you can make all your decisions to include:
• Placement in a single urn, companion urn or multiple urns
• Burial of all or a portion of the remains in a cemetery
or placement in a mausoleum
• Scattering of all or a portion of the remains
• Placement in a temporary urn, and/or
• The opportunity of retaining a portion of the remains to
be placed in a memorial keepsake necklace or other jewelry
