General description Assessment Time Frame & Scope: This was regular full monitoring (Semi-announced) that started at 09:00 on January 30, 2022, and ended at 16:00 on January 31, 2022. Main production processes include sample development > knitting > dyeing > dyeing finishing > cutting > printing > embroidery > sewing > finishing > quality > packing. As per the management statement, the production capacity for garments is 99.84 lacs pieces per annum, for knitting 20-ton/day, for dyeing 18-ton/day, for all-over print (AOP) 3 ton/day, and for embroidery 30,000 pieces/day. On behalf of the Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety, I am writing regarding the results of the CAP Closure Verification Visit of Polo Composite Knit Industry Ltd. FFC ID 9443 conducted by the Alliance on 10 December 2018. Correction of all remediation non-compliances noted during this visit were corrected on 23 December 2018. Your CAP Closure Verification Visit Final Training Assessment was completed on 10 December 2018. Based on the findings of that visit, your factory’s status has been rated as “Substantial Completion”. This mean that your factory has substantially completed the initial Corrective Action Plan (CAP) and currently is in good standing with respect to required training. This also represents the starting point for creating a sustainable culture of safety within your factory. The CAP Closure Verification Visit was conducted to confirm the completion of corrective actions to remediate noncompliance with the Alliance Standard in each of three critical areas: structural integrity, electrical safety and fire safety that were identified during initial inspections; the structural integrity inspection was conducted on 9 June 2018 and the fire safety and electrical safety inspections conducted on 10 June 2014 by Bureau Veritas. Additional initial inspections were conducted on co-located, linked factory businesses Aji Apparels Industry Ltd. Alliance FFC ID 11118 and FRM Fashion House Ltd. Alliance FFC ID 11119 on 09 October 2017 by BD Technology. During this visit an assessment of implementation and impact of Basic Fire Safety and Helpline training to all workers was performed. This was documented in the Corrective Action Plans (CAP) for your factory approved by the Alliance on 11 March 2015 and 22 April 2018. Aji Apparels Industry Ltd. FFC ID 11118 & FRM Fashion House Ltd. FFC ID 11119 were originally co-located in an eight storied building attached by a single storied connected building. Prior to CAP Closure the connected building was demolished which allowed Polo Composite Knit Industry Ltd. to be CAP Closed separately from these businesses. Additionally, factory management has provided evidence accepted by the Alliance that Aji Apparels Industry Ltd. Alliance FFC ID 11118 is closed. The remaining factory business FRM Fashion House Ltd. Alliance FFC ID 11119 is remediating under the Accord. FRM Fashion House was also separated from Polo Composite Knit Industry Ltd. FFC ID 9443 by a boundary wall. This boundary wall was not a remediation requirement of the Alliance.
