48 As our teams Marketing Manager creativity has been an
essential part of my work, designing innovative ways to
ww.femalefitness.com establish brand awareness and initiate our companies
marketing plan. My previous experience in marketing
and design is shown throughout my work, checkout the
marketing mood board for examples.

As well as this I created our primary survey to collect
and analyse the data, in order to understand the needs
of our target market and how similar existing gyms
operate and market themselves to establish our unique
selling point being All-Female and 24/7.

I have gained greater understanding into planning a
business and service in comparison to just a product.
This has been both and exciting and challenging project
overall. All of our group meeting were carried out online
through the use of Zoom or Microsoft Teams this was
difficult to organise at times due to everyone’s
schedules, nonetheless it was extremely easy to show
and share content and have a value discussion.

During current circumstances relating to COVID-19 we
have faced many challenges as a team yet managed to
overcome almost every obstacle with ease. We have
further developed our communication skills and our
relations by working as a team to research, plan,
discuss & present our ideas and finding together for the
group project.

2021 MATTHEW OLADELE.

I strive to be as creative, consistent and
encourage as I can be with my teammates, as I
knew from the beginning that our project
requires focus and enjoyment at the same time.
Considering it is a service that we have provided
for our customers which meant we had to
implement different areas of business to our
project i.e. legal licensing, different marketing
strategies etc... I understood that our project
would require structure and careful thought
process, hence why I made sure that all team
members were cooperating with each other,
explaining any problems they may have faced or
are facing.

2021 As HR director for our research project about an
‘All-Female gym’. I have learnt that it takes
50 everyone’s own perspective of how things should
go in order for the project to be very effective
ww.femalefitness.com towards audiences and to ourselves. HR directors
have an overall responsibility for three key areas:
culture, capabilities and talent. Each area highlights
what a business needs to be successful as well as
having the right attributes to grow further. I have
inherited this as my overall goal was to ensure that
everyone in the team was comfortable in what the
tasks was set for them and that we all understood
the criteria we gave ton ourselves, which was
planning our routes before producing the final
results at the end of every tasks, during regular
meetings. So it was not just completing the tasks
that I have been given, it was more acknowledging
my team mates roles and aiding them if they
needed any assistance.

Being part of the group was not at all stressful as I
made it clear that I will be there to heighten a sense
of excitement and to a small extent entertainment.
Since working under strict guidelines with no sense
of personality being brought, in will demotivate
everyone in the group to do any work to their best
ability. So from my perspective, by bringing
enjoyment to the crucial project we undertook was
really effective and still is. Since it sparked my other
team members to do the same and bring their own
enjoyable personality to the group. Making the
project less stressful, more engaging.

Furthermore, not only did personality make the
project easier and enjoyable, it’s the fact that during
my research of the 16 personalities of my team
members, really reflected on who they are as a
person during the projects. As we all have that
dictatorship attribute which worked in the roles we
were assigned to. For example, my dictatorship
attribute eased out when I knew how to get the
whole team ready for the project, and that was
through communicating with them on a personal

As part of Female Fitness’ Finance Director, I
was to oversee the business’ finances. I tried
to help out any of my teammates with their
tasks that they needed help with, as some
tasks were relatively overlapping with the
departments so in some instances it was
quicker to work together and come to a certain
conclusion and decision on what would be
needed. I never really had any much
experience within such a role before – so it was
definitely something unfamiliar, however I
adapted quickly and overcame any problems
that faced me with the necessary research and
ask the correct people for help.

2021 Regarding the more so difficult parts of this role was the
breakeven analysis along with the revenue forecasting as
52 an in-depth study was needed to be conducted to explore
and learn how to complete these two tasks. Thus, learning
www.femalefitness.com how to calculate the contribution margin as well as what a
breakeven is able to present within data and how it is a
potential business indicator to accentuate if the number of
sales and costs will lead to a profit. Moreover, another
hurdle that needed to be overcome was the amount of
research that was undergone to look into possible
locations, pay of these locations, gym assets, different
type of funding that could be used etc as this was all vital
for the finance section in order to get data (statistics and
figures) to either compare or use them for our business
plan.

The finance section was mostly completed by myself with
the help of the operations and managing directors with the
location and gym equipment pay, as it was a difficult
process to find a suitable location to fulfil our expectations
as well as with pricing as some places were more than
definitely very expensive especially within certain areas
such as London – so our search would have had to narrow
down to specific locations such as Manchester,
Birmingham, Leeds etc where prices were relatively more
affordable for our budgeting standards. The location was
also taken into consideration to its crime rates as since the
idea of a female gym is solely based on female security it
would be more appealing for women to join, if the area is
in a higher risk of crime, which slightly led into me helping
the managing director and marketing director within these
areas.

It was certainly most enjoyable when completing the
revenue forecasting sales section as it gave me an insight
on the amount of gym memberships that needed to be
accumulated to reach a certain amount of profit for each
month, and I was able to play around with these figures to
give me a better understanding of what would be expected
in terms of gym memberships. Lastly, the prices in regard
to locations also seemed very interesting as we were able
to compare how cheap and expensive certain areas were
and where running costs would be cheaper to set up our

Going into this CREATE assessment I felt quite
optimistic and enthusiastic about doing this
team project. I previously read the assessment
brief and was looking forward to complete the
task of building our own business. Due to
COVID our ideas could be hypothetical but sill
had to be realistic.

This gave us more freedom to be more
creative and use our imagination which is good
in a team environment as we can share and
adapt to each other’s ideas. I’ve always
enjoyed working in group but at the same time
I was nervous because I wouldn’t be in the
same group as I was in semester one. This
assessment gave me an opportunity to meet
new people who were from the other class.

Whilst I knew our financial director ( Mihai)
and operations director ( Kishaan), through
this project I met our marketing director (
Michael) and our human resources director (
Matt) and by the end of this assessment we
were all comfortable with each other. This is
because we not only talked about the work
during our meetings but we also talked about
our personal lives and got to know each other
really well. This made the work more enjoyable
as we could all openly make improvements and
provide constructive criticism to each other
with the intention of making the work better
without there being tension. We all had the
same end goal for this project which meant
everyone in group put all their efforts in when
doing their own section.

54 As managing director, I was in charge of the executive
summary which would be placed at the beginning of our
ww.femalefitness.com business plan. Prior to this, we had many discussion
during the live sessions and in our own time about
coming up with new products or services and we then
decided to pitch the ideas to each other. In the end, we
collectively decided the all-female gym idea would be a
unique business to start and our module leader agreed
to this decision.

During the same meeting we had our pitches, we also
decided roles within our group and this was easy as
everyone had a role in mind which was different to each
other. I picked the role of a manging director and in my
section there was a lot group input because this was
the foundations and the base of our business. We
brainstormed many ideas about what our logo would like
but when it came to executing through with our ideas
and making the logo they left it to me. We decided the
mission, vision and value statement together but I did
the USP and the marketing mix. This meant my section
was the first to finish which gave me the opportunity to
help the others with their section. An example of this is
when I helped Michael with the marketing section by
doing SWOT analysis and part of competitor analysis. I
would motivate my group and make sure that everybody
was on the right track.

Overall we showed great team work skills and I learnt a
lot from my peers. I managed to make some good friends
on this foundation course from doing this task and I really
appreciate the amount of effort each of them put in this
project.

2021 KISHAAN THURAI.

I strive to be an organised and efficient
individual that has an eye for detail and
perfectionism who also likes to push
themselves and does as much as I can. Thus, I
put myself forward for the role of being the
Operations Director as that is where my key
skills lie and would prove beneficial to the team
as I knew that organisation was to prove vital to
ensure that all of the requirements were met
and to ensure that progress would not stagnate.
This is goes in hand with exactly what my
personality type showed when I did the
personality test and the result showed as me
being a Turbulent Defender.

2021 As Operations Director, I was quickly to copy to create and share a
Google calendar outlining all the key deadlines and scheduled team
56 meetings as a visual aid for deadlines to keep the team on track. This
can viewed from page 87 onwards. In terms of the individual
ww.femalefitness.com requirements, whilst they were assigned to specific roles as part of the
assessment criteria, I felt like this would be inefficient as many of the
requirements could not be completed later on, creating uneven
workloads for the entire duration of the module. This, I assigned
individual tasks to everyone on a rolling basis as I knew whose strengths
lay where and according to their work rate. This helped us to make
consistent progress with high quality work. This also ties in nicely with
our centralised and decentralised team structure as everyone did each
other’s tasks according to their strengths. Also, this removed some of
the stress and burden from my fellow team members as it would reduce
their workload which would then lead them to produce a better-quality
piece of work for their designated task for the group.

I created a document on Google Documents with updating work
documents to keep track of progress and to help me best support and
assist my group with the aspect of the business plan they were working
on at the time and work collaboratively. I also created a group on
Microsoft Teams to schedule in team meetings as we switched over
from using Zoom for easier accessibility and to share various files easily.
Needless to say, there have been difficulties with adapting to everyone’s
schedules as everyone had jobs to go to and other commitments but
still managed to organised meetings and tracked progress.

Aside from leading the group, I also contributed to the business with my
IT skills. I was the one who created the design of the business plan and
did the formatting and inputting the business plan onto the website that
the Marketing Director (Michael) created.

During these unprecedented times, it has been difficult to work as a
team and meeting team deadlines, but, the regular calls and messages
and constantly sending work and keep one another up to date, ensure
that it is still a group project and that everyone was able to produce work
to the best of their abilities. Not only this, I face several challenges in my
personal life which brought me significant stress as well as nearly losing
all of my group’s work as my hard drive corrupted nearing towards the
deadline date, however, thanks to the help of my team members, I
managed to power through being determined to finish the business to
