She began dancing in ballet with Miss Laurie at Curtain Call but soon figured out she had a passion for tap. She has been tapping ever since. Later on Hannah began taking Jazz classes which gave her new opportunities and learning experiences. Hannah will be graduating from Brownsburg High school where she has taken many Academic Honors classes and tried her hand in many art classes like photography, painting, and drawing. Her favorite class has been her AP Art History class which sparked a new interest of hers. Hannah will be attending IUPUI in the fall where she plans to major in Art History and explore more about the art of the world. Hannah would like to thank Miss Laurie for being with her throughout her time in exploring dance and all the joy it brings her. Hannah also thanks her whole family for all the love and support they have given her. My name is Annalise Dugle, and I have been a part of the Curtain Call family since I was 3 years old. I have been in Performing Company for 11 years, and I have been in the studio’s production of the Nutcracker for 13 years. This past year I was blessed with my dream role of the Sugar Plum Fairy which made my senior year extra special. Curtain Call has not only brought me the gift of dance, but it has also brought me life long friendships. Without growing up in the Curtain Call family, I would not have become who I am today. My dance teachers have given me so much more than the ability to dance. They have changed my perspective of life, and I wake up more grateful to be a part of this community every day. I have taken jazz, ballet, pointe, tap, musical theatre, hip hop, and modern throughout my dance career, but my favorite will always be jazz. My favorite performance at Curtain Call has always been DAC, and I am so glad we are able to do it again, especially since it’s my senior year. My family has been my biggest supporters and put me on this journey from the start, and for that I am eternally grateful. My future plans are to attend IUPUI to become an emotionally focused therapist. I have always found joy helping people and becoming a therapist has been my dream since I was 14 years old. I will miss my Curtain Call family deeply, but I know they will always be in my heart.

Wendy will be attending Marian University in the fall to pursue a bachelor degree in Psychology and Special Needs Education with a minor in Criminal Justice. Although she may be leaving Curtain Call, Wendy still plans on registering for Adult Open classes at the Indianapolis School of Ballet. She would like to thank Miss Michelle, Miss Madison, and Miss Sara for helping her grow her love of modern. She would like to thank Miss Katie for helping her through the tough times in ballet. And she would ultimately like to thank Miss Laurie for supporting her since the beginning. She will miss her Curtain Call family and all the friends she has made as she moves on to the next chapter! From my first year to now, the studio has provided me with so many diverse opportunities and experiences. I’m so glad I’ve gotten to share my love and passion for dance, not only with the studio, but with all different types of people and audiences. I’ll be forever grateful for my family, teachers, and friends who have gotten me to this point in my dance career and life. I would not be the person I am today without the support, love, and guidance I’ve received from them. It is safe to say that CCDC has been the greatest and most unforgettable experience. I’m beyond thankful for the time I’ve gotten to spend with this dance family, and I will never forget the home Curtain Call has created for me. 10 Year Dancer Graduating Senior

10 Year Dancer 10 Year Hannah Smitherman Dancer Izzie Reed Isabella Reed, also known as Izzie, is a talented and passionate dancer with over 10 years of experience. Her journey in the world of dance began at the young age of 2.5 years, when she was introduced to ballet classes that were originally meant for older children. However, her talent and dedication were quickly recognized, and she was accepted into the class without any hesitation. Since then, Izzie has been dancing her heart out and has become an accomplished performer. She has danced at various studios, including one in Kansas City, before settling down at the Curtain Call dance studio in Indianapolis, where she currently practices. Izzie’s favorite dance styles are jazz and modern, which allow her to express her creativity and showcase her unique style. One of the highlights of Izzie’s dancing journey has been her participation in the Nutcracker, where she has played various roles, including a mouse, daisy, party girl, bumble bee, and two solos: Fritz and a Doll. Her performances have always been appreciated by the audience, and she has been able to impress them with her grace, poise, and skill. Apart from her dancing prowess, Izzie has also developed strong bonds with her fellow dancers and has great admiration for her teachers. One of her most cherished moments is when her mother teaches zumba for core classes, and she gets to dance alongside her. As Izzie prepares for her upcoming solo performance, she is excited to showcase her talent and passion for dance. My name is Hannah Smitherman. I started dance when I was 2 years old in Miss Sara’s Ballet class. Through my years of dance, I have taken ballet, jazz, modern, and tap. I have been a part of Junior company and Senior company. I have had Miss Laurie, Miss Sara, Miss Michelle, Miss Katie, and Miss Grace. I have been able to participate in The Nutcracker in different roles such as bon-bon, angel, soldier, party boy, marionette, Arabian, party father, snowflake, and Chinese princess. I performed with Senior company at Disney World in 2017. I took a break from dance in 2017 when my mom was diagnosed with cancer. I came back to dance in 2022. I also had the opportunity to compete as a competitive cheerleader and made it to nationals in 2022. This year I was so excited to be able to join senior company again and work on pre-pointe. I have so appreciated coming back to dance. I want to thank all my teachers for everything they have taught me. I want to thank my parents for sacrificing for me to be able to take dance. Thank you to Miss Michelle for choreographing my solo. I want to thank God for giving me the ability to speak through dance. At Curtain Call you are not just learning dance, you are making friends, having people that will support you, and your dreams. In my combined ten years of dance, I have loved how I can communicate ideas, stories, thoughts, and emotions through dance. Curtain Call is a family.
Anna West Emma West Anna started dancing at Curtain Call when she was 3 years old. She started her first year with jazz then tried out ballet and tap. Anna then joined Junior Performing Company for 5 years, then moved into Senior Performing Company and is still dancing with them for her 3rd year. This past Nutcracker she got her dream role of being Clara! In the fall of 2023 she will be going into Brownsburg High School as a Freshman. Emma started dancing at Curtain Call when she was 7 years old, all the way back in 2013. In the up coming school year Emma will be a senior at Brownsburg High School. Since Emma has started at Curtain Call, she has joined Senior Performing Company and has been part of it for 8 years now. She has enjoyed all the years she has been in Company with all her friends. This year Ms. Michelle has given Emma the privilege of being team chaplain. Emma has also been able to be a part of Curtain Call’s annual Nutcracker. Some roles Emma has enjoyed are Spanish Princess, Nanny, and Russian Princess. Throughout Emma’s 10 years around Curtain Call’s halls she has tried ballet, jazz, musical theater, modern, pointe, and even some tap. Outside of dance Emma has been a part of BHS-TV which is the student led news at Brownsburg High School. Emma would like to thank Ms. Michelle, Ms. Laurie, Miss Grace, and all the other staff at Curtain Call for the BEST 10 years. 10 Year Dancer 10 Year Dancer
Abby Wisthoff Kaylin Wilson Abby took her first ballet class while in first grade. It was then that she found her second voice through movement. She jumped in with both feet to Jr Performing Company her second year and performed in The Nutcracker. With each year, Abby has added a different style or combination of styles of dance to her schedule. From ballet to jazz and tap to modern, Abby’s favorite style of dance is tap and boy does it show! Described by her teachers as a natural tapper, Abby is excited to leave it all out on stage and dance her 10 year solo to Billy Joel’s “Vienna”. She won both the CCDC and apprentice awards by the age of 11. Now 16 and eager to start her junior year at Cardinal Ritter High School, Abby carries a 4.0 GPA, is a contributing member of the yearbook, the Latin Club, and a student ambassador. Abby loves to write, play piano, and spend time with her puppy, Lorenzo. After high school, Abby hopes to study psychology and become a therapist. My name is Kaylin. Annalise, I cannot believe this is my last time writing you in a recital program. As I sit here trying to find the words my throat fills up with a lump as my eyes fill with tears. You have brought me so much joy watching you grow into this beautiful dancer.
