Honoring Her Spirit Linda C.(Finley) Taylor July 16, 1956 – July 14, 2023 Service Monday, July 24, 2023 Floral Park Cemetery - Washington Park Cemetery Association 425 N. Holt Road Indianapolis, IN 46222

Obituary Linda Carol (Finley) Taylor was born on July 16, 1956, to the late Clyde Finley and Alfrieda Sherels in Indianapolis, IN. She left this life on Friday, July 14, 2023, at home among family. At an early age, she accepted Christ and was baptized at All Friends Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN. Linda was no stranger to hard work and was a dedicated 37-year employee of General Motors (GM), retiring in 2022 from the Fort Wayne/Roanoke plant. Among her many passions in life, Linda loved shopping, reading hundreds of books, her dog Ressie, and granddog Macaroni. Above all else she treasured spending time with the loves of her life, “Her Girls” (daughters, granddaughters, and great-granddaughters). One of the many ways she would show “Her Girls” love was by cooking for them and making sure they were always well fed. In recent years, she had also become an avid gardener which came naturally to her as she loved being outdoors. Linda, affectionately called “The General”, enjoyed finding tasks that she would often recruit “Her Girls” into completing with her. These tasks were known to the family as “Piddlin” . She loved making people laugh whether it was intentionally or unintentionally, laughter was a huge part of our family. She leaves to cherish in memory “Her Girls” daughters Dawn Finley and Kelsey Williams, both of Fort Wayne, IN, granddaughters Zoë (DeVant’e) Carlisle of Fishers, IN and Yori Finley of Fort Wayne, IN, greatgranddaughters Nalia, Maleah and Layla Carlisle all of Fishers, IN, sisters Phyllis (Robert) Wells and Towanna Finley both of Indianapolis, IN and a host of family and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Finley and Alfrieda Sherels and her three sisters Yvonne “Joann” Rutland, Marilyn Beckwith and Diane White. Linda will be missed tremendously by all of those who knew her and loved her.

Psalm 100: 1-5 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: Come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: It is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, And into his courts with praise: Be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; And his truth endureth to all generations. Matthew 6: 9 - 13 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. 12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
