Aladian Artisans Aladia is home to the richest crafting culture in any known realm. Wherever you are in Aladia, the benefits of crafting are unquestionable. The abundance of creativity amongst the crafting classes has turned every other Aladian into a hobbyist. Aladian adventurers, on the other hand, take special care to equip themselves well. They trust a precious few with creating their gear and will often hone their crafting skill to supplement their martial or arcane prowess. Adventurers have a profound relationship with their gear. They are practically inseparable, with the odd exception of objects launched or thrown. Much of adventuring is how that relationship begins and develops. In any other adventure, a party acquires its most treasured equipment throughout its campaign. In Aladia, that relationship could just as easily start at the anvil or workbench. In this section, you’ll find all the different artisan options available in Aladia. There are more, but these are the crafts integral to adventuring. In this world, crafting is essential to unlocking the power levels you need to fulfill your goals. Without crafting, your party will be ill-prepared for the incredibly formidable foes in Aladia. Items & Recipes tier from C, B, A, and S. These tiers represent the rarity, price, and crafting difficulty of each item & recipe found in Aladia. The same tier scheme indicates your artisan’s skill level. Every crafter starts at C-tier and progresses to B-tier & beyond after reaching a certain number of successful unique crafts. For instance, it takes six unique, successful C-tier crafts for any artisan to achieve B-tier. At that point, the crafter is free to order recipes and craft appropriate B-tier items. Should a player choose to become a different artisan, they must do so before unlocking a mastercraft. This choice will cost a player any prior skill progression in their current craft. Players doing so will keep their recipes. Mastercrafts are specialized paths that artisans can pursue upon reaching A-tier crafting skill. These advanced artisans unlock equipment of significant power. Once chosen, a mastercraft cannot be unlearned, so pick wisely. Players must unlock a mastercraft before using mastercraft recipes. The advancement processes for each mastercraft are detailed in this chapter. DRAFT COPY

Alchemist Alchemists famously quest to discover perfect transmutation, the fabled recipe to transform one material into any other. They seek ultimate control over the physical world. Most artisans mock the pursuit as futile, but the promise of power keeps many an alchemist honing their craft into the night. Alchemists are the experimenters of artisans. These pioneer brewmasters constantly push the traditional boundaries of alchemical possibility to produce specialty brews to match every need. Their relentless pursuit of perfection has given the crafting world some of its most exciting and dangerous potions and transmutations. Alchemists produce liquid consumables of all types: restorative potions, enhancement elixirs and offensive cocktails. They may mix mundane remedies but are better known for the many substances they prescribe for specific circumstances. Exploding flasks, spray cans and smoke bottles allow the alchemist to reshape any engagement. These situational solutions may shift the balance of any dire encounter. Craft Mechanics: Alchemists craft adventuring staples while improving materials acquisition for other crafters. Expect to be frequently crafting consumable items to cover the party's adventuring needs while enabling other crafters fulfill their ingredient needs. Item Catalog: Restorative Potions. Enhancing Elixirs. Toxic Tonics. Throwable Flasks. Ingredient Transmutation. The Alchemist’s Dilemma As alchemists refine their skills, they always reach a fork on their path to the pinnacle of alchemy. The discovery of a new heady brew might divert an alchemist to rediscover the vintner’s pursuit of happiness. Their taste for power could tempt them instead to make the sacrifices of an occultist. Every alchemist must face this difficult choice. DRAFT COPY

Vintner The brewers of the world fuel all manner of celebration and debauchery with their creations, but vintners have cemented their brewing legacy by distilling liquid gold. Through a complicated alchemical process, vintners have combined the potency of alcohol with the versatility of a nearly infinite catalog of ingredients to make the world’s most potent potions and elixirs. This dedication to the art of liquid power comes with its costs. Every vintner abandons their progress toward ultimate transmutation. Vintners fill their days with the task of keeping their patrons alive, balancing the benefits of their brews with the tolls of overindulgence. Warnings and labels are seldom enough to curtail the abuse of a vintner’s goods. The safety of their friends and customers is a constant concern. The condensed nature of the vintners’ concoctions makes them incredibly potent and hazardous to their users. Many adventurers caught in a desperate situation have been snuffed out, not by their foes, but by the potions they consume in excess. Craft Mechanics: Vintners lean into crafting more potent adventuring staples with their intoxicating brews. As a vintner, you unlock greater benefits to your concoctions, including the social and offensive benefits of well refined alcohol. Item Catalog: Enlightening and Intoxicating Brews. Devastating Cocktails Unlocking: Reach A tier skill level with the alchemist artisan, then complete the three requirements below to unlock the vintner mastercraft. Entering the Business - After building the vintner’s distillery, aspiring vintners may order vintner recipes. Still, they will not have the skill to craft with them before fulfilling the following two requirements. In addition, they may not begin work on the next two requirements before crafting their distillery. Any A-tier alchemist pursuing the vintner mastercraft may use the following recipe free of charge: Vintner’s Distillery Recipe (A) (7x Awakened Willow Plank (A), 2x Navy Driftwood Plank (A), 3x Orin’s Steel Ingot (A), 1x Fire Elemental Essence (S), 2x Charzaround (A), Alchemy Lab. Crafting the Vintner’s Distillery will require a naturalist’s help, which will cost 100 gold during the crafting process if there is not a naturalist in your party) Brewing Lessons - While their friends party, the aspiring vintner must spend their time studying mixology if they are to master the highest art of potion making. To fulfill this requirement, they must achieve three positive results from After Hours’ Debauchery and forgo any benefits. The aspiring vintner may still pay for the usual 1d4 debauchery roll bonus. They can also spend 50 gold for an additional 1d12 tutoring bonus a maximum of one time per debauchery attempt. The consequences of failure apply as usual. DRAFT COPY

Tavern Crawling - To fulfill this requirement, the aspiring vintner must sample 3 new spirits from different brewers, establishments or traders on their travels. Occultist Of the alchemists dedicated enough to pursue ultimate transmutation to their personal detriment, some discover a long forgotten and misunderstood branch of hermetic artistry. Most artisans harness the extraordinary power that so many of their materials possess. Occultists exploit this power, extract it to its maximum potential, and use it to twist the properties of matter to suit its master’s desires. By maximizing the potential of crafted items, occultists recruit the latent power of its component materials using a fringe alchemical technique known as borrowing power. This practice warps the item in unkind ways causing unpredictable and sometimes severe side effects beyond an occultist’s control. Other artisans abhor the cruel mark of occultists on their work, lamenting these modifications as vile corruption. Not everything the occultist touches suffers. Despite questionable ethics, these devoted alchemists still perform exceptionally high-quality transmutations while brewing a limited list of powerful elixirs. Like their corruptions, these elixirs focus on enhancing only one aspect of an individual’s capabilities, pushing it to the absolute limit with severe but manageable consequences. Craft Mechanics: The ambitions of the alchemical discipline can corrupt occultists to pursue what untold power is unlocked with great sacrifice. Besides potent cocktails, you learn corruptions that offer immense benefits at steep personal cost. Item Catalog: Improved Elixirs. Fatal Flasks. Devious Corruptions. Costly Bargains. Greater Transmutation. Unlocking: Reach A tier skill level with the alchemist artisan, then complete the three requirements below to unlock the occultist mastercraft. At the Altar - After crafting the unfinished shrine, aspiring occultists may order occultist recipes. They will not have the skill to craft with them until fulfilling the following two requirements. In addition, they may not begin work on the next two requirements before crafting their unfinished shrine. Any A-tier alchemist pursuing the occultist mastercraft may use the following recipe free of charge: Occultist’s Unfinished Shrine Recipe (A) (2x Blood Oak Plank (S), 16x Palm Tinder (B), 2x Rimeshark Bones (A), 4x Gryphon Feathers (A), 1x Rhinobear Femur (A), 12x Hedgeboar Quill (C), 8x Fire Squid Tentacle (B), 16x Red Sage (A), 6x Nightshade (S), Alchemy Lab) Advanced Transmutation - The occultist's craft is inextricably linked to alchemical transmutation. Every aspiring occultist must master alchemy to progress in their craft. To demonstrate this mastery, they must make several successful attempts to transmute ingredients into uncommon DRAFT COPY

objects. They may make one attempt per After Hours while Crafting, with any amount or combination of ingredients worth a minimum of 100 gold. The occultist must make a minimum crafting roll of 14 to succeed in these attempts. They may purchase help for these crafting attempts as they could with any other. If successful, their chosen ingredients contort into a piece of the finished shrine. The aspiring occultist must obtain four unique pieces to complete the finished shrine and pass this requirement. The pieces are the Sphinx Statuette, Razorbone Necklace, Shrunken Dragon Head, and Imp in a Jar. The aspiring occultist will receive this item: Occultist’s Shrine (A) upon fulfilling this requirement. Borrowed Power - Occultists use stolen power to fuel their craft. Though not required each time they wish to practice their craft, a large enough infusion of this power is necessary for the aspiring occultist to tame the intense process of corruption. To this end, they must obtain six objects of great significance to their owners. These objects must come from intelligent creatures. When attempting to haggle for or steal these objects from their owners, they must first acquire knowledge of the object with a successful insight or investigation check against the owner’s perception check. If the aspiring occultist chooses to search a corpse to find one of these objects, they must pass a DC 17 Perception check or a DC 16 arcana check for a spellcaster’s body. Unstable Corruption - Pushing the power of crafted items past their intended limits will inevitably stress their designs. An item’s weight may increase, its flexibility may suffer, or magical energy may leak from it unexpectedly. The occultist can’t possibly predict which of these side effects might result from their work, so they must prepare for the outcome or cleanse their unintended corruption from an item and try it again. When applying corruption, the occultist must roll a d20 on the following table to determine which detrimental stat an item gains. The occultist may need to roll more than once for multiple consequences, depending on the corruption they are applying. As an example, suppose a corruption grants a cursed stat bonus. In that case, the occultist will roll off on the table below and reverse the detriment into a bonus (For example, -5 movement would become +5 movement as a cursed stat bonus). Unless the corruption is cleansed, any detrimental stats or cursed stat bonuses are permanent. DRAFT COPY

Culinarians are the backbone of Aladian society, cooking up the nourishing meals that feed their community. Sourcing ingredients acquired from their travels, these disciples of the culinary arts use culinary traditions from across Aladia to fill the bellies of their friends and allies. Culinarians prepare food and mix beverages that feed the body and soul, restoring vigor and enhancing abilities. Appetizing meals aren’t the culinarians' only claim to fame. Some of their forbidden creations have a sinister, even malevolent purpose. Most culinarian dishes are also low cost, as good cooks are frugal. An adventuring party with a well-rounded culinarian is always well provisioned. Craft Mechanics: Culinarians prepare parties for their exploits with performance enhancing meals, and refreshing beverages. The necessity of nourishment drives you to be one of the most cost effective artisans provisioning adventurers of Aladia. Item Catalog: Nourishing Food. Refreshing Beverages. DRAFT COPY

Sugar or Spice Nearly all culinarians uphold an unspoken oath; to feed the destitute, nourish friends, and grow the craft. But there exists a darker side to Aladia’s culinary arts. The patissiere diverges from the chef toward opposing culinary principles. Where the chef embodies the wonderfully magnanimous nature of cuisine, the patissiere embraces destruction and chaos. The chef may take limelight recognition, but the patissiere holds forbidden secrets in between the pages of their revered recipes. Patissiere In a time of violent turmoil and revolt known as The Great Toppling, a brilliant young culinary mind hatched a plot of revenge to end an era of political repression. A noble wedding became a bloodbath after the banquet’s final course came alive. A tide of delectable ravenous flesh-eating horrors descended upon the unsuspecting nobility, leaving no survivors. Many changes came with The Great Toppling, but one loss left a void in Aladian society: The emerging elite outlawed the craft of dessert-making and its terrible secrets from the land. Now, patissiere practice their twisted designs in the far chambers of deep dungeons, down secret castle passageways in secret workshops, or away from prying eyes, in remote cabins, alone in dark forests. Exceeded only by soulforgers in malevolent craft, these wayward bakers produce sentient saccharine confections with bigger appetites than any who would think to consume them. Centuries have come and gone without a confectionary incident. This branch of the culinary arts seems to live only in history books. Surely no one could be mad enough to revisit this past tragedy. Craft Mechanics: The allure of appetizing desserts belies the nefarious intent of your confections. As a Patissiere, you learn to turn everyday food ingredients into tasty traps, perilous pranks, delicious decoys and even delectably evil allies Item Catalog: Seductive Snacks. Invigorating Confections. Animated Antagonistic Desserts. Unlocking: First, the culinarian must reach A-tier skill level. They must then complete three requirements to unlock the patissiere mastercraft. DRAFT COPY

Brick by Brick - After crafting the patissiere’s oven, aspiring patissieres may order patissiere recipes. They will not have the skill to craft with them until fulfilling the following two requirements. In addition, they may not begin work on the next two requirements before crafting their oven. Any A-tier culinarian pursuing the patissiere mastercraft may use the following recipe free of charge: Patissiere’s Oven Recipe (A) (1x Fire Elemental Essence (S), 2x Cave Stone (A), 12x Brimstone (A), 4x Charzaround Flakes (A), 4x Orichalcum Ingot (A). Crafting the Patissiere’s Oven will require a blacksmith’s help, which will cost 100 gold during the crafting process if there is not a blacksmith in your party) Confections of the Taboo - Acquiring the only remaining copy of the patissiere’s cookbook involves finding three separate chapters held by various collectors, none of which are willing to give them up. The aspiring patissiere must steal these chapters, fulfilling this requirement after acquiring all three book chapters. The heist will require three separate successful crimes during the Risky Business. These may be completed solo or as part of a group. The aspiring patissiere will receive only one chapter of the cookbook per successful crime, forfeiting any gold reward they would have received. In this instance, the culinarian’s conspirators split the lost share. Food for the Oven - Patissieres work with small creatures and, in the process of their crafting, bake living souls into their confections. Aspiring patissieres must capture six unique creatures of small size and smaller along their travels. To catch the animals, they must pass a DC 16 nature or animal handling check. These creatures may not be obtained through other means, as the act of trapping them is meaningful to this rite of passage. Upon capturing all six creatures, the ascendant culinarian must feed them to the oven, fulfilling this requirement. Chef The most well-known and beloved of all the mastercrafters, chefs lift the spirits of folk across Aladia with their mouth-watering creations. A famously meritocratic profession, the most celebrated chefs start from humble beginnings earning status by the edge of their knives and wit. They champion egalitarianism with their craft, keeping the cost of their creations low so more may enjoy them. The people celebrate chefs seeking to share their work with the world. The mark of a great chef is not just a good heart and a lean grocery list. The best chefs constantly reinvent preparations of exotic ingredients in DRAFT COPY

novel combinations to elevate the flavor and benefits of mundane dishes. A top chef must be able to find flavor where no one dares to look. Chefs offer innumerable benefits to accompany their exquisite dishes. Though merely a last resort, chefs might incapacitate or more permanently dispatch problematic individuals with irresistible delights. Craft Mechanics: The benevolent ideal of the culinarian culminates with the chef, as the food you prepare is elevated from mundane meals to extravagant celebrations. You learn to extend the benefits of food into healthy diets without even breaking the bank. Item Catalog: Wholesome Meals. Extravagant Feasts. Nutritional Diets. Unlocking: A culinarian must reach A-tier skill, then complete the three requirements enumerated below to unlock the chef mastercraft. Tools of the Trade - After crafting the chef’s set, aspiring chefs may order chef recipes. They won’t have the skill to craft with them before completing the next two requirements. They may not start on the next two requirements before gathering the chef’s set: The Chopping Knives (A), Heat Resistant Pot & Pan (A), and Bobby Slay’s Lean & Mean Cookbook (A) are required to create the Chef’s Set (A). The aspiring chef may craft these any time without spending time allocated for normal crafting. Any A-tier culinarian pursuing the chef mastercraft may use the following recipes free of charge: Chopping Knives Recipe (A) (4x Orin’s Steel Ingot (A), 2x Gryphon Leather (A), 5x Terraround Dust (B), 2x Obsidian (A). Crafting the Chopping Knives will require a blacksmith’s help, which will cost 100 gold during the crafting process if there is not a blacksmith in your party) Heat Resistant Pot & Pan Recipe (A) (7x Brimstone (A), 6x Orin’s Steel Ingot (A), 2x Charzaround Flakes (A). Crafting Bobby Slay’s Lean & Mean Cookbook will require a scribe’s help, which will cost 100 gold during the crafting process if there is not a scribe in your party) Celebrity Chef - An aspiring chef must gain the proper recognition and earn the title chef through notable culinary works. To accomplish this, they must impress the most influential food critics throughout Aladia. The aspiring chef must successfully sell six unique and completed culinarian products during the After Hours Market . The aspiring chef must roll a 12 or more to succeed at each attempted sale. For these sales, the prospective chef must forgo rewards to earn recognition instead. Widening the Palate - The aspiring chef must sample dishes from every corner of the world to expand their culinary palate. The ascendant culinarian must DRAFT COPY

try four distinct meals from different establishments across Aladia. Blacksmith From the beating heart of the mecha-foundries to the windswept mountain forges of Skyline, the blacksmiths are the engine behind every army, a godsend to any warrior, and the helping hand to nearly every other artisan. Famously prolific in the creation of all things metal, no other artisan can claim such mastery over ore and stone. Blacksmiths forge diverse equipment from metal and stone, including armor, weapons, and artisans' tools. These creations are known for their extreme durability and versatility, though they frequently come at a steep cost. Many may use smith-forged tools, but only the strongest can bear a blacksmith’s heavy alloy armors. Each armor set is custom-made to fit the specific needs of Aladia’s most formidable warriors. Famous for their unyielding perfectionism, even by the standards of other master crafters, many blacksmiths share a lofty ambition. Though the dwarves have come close with the revolution that was Orin’s steel, no alloys have yet reached the peak of durability, malleability and cost efficiency that, combined, would weld together into legendary material. This alloy, as theorized by many smiths and scholars alike, could bring about the dawn of a new era in crafting and construction. Craft Mechanics: Blacksmiths are the preeminent crafters of artifices of war. Your maturing mastery of metal takes patience and refinement, the rewards of which would have every Aladian adventurer bristling with your lethal steel. Item Catalog: Unique Arms. Metalwork Weapons and Armor. Forgework Care and Maintenance. Black Iron and Silvered Steel Steel is the backbone of Aladia’s future and the secret that blacksmiths must master. For some, their knowledge comes from the endless work of equipping people to face their destinies. Welders learn from the repetitive work singing the secret of steel from the forge. For others, there is a thirst for power that neither oil nor water can quench. Soulforgers learn to harden steel in the wake of death. The choice is simple for some, but master smiths seldom remember the hammer stroke that set them on their path of light or dark. DRAFT COPY

Soulforger Few people know the craft’s true name—even fewer dare to speak of it. To tread the path of the soulforger is to walk hand in hand with death and bear the weight of the worst sin in Aladia: the enslavement of souls. The product of the forbidden art has spectral qualities that defy the limits of cold iron. Unlike welders, soulforgers don’t equip armies, craft tools or build cities. With their craft, they quench steel in the souls of the dead, tempering the metal in their torment. By their product, they empower the oppressor that would subjugate others. Soulforging is an effective craft, but its mark on steel radiates an aura of discomfort. Malevolence clings to its wielders, making any interaction difficult for anyone using soulforged steel. Wild beasts must resist the urge to flee on instinct. This forbidden knowledge passes from stranger to stranger like a curse. Some spectral smiths choose to die with their secrets, never sharing the art out of guilt, shame or spite. Those that preserve the art whisper its secrets, so the innocent might be tempted by its power. Craft Mechanics: The blood of the fallen comes alive upon a soulforger's steel. You learn heinous arts to bind souls to your wares, enchanting them with potent magic and unlocking the forbidden potential of the blacksmith. Item Catalog: Sinister Weapons and Armor Imbued with Faustian magicks. Unlocking: Blacksmiths become soulforgers when they reach A-tier skill level and complete the three requirements of the forbidden mastercraft. Forging the Scythe - After crafting the starving scythe, aspiring soulforgers may order soulforger recipes. They will not have the skill to use these recipes before fulfilling the last two requirements. They must forge the starving scythe before advancing to the next two requirements. Any A-tier blacksmith pursuing the soulforger mastercraft may use the following recipe free of charge: Soulforger’s Starving Scythe Recipe (A) (2x Adamantium Ingot (S), 4x Sorcellkular Ingot (A), 8x Orin’s Steel Ingot (A), 2x Signaround Particles (A), 4x Brimstone (A). An innocuous black metal scythe. Upon closer inspection, the metal is inlaid with small veins, as if to house something within it) The Forbidden Knowledge - A hooded stranger challenges the aspiring soulforger to games of chance. The destitute stranger wagers their knowledge of soulforging. The aspiring soulforger must win four deathrolls against the stranger, risking at least 50 gold in each attempt to learn soulforging secrets. These deathrolls grant knowledge with each win, forgoing monetary reward, and may only be attempted three times during the high rollers after hours. Soul Harvesting - The aspiring soulforger desensitizes themselves to the chore of sacrifice. A great number DRAFT COPY

of souls need to be bound to its core to empower the scythe. Upon killing a combined total of 45 CR worth of creatures with souls, the aspiring soulforger will receive the following item: Soulforger’s Scythe (A) (A small and outwardly unremarkable metal scythe that emits the soft wails of many unfortunate souls trapped within its blade. Grants any soulforger the ability to harvest the souls of any creature after slaying them. Delivering the final blow is not required, as the soulforger only needs to contribute to the kill to harvest a soul. Killing a creature of CR 1 to 8 will grant the soulforger 1x Tortured Soul (A). Killing a creature of CR 9 and above will grant the soulforger 1x Chained Soul (S). This scythe must remain in the inventory of the soulforger attempting to harvest these souls Welder Like gleaming mountains of metal might, the warriors wearing a welder’s work attract the awe of entire battlefields. Singularly devoted to the purity and perfection of the blacksmith’s craft, welders are the natural progression of the forging arts, creating massive and indomitable heavy equipment fit for the Eldest themselves. Although one of the most expensive mastercrafting disciplines to pursue, welders produce undeniably effective heavy armor and melee weapons. The craft focuses on battle-tested excellence and reinforced metal, so welders only apply themselves to traditional weapons (and armor) of warfare. The weapons and armor they craft are incredibly large & nigh impregnable, though cumbersome. Even the strongest who bear these masterpieces move slower and may suffer other minor inconveniences on the battlefield. Pioneered by the Orin clan dwarves, welding techniques are not possible through traditional forging means. The quality and quantity of the metals being forge-welded require temperatures beyond wood or coal fires. The process prompts many welders to travel in search of new and exotic fires that might fuel their mastercraft. Craft Mechanics: Dwarven crafters bestow the welder with their clan’s mastery over metal. As a welder, you exert extra effort in crafting formidable DRAFT COPY

traditional weapons to serve only the strongest of warriors with the stoutest of hearts. Item Catalog: Peerless Heavy Armor. Exceptional Metalwork Arms. Unlocking: The blacksmith artisan must reach A-tier skill level and complete the three requirements below to unlock the welder mastercraft. Starting Fires - After crafting the unfueled torch, aspiring welders may order welder recipes. They will not have the skill to use them before completing the last two requirements. They may not start on the following requirements until the unfueled torch is ready. Any A-tier blacksmith pursuing the welder mastercraft may use the following recipe free of charge: Unfueled Welding Torch Recipe (A) (1x Fire Elemental Essence (S), 4x Brimstone (A), 2x Blood of the Dragon Turtle (S), 6x Orin’s Steel Ingot (A), 1x Adamantium Ingot (S), Blacksmith’s forge) At the Foot of the Masters - To learn from the best Orin Clan welders, the aspiring welder must start a new after hours day job at the 5th tier and rise to 1st to fulfill this requirement. They may use the attribute of their choice and add their proficiency bonus to the rolls. In addition, the aspiring welder may increase their rolls by 1 per ingot of any quality donated to the clan. After fulfilling this requirement, the aspiring welder may resume their old day job at the tier they left. Filling the Tank - The welder must fuel their welding torch’s tank with potent sources of fire. They may, as a reaction, use the tank to completely absorb a single source of fire damage taken in any encounter and must absorb at least three unique fire spells or effects in this way to finish fueling the tank. The tank may only absorb fire damage in this way once per encounter and may not be used in this way again once it has finished fueling. Upon fulfilling this requirement, the aspiring welder will receive this item: Welding Torch (A) Soothsayer Soothsayers are the agents of fate and fortune. They wield a mystic power to shape the destinies of those who cross their path. All who wish to tame the future and avert misfortune covet their power. Few who tread the way of the soothsayer have the fortitude to complete the journey. Through the enigmatic lens of divining decks, soothsayers produce readings that turn the tides of battle or influence minds. Possibilities are infinite, and so are the futures that soothsayers can select. Their blessings feel like boons while they chart a course for destiny. Soothsayers commune with the runes that empower DRAFT COPY

them by mastering the Five Divining Decks. They wield rune words to shape the fates of the people and items for whom they scry. Crafting a divining deck and unlocking its full potential is a long, grueling process. This, coupled with the lack of literature on the subject, has kept soothsayers a rarity amongst artisans. Among those masters that are still living, nearly all of them belong to an exceptionally long-lived race. And without exception, they all stay out of the public eye, carefully choosing the beneficiaries of their expertise and avoiding those seeking to abuse it. Craft Mechanics: Fortune favors the bold because soothsayers tell them what to expect. You will perform regular readings, speaking portents that guide, protect, and assist adventurers through each leg of their journeys. Item Catalog: Morale Boosting Party Readings. Imminent Auspices and Omens. Urgent Forecasts. Convenient Paper Foci. The River and the Stone Fate is the river. We are the water and the stone. Soothsayers learn to navigate the flow of fate in their practice. They are drawn to the channels of fate and the rocks that weather it. Some choose to resist the tides of change as runeshapers. They carve lasting marks that become nexuses through which fortune flows. Others ride the currents as channelers, shaping futures with great concentrated power. Runeshaper Soothsayers are famously gifted with future sight and can offer blessings from their enigmatic divining decks, but that is not all they are capable of. Aladia’s ancient runic language is one of power, allowing those familiar with it to tap directly into the source to extract and direct magical energy. Runeshapers have strayed from the soothsayer’s course to master the application of Majin runes, specifically those capable of adding great power to equipment of all kinds. Great arcs of lightning pouring off a greataxe, stellar bejeweled armor fueling potent healing spells, veritable fountains of additional gold from lucky trinkets – runeshapers promise these possibilities to all whose equipment bears their runes. The Majin runic language is flexible and diverse, allowing for specific enhancements and myriad benefits to be applied to gear by a skillful runeshaper. Regarding adventurers’ equipment, even the largest & heaviest of weapons and armor pieces can only safely contain so much added power that runes provide. Runeshapers are careful to avoid the destruction of equipment by ensuring only one application of runic power remains on any one item at any time. Craft Mechanics: Runeshapers take a soothsayer’s portents and anchor fates to equipment with runes. You learn to imbue existing equipment with potent powers with runes by storing magic within each, ready to erupt at the opportune time. DRAFT COPY

While investigating books, engravings, or fallen enemy spellcasters, they must pass a DC 15 Arcana check on 8 unique objects to gain the necessary runic knowledge and fulfill this requirement. Channeler “One must hold both a glimpse into the future and a window into the soul, together as one vision. We walk a precarious tightrope, keeping the balance of focus and foresight. You could end up howling down the abyss of a wayward soul just as easily as you might find your mind trapped in one foreseeable moment for a hundred years. Ours is the craft of wisdom through centuries, not the fevered dreams of a prophet or the rushed readings of a madman.” - Master Hybear Cloud. their past, present and future, the channeler can portend many precise benefits through the lens of their divining decks to the reading’s recipient. This singular focus on the individual also lengthens the duration of the readings, extending their effects to last days or longer. Lest the channeler’s own body withers during the reading, a significant material sacrifice is required to facilitate these transactions of empowerment. Though safe, this process taxes the channeler and recipient heavily. Additional readings may not be attempted until the effects of any previous reading have faded. Craft Mechanics: The future is what the channeler makes of it. Beyond readings, you learn channels to bestow powerful magic on an individual for a limited amount of time, ensuring the success of their exploits. The history they make is what you plan. Item Catalog: Consummate Power from Channels. Flammable Paper Foci. Unlocking: Reach A tier skill level with the soothsayer artisan, then complete the 3 requirements below to unlock the runeshaper mastercraft. Foreshadowing - After crafting the dull focus and serpent tide deck, aspiring channelers may order channeler recipes. They will not have the skill to craft with them until the following two requirements are fulfilled. They may not start on the other requirements until the dull focus and serpent tide deck have been crafted. Any A-tier soothsayer pursuing the channeler mastercraft may use the following recipes free of charge: Channeler’s Dull Focus Recipe (A) (4x Star Fragments (A), 2x Sorcellkular Ingot (A), 2x Signaround Particles (A), 4x Scales of the Water Dragon (A), 1x Sky Diamond (S), Shaded Grotto Soothsayer’s Deck (B). Crafting the Channeler’s Dull Focus will require a naturalist’s help, which will cost 100 gold during the crafting process if there is not a naturalist in your party) Serpent Tide Soothsayer’s Deck Recipe (A) (7x Awakened Willow Parchment (A), 4x Prismatic Ink (A), 8x Scales of the Water Dragon (A), Shaded Grotto Soothsayer’s Deck (B). Crafting the Serpent Tide Soothsayer’s Deck will require a scribe’s help, which will cost 100 gold during the crafting process if there is not a scribe in your party) The Seeing Eye - Aspiring channelers must hone their future sight to properly bless their recipients with the gifts they need. To fulfill this requirement, they must accurately predict the result of eight high rolling gambles during after hours. The gambles may be their own or their fellow party members. Material Sacrifice - To empower their focus, the aspiring channeler must offer up some hard-earned ingredients from their own triumphs. To complete this objective, they must sacrifice at least 1250 gold worth of ingredients they earned only from adventure encounters. Upon fulfilling this requirement, the aspiring channeler will receive this item: Channeler’s Focus (A) DRAFT COPY

Naturalist Hunters, scavengers, woodworkers and gem seekers; naturalism is a time-honored artisanal tradition whose practitioners cherish and preserve the land. Naturalists, known amongst crafters as the jack of all trades, boast an enormous versatile catalog unsurpassed by any other artisan. Thus they remain the go-to source of equipment for many diverse parties of adventurers the world over. Naturalists craft all manner of weapons and apparel from the materials nature provides, from the most deadly bows, axes and whips to ornate amulets, foci and staves. While naturalists actively hunt wild creatures out of necessity, they are more known for their prolific scavenging abilities. Scouring the land for husks and parts leftover from creatures long passed, as well as for scraps of fine wood taken from tree outgrowths, naturalists forge their equipment out of respect for the land, which helps keep the balance of many ecosystems intact. Naturalists are not as carelessly dedicated as other crafters. Their refusal to upset the balance of nature to push forward progress has left naturalistic crafting in a state of stagnated growth. While diverse, the naturalist’s offerings are largely unchanged from centuries past, so they are considered less advanced by current Aladian standards. Even then, the work of naturalists features some of the most intricate craftsmanship among artisans. Craft Mechanics: Naturalists thrive at harnessing the dangers of ecology while helping their fellows survive. You will craft weapons and armor from the gifts of the environment to establish each adventurer's proper place in the Aladian food chain. Item Catalog: Crystalline, Wood, and Leatherwork Equipment Imbued with Living Nature Magic. Personal Growth Naturalists are enamored with growth inherent in natural systems. As ashcarvers, they learn to harness the secrets of wood and the power that propels mighty trees from humble seeds. Crystalline growth enthralls others to pursue Crystallography. The propagating patterns of inanimate geodes hint at the structures of Aladia’s firmament. Between these naturalist mastercrafts, the practical wisdom at the foundations of the continent becomes power at an adventurer’s fingertips. DRAFT COPY

Crystallographer Jewels hold a special place in the hearts of explorers and treasure hunters alike. Many gems are beautiful to behold, but crystallographers harness their power in the form of accessories. Crystallographers use a particular set of tools to reshape jewels, metals and wood to create protective amulets, unpredictable trinkets, rings of power and more. Though famous for their accessories, naturalists also fashion staves and focuses sought by spellcasters. These globes of crystal and jewels house immense power within, and only crystallographers can seize this power with their craft. Branching from the naturalist’s philosophy, crystallographers source materials from miners and explorers. These crystals can be hard to find and dangerous to mine, demanding a high price. Accessories are famously expensive to make, requiring the best cut jewels hidden in rough gems. This means that crystallographers need a cache of gems to work their craft. Craft Mechanics: Crystallographers have discovered magic crystalized in natural gem deposits across Aladia. As a crystallographer, you learn to wield gems and fragile crystals to great effect, honing them into potent focuses, and bladed weaponry. Item Catalog: Crystalwork, Spell Foci, and Jeweled Accessories Unlocking: A naturalist must reach A-tier skill, then complete the three requirements below to unlock the crystallographer mastercraft. Assembly Required - After crafting the toolkit, aspiring crystallographers may order crystallography recipes but will not have the skill to craft with them until the following two requirements are fulfilled. They may not start on the following requirements until the toolkit has been prepared. The Diamond Saw Chisel (A), Magnifying Spectacles (A), and Glassblowing Pipe (A) comprise the Crystallographer’s Toolkit (A). Any A-tier naturalist pursuing the crystallography mastercraft may use the following recipes free of charge: Diamond Saw Chisel Recipe (A) (1x Chisana Nutwood Plank (S), 2x Adamantium Ingot (S), 1x Sky Diamond (S), Naturalist’s Table) Magnifying Spectacles Recipe (A) (1x Sorcellkular Ingot (A), 3x Signaround Particles (A), 2x Makapello (A), Naturalist’s Table. Crafting the Magnifying Spectacles will require an inventor’s help, which will cost 100 gold during the crafting process if there is not an inventor in your party) Glassblowing Pipe Recipe (A) (4x Orichalcum Ingot (A), 2x Charzaround Flakes (A), 8x Blackrock (B), Naturalist’s Table. Crafting the Glassblowing Pipe will require a blacksmith’s help, which will cost 100 gold during the crafting process if there is not a blacksmith in your party) Diamonds in the Rough - The aspiring crystallographer must shop for accessories from their competition to study their techniques. To fulfill this requirement, they must successfully purchase three unique B-grade accessories. Once purchased, these DRAFT COPY

accessories will be broken down into their base components for study. The aspiring crystallographer will then receive the ingredients used in each of the purchased accessories’ recipes. Prospecting - The aspiring crystallographer must learn to identify the best jewels for their craft. They need to mine jewels four times successfully during their adventures to fulfill this requirement. To mine a jewel, the aspiring crystallographer must pass a DC 14 Athletics or Dexterity check. On a successful check, the aspiring crystallographer may roll a 1d4 and obtain that number of jewel ingredients they’ve found. Otherwise, the uncut gem will shatter, destroying any prospective jewels. Ashcarver Wardens of nature and disciples of the cycle, ashcarving is naturalism’s final form. They are the ultimate scavengers, the most devoted servants of the land, and the finest hunters Aladia has ever known. Keeping the versatile naturalist tradition alive, ashcarvers fashion all manner of equipment from the carcasses of sentient trees and mighty creatures. No other mastercraft can boast of making such reliable armor and lethal weaponry without upsetting the land's balance. Despite this, the ashcarver’s lack of specialization and dedication to nature earns the spite of more ambitious crafters. The ashcarver’s standards are higher than their precursor, using only parts of the strongest creatures and trees known in any land. This keeps their costs unusually high, even for the mastercraft that avoids waste. Ashcarvers take life only when necessary, but there is no more deadly predator in the wild than an experienced ashcarver on the hunt. Those that choose this mastercraft tend to share a stronger bond with nature than most, allowing them to better hunt and track prey should the need arise. Craft Mechanics: Ashcarvers take gifts of wood and vine, dedicating them as weaponry and armor, to staunch defenders of the forest. Your craft bestows symbiotic equipment to woodland defenders lending the might of ancient trees. Item Catalog: Symbiotic Living Wood and Vinework Weapons and Armor emanating the Magic of Ancient Forests. Unlocking: Reach A tier skill level with the naturalist artisan, then complete the 3 requirements below to unlock the ashcarver mastercraft. Cagematch - After crafting the bonesaw, aspiring ashcarvers may order ashcarving recipes. They will not have the skill to craft with them until the following two requirements are fulfilled. They may not start on the following requirements until the bonesaw has been crafted. Any A-tier naturalist pursuing the ashcarver mastercraft may use the following recipe free of charge: Ashcarver’s Bonesaw Recipe (A) (1x Rhinobear Femur (A), 8x Rimeshark Bones (A), 2x Photosyte Ingot (S), 10x DRAFT COPY

Terraround Dust (B), 5x Awakened Willow Plank (A), Naturalist’s Table) Hunt - When scavenging is not an option, the aspiring ashcarver must learn how to stalk & successfully take down their prey. They must succeed in at least three group or solo bounty hunts during after hours. The aspiring ashcarver will receive only their hunting experience as a reward for these successes. One Man’s Trash - The aspiring ashcarver must learn how to identify high-quality creature parts and wood for use in their craft. They must successfully scavenge for these ingredients during their adventures by passing a DC 15 Survival or Nature check. Ten successful scavenges must be completed to fulfill this requirement. These may be attempted upon finding creature corpses out in the wild, trees with enough bark outgrowth to easily harvest, or while trying to harvest the corpse of a wild creature the aspiring ashcarver has killed themselves. On a successful check, the aspiring ashcarver may roll a 1d4 and obtain that number of creature parts or wood ingredients they’ve found. Outfitter Outfitters are the world’s foremost apparel specialists and disguise artists, setting trends while furnishing spellcasters and agile fighters with fashion-forward armor. These masters of thread and needle are constantly testing new materials and weaving techniques to give their patrons the upper hand, mundane or magical. Using primarily cloth and leather, outfitters craft armor custom fit to any body type. While leather armor can be expensive, the lighter armor that spellcasters prefer costs the magical energy that empowers these garments. Beware that the price you pay isn’t better spent in battle. However, the results may be worth the risk as these armors are of unrivaled quality. Craft Mechanics: Outfitters are the arbiters of social order, clothing citizenry for their role and status in the complex hierarchy of Ceisana. A good outfitter will open doors. adventurers survive what's behind each one. Item Catalog: Stylish Clothing. Liveries and Uniforms. Functional Light and Medium Armor. Basic Disguises. Mastercrafts: Spellweaver & Cosplayer A Cut Above the Rest Outfitters offer specialized options from the selection of light armor they craft. Their attention to detail results in bespoke solutions to unconventional needs. These tailor-made accouterments diverge with the mastercrafter’s distinct clientele. Spellweavers stitch with arcane thread while cosplayers work hide and cut cloth for the cloak and dagger. Their work adorns the best dressed and most discerning adventurers. Spellweaver Magic exists as a natural part of Aladia as a font of limitless power. Those with the abilities and knowledge can tap into this reservoir. Casters merely channel this power, shaping or redirecting it to serve their purpose. Since the flow of this energy can only ever be as strong as the conduit it travels through, a spellweaver’s equipment works to widen and empower the spellcaster as that conduit as they work their magic, enhancing their abilities. Powerful magic courses through a caster's body as they cast. Spellweaver designs help spellcasters endure this immense power, the spell energy woven into the textile preventing the caster from exploding in countless ways. This mastercraft harnesses a principle akin to tempering steel. The spellweaver must course the power of a spell through the fabric of their garments, enriching them with the magic of Aladia. Every spell woven into armor this way empowers future spells that pass through the wearer. Though the costs of this armor are nothing to dismiss, all mages and healers find a way to afford this life-saving spell-woven protection. Craft Mechanics: Their tapestries tell stories of powerful magic, and the threads spun by spellweavers course with immense power. Your craft is to assemble the garb of great magic-users, piece by piece, to unlock their full potential. Item Catalog: Immensely Powerful Spell Wrought Light Armor. Unlocking: An outfitter artisan must reach A-tier skill level and complete the three requirements below to unlock the spellweaver mastercraft. two requirements are fulfilled. They may not start on those requirements until the unempowered loom has been crafted. Any A-tier outfitter pursuing the spellweaver mastercraft may use the following recipe free of charge: Spellweaver’s Unempowered Loom Recipe (A) (8x Faer Cloth (A), 1x Water Elemental Essence (S), 5x Awakened Willow Plank (A), 2x Signaround Particles (A), Outfitter’s Needlekit) Making Magic - The spellweaver’s loom will require a massive magical infusion to withstand the stress of future crafts. The aspiring spellweaver will have to imbue the loom with 21 total levels of spell slots, with higher level spells adding more to this total (For example, imbuing the loom with a 3rd level spell will add 3 levels to the count). This may be done at the outfitter’s pace. Spell slots may be contributed incrementally, at any time in the main session or during after hours. Any other party member may also contribute spell slots towards empowering the loom. After fulfilling this requirement, the aspiring spellweaver will receive this item: Spellweaver’s Loom (A) Spell Study - The aspiring spellweaver must study powerful new spells up close & personal to broaden their perspective of magic. When observing spells cast from outside the party, as a free action, the outfitter may attempt a DC 16 Arcana check. They must succeed on four similar checks to fulfill this requirement. They may not attempt more than one check on the same spell cast by the same spellcaster. Cosplayer Even the greatest spies and assassins have trouble smuggling themselves into noble houses with tight security. Though nobles spare no expense in keeping the riffraff outside, they break the bank by hosting lavish parties within their opulent estates. Cosplayers have built prolific careers dressing elegant soirees and everyone attempting to sneak inside, inevitably influencing the fashion of Aladia with their apparel innovations. Those who fight from the shadows, hunt from the treetops or race through the battlefield need durable, high-mobility armor – gear that blends into shadows and heightens reflexes without impeding movement or finesse. Cosplayers outfit stealthy and agile operators in style. In addition to crafting the best combat gear, cosplayers are the only outfitters fit to create garments for nobility. Nobles accept nothing less than the finest bespoke apparel. These garments are keys to events among Aladia’s high society, from cocktails and galas to meetings of state. With their craft so critical, cosplayers have been known to take orders off-the-books, sewing disguises to rival magical glamor. Cosplayers must think outside the box to fulfill the bizarre specifications of vestments made to order. Novel designs usually involve expensive, hard-to-find materials sourced or personally gathered from the four corners of Aladia. No other artisans DRAFT COPY

would go to such great lengths on behalf of uncompromising taste. Craft Mechanics: Every adventurer seeking to emulate the heroes of Aladia also seeks a sliver of their power. As a cosplayer, you bring that power within reach, by crafting functional costumes from images of their heroic attire and the songs of their adventures. Item Catalog: Empowered Aspirational Costumes. Class Couture. Advanced Disguises. Unlocking: An outfitter artisan must reach A-tier skill level and complete the three requirements below to unlock the cosplayer mastercraft. Designer’s Arsenal - After crafting the empty closet, aspiring cosplayers may order cosplayer recipes. They will not have the skill to craft with them until the following two requirements are fulfilled. They may not start on the following requirements until the empty closet has been crafted. Any A-tier outfitter pursuing the cosplayer mastercraft may use the following recipe free of charge: Cosplayer’s Empty Closet Recipe (A) (4x Satinblight Cloth (A), 2x Faer Cloth (A), 4x Cashmere Cloth (S), 5x Gryphon Leather (A), 2x Dragon Leather (S), 4x Vital Spruce Plank (A), Outfitter’s Needlekit) Starting the Line - To gain enough recognition as a successful designer, the cosplayer must successfully invest in a new finance startup worth at least 400 gold. This startup will only provide recognition to the aspiring cosplayer for three after hours sessions until this requirement has been fulfilled. Afterwards, this investment will payout gold as any other investment would. Stealing Style - The aspiring cosplayer must acquire enough inspiration to fuel their signature fashion genius. They must obtain at least ten outfits with different looks and material components during their adventures. These may be acquired by any means, with each acquisition going into the cosplayer’s closet permanently. The cosplayer will obtain the following item upon fulfilling this requirement: Cosplayer’s Closet (A) Inventor Bombs that shake the foundations of mountains, devices that stimulate or deprive the senses, firearms with explosive stopping power - these are the hallmarks of the most unpredictable artisan, known as the inventor. Inventors work with metals, jewels, creature parts and more to bring their engineering marvels to life. heard of them, much less seen them in action. These ranged weapons are known as drakes for those familiar with the craft. Expensive but powerful and reliable, these fearsome weapons are made exclusively by inventors to meet their advanced foe-smiting needs. The contraptions of inventors employ clockwork contradictions timed with orchestrated chaos. Explaining an invention seldom tracks with an uninspired mind. Any doubters are promptly silenced after witnessing an invention in action, their unanswered queries reduced to slack jaws and unblinking eyes. Craft Mechanics: Tinker toys are the tip of the iceberg, as inventors cobble together complex mechanical components into clockwork solutions. Adventurers will employ your ideas and inventions to disappear problems of their own. Item Catalog: Novel Toys. Rudimentary Drakes. Clockwork Accessories. Engines of Progress The future is crafted at the inventor's bench, their march of progress taken in automaton strides. Their explosives will level any obstacle. The fire of their drakes will stifle any resistance. Soon enough, the weapons of war and the mechanical hands that wield them will be more than an inventor’s dream. It will be the reality of the roboticist and the domain of the drakesmith. Whether you require stealth, circumvention, or direct explosion, these masterminds will have something perfect in their arsenal. Sometimes sentience is the only solution; with the roboticist, nothing is beyond imagination. Roboticists’ creations are often the product of simple solutions in complex concert with an array of gadgetry and innumerable moving parts. Their method requires innovation and a great deal of fabrication. A roboticist’s greatest asset is a chest full of parts crafted with meticulous care, sparing no expense. Inventions cost precious time, but their results are worth it. Craft Mechanics: Roboticists apply their ingenuity to automate many facets of Aladian life. For adventurers, a DRAFT COPY

In Theory - After crafting the multitool, aspiring roboticists may order roboticist recipes. They will not have the skill to use them until the following two requirements are fulfilled. In addition, they may not start on the following requirements until the multitool has been crafted. The Multitool Base (A) and Multitool Arms (A) are required to assemble the Roboticist’s Multitool (A). Any A-tier inventor pursuing the roboticist mastercraft may use the following recipes free of charge: Multitool Base Recipe (A) (1x Mithril Base (B), 2x Orichalcum Bolts (A), 2x Gryphon Leather (A), 2x Orichalcum Ingot (A), 4x Fulgriss (B), Invention Gear) Roboticist’s Multitool Arms Recipe (A) (1x Intricate Gizmo (A), 2x Orichalcum Bolts (A), 5x Sleetmetal Tube (B), 2x Rust-Proof Spring (A), 1x Orichalcum Ingot (A), Invention Gear) Testing the Hypothesis - To ensure the aspiring roboticist’s new multitool is in working order, tests are needed to determine the full range of its capabilities. When any other party member makes a roll after hours, except for high rolling, the aspiring roboticist may choose to assist them, adding 1d4 to the roll. The test is successful if the roll achieves a neutral or better result. The aspiring roboticist may conduct a maximum of 3 of these tests during every after hours. Ten successful tests are necessary to fulfill this requirement. The roboticist’s multitool may not be used to grant this bonus again after this requirement has been fulfilled. Controlling for Variables - Aspiring roboticists must gain confidence from successfully testing their inventions. Sixteen successful uses of any items they have made will fulfill this requirement. Any party member may contribute to this requirement by successfully using the aspiring roboticist’s creations. Drakes are excluded, and successful uses of drakes by any party member do not contribute to this requirement. Drakesmith The roar of drake weaponry is the sound of imminent death. Eye-witnesses are scarce, but the whispers of their devastation ring like echoes of gunfire. Named for their inventor, the famous dwarf Drahk Morihm, the word drake is becoming synonymous with these destructive firearms. The great expense and complexity of their production limit the number of drakes on the battlefield. They almost seem like a wartime secret. Few combatants have seen a drake in action, and fewer survive their assault. The persistent rumors about them are a testament to their effectiveness as weapons. DRAFT COPY

No single drake is built for every situation. Each new drake is custom-built with specific prey in mind. Short-ranged spread shooters are best for peppering massed mobs, while cannon-like behemoths are there to fell the sturdiest foes. Long-ranged single-shot drakes are reserved for the most dangerous game. Enterprising drakesmiths constantly dream of the dragons their inventions will ultimately destroy. Such dedication to a single line of work is rare amongst artisans. Still, drakesmiths are so enamored by their handiwork that they overcome creative obstacles, including the drakes’ infamous complexity and material expense. Drakes cannot be runed, corrupted or otherwise modified due to the complex and mechanical nature of these weapons. They can only be improved with add-ons developed exclusively by drakesmiths to attach to these weapons. Addons can help compensate for a drake’s weaknesses, enhance their strengths, or provide great utility to their wielders. Ammunition provides all the damage and occasionally other effects when firing drakes. Known to be more effective destructively than arrows, these compact pieces come at a substantial material cost to the drakesmith. This is exacerbated by the metal slugs breaking apart and often shattering on impact, making any recovery efforts futile. Craft Mechanics: None of an inventor's wares have devastating effects as far-reaching as the drake. Besides projecting deadly force at unfathomable range, the drakes you make will augment the spellcasting ability of any caster willing to pay for your expensive wares. Item Catalog: Game Changing Drakes. Custom Mods. Versatile Ammunition. Unlocking: Reach A tier skill level with the inventor artisan, then complete the 3 requirements below to unlock the drakesmith mastercraft. Tinkering Shed - Aspiring drakesmiths may order drakesmith recipes after crafting the locker. They will not have the skill to craft with them until the following two requirements are fulfilled. They may not start on the following requirements until the locker has been crafted. Any A-tier inventor pursuing the drakesmith mastercraft may use the following recipe free of charge: Drakesmith’s Locker Recipe (A) (2x Sleetmetal Tube (B), 3x Orichalcum Bolts (A), 6x Orin’s Steel Ingot (A), 4x Terraround Dust (B), 3x Navy Driftwood Plank (A), Invention Gear) Filling the Locker - The aspiring drakesmith must scavenge for the drakesmithing tools required to stock their locker. They must participate in and win a single finance liquidation round to obtain these tools. Proceeds from this liquidation round will go to acquiring these tools, thus forfeiting any other liquidation benefits for the subsequent two after hours sessions. Any other party member may offer the drakesmith their victory in the liquidation round. Afterwards, this DRAFT COPY

requirement is considered fulfilled, and the investment will resume a payout of gold. Target practice - The aspiring drakesmith must sharpen their marksmanship abilities first before making weapons of such high caliber. To fulfill this requirement, they must score at least 3 critical hits with a drake at any time in combat during their adventures. These critical hits cannot come from effects that guarantee critical hits. Drake Mechanics Drakes provide intrinsic core stats, including range, firing speed, add-ons limits, and other special effects. The damage variable and clip size are accounted for by ammunition. Drakes may not be runed, corrupted, or modified by other artisans. They may only be modified with drake add-ons. Each drake can accommodate a limited number of add-ons at any given time. Every character is proficient in drake use as they are designed to work with any character archetype. They range from one-handed dual-wieldable units to larger two-handed models and squad-operated weapons. Unlike bows & blowguns, which may be fired with unlimited basic ammunition, drakes will always require ammunition. This ammunition may be the physical type that an inventor crafts or spell ammunition that spellcasters can provide. A drake can be reloaded regardless of any ammunition remaining in the clip. Reloading is only required when a physical ammunition clip is spent or if a drake requires it as part of its specific effects. Reloading any drake with a new physical ammunition clip will take a bonus action. Each drake provides the firing speed stat. This is the maximum number of shots fired in a single ranged weapon attack (For example, if the firing speed of your drake is 3, you will fire 3 shots in a single ranged weapon attack). Each shot will have its own attack roll. Attack speed is a separate stat from the drake-specific firing speed (For example, if Velia, the 5th level Ranger, has +2 attack speed from her gear, and she takes the attack action on her turn in combat, she will attack four times with her drake. If her drake has a higher firing speed than 1, it will fire that many more times for each attack made with her drake. In this example, her drake has a firing speed of 2, and Velia would make 8 attack rolls this turn.) Shooting spells out of a drake is the exception to the previous rule. Only one leveled spell may be cast per character on their turn in combat. That means only one leveled spell may be fired through a drake on each turn a spellcaster takes, regardless of a drake’s firing speed. Some drakes may split up a single spell’s effects into multiple less effective projectiles or may otherwise modify a spell. Effects like these will be specific to a particular drake. Cantrips, such as Eldritch Blast, may be fired more than once out of the same drake in the same combat turn as the caster normally would. Firing speed will not affect cantrips fired from a drake and will not grant any additional cantrip attacks. DRAFT COPY

A single drake may not fire a spell and physical ammunition in the same combat turn. Spellcasting-focused add-ons are required for any drake to accept spells as ammunition. A physical ammunition clip and a spellcasting addon may not be fitted to the same drake simultaneously. A drake’s stats & effects apply to any spells fired through them (for instance, a spell fired through a drake will assume the drake’s range). The rules regarding concentration spells apply as normal when fired from a drake. Firing two one-handed drakes in the same combat turn is possible through the Drake Mastery feature. Drake add-ons may be changed during combat using one bonus action per addon unequipped or swapped. Outside of combat, addons may be exchanged freely. In addition, only one of any particular drake addon may be attached to the same drake. When a drake reaches 40 stacks of inflammation, it overheats and cannot be used for 1 hour or the rest of that combat. Inflammation is only applied from specific drake add-ons & effects Scribe Aladia’s books are brimming with magical life. Illustrations float off the page in animated choreography while text dances on the page with the tone of their authors. Maps project a living landscape that shifts with the seasons. The written word of Aladia is adorned with the magic of scribes with their parchment craft supplying the canvas for the world’s living histories. The scribe’s art is magical in nature, and so are the finished products of their craft. No spellcaster can wield finer foci than scribe-made tomes. The variety and potence of their spell-enhancing capabilities are unmatched in the crafting world. The quality of their craft is surpassed only by the expense of their artform. The rarest scribing materials command outlandish prices, inflating the value of a humble scribe’s work. Scribes are not one-trick ponies. They go beyond books and tomes, crafting maps and scrolls unveiling Aladia’s obscure and magical secrets. Scribes also publish mundane informative volumes for those seeking to broaden their academic horizons on the go, rounding out their list of scholastic wares. Craft Mechanics: Scribes specialize in preserving knowledge that people gather about aladia. While you accommodate volumes of information in the tomes you craft, you become privy to magical secrets that elevate your craft and the adventuring profession. Item Catalog: One-Handed Tome Weapons. Gathering Secrets Study is the prime occupation of scribes, and specialization is inevitable on their path. Some scribes choose the astromancer's life, drawn, unlike most scholars, to the adventure of travel. They chart their explorations through the world on living maps unearthing secrets along the way. Words are an inadequate mirror for Aladia's living wonders. Some scribes may witness life in the many accounts of it in books but are ill-content. They instead pursue the secrets of Aladia’s ecosystems by cataloging life within the pages of their living tomes in the highest resolution possible, subsuming souls when the opportunity presents itself. In their studies, Lifebinders follow clues to a promise of incalculable power. Astromancer A scribe’s mind hums with thoughts of the day's transcription. When the last of the candlelight flickers out, their eyes wander the dancing lights of Aladia’s night sky. Most fall asleep, exhausted. Others, patient enough, witness glimmers of ancient knowledge writ in scribbles with pin-pricks of light. It is not the fledgeling astromancer’s lot to know the messenger, for the message alone is vast, and the secrets they unlock are inconceivable. The stars of Aladia seem fixed to the sky, save for a few that wander, a handful that streak, and the innumerable that blink in and out of existence. There are many theories as to the stars of Aladia, but all Astromancers see are scrawl of something prodigious, demanding to be recognized and recorded. The immense scale and transitory nature of Aladian constellations, flickering and reforming, demands a lot from ordinary scribes, leading astromancers to develop inks of light on living parchment, and projection techniques to cast stellar geometries upon the surface of Aladia. Tracing this living geometry has unveiled astromancy, a magical discipline, both young and ancient. Its scale is so vast that spells require broad, spatial strokes and sweeping gestures. Its magic is so primal and ubiquitous that any careful student can tap its power. Astromancers from all walks are eager students to an unseen master, gleaning wisdom heretofore unknown. Four intensive periods of astrological study must be conducted to master the intricacies of star charting. Materials for this practice will cost 50 gold each and can be obtained once every market portion of after hours. After fulfilling this requirement, aspiring astromancers may draft A and S grade start charts during the market portion of after hours. Navigating by the stars - Astromancers seek to plot every corner of Aladia’s skies. An aspiring astromancer must travel the world to discover the firmament above each Aladian region. On their travels, they must pass a DC 15 Nature or DC 16 Insight check to successfully record stellar positions above an area of the world they are currently in. They must pass four such checks, each in unique areas of the world, to satisfy this requirement. These checks can be attempted only once in an area of the map per long rest (For example, an aspiring astromancer may try this check once in High Harvest, then again on the same day in Lower Harvest, but must wait until their next long rest has passed before returning to High Harvest for another attempt if they did not pass the first one). Areas are defined as named places on the world map, including towns, but excluding individual city districts. DRAFT COPY

Lifebinder A lifebinder’s lust for power knows no bounds, their sense of sacrifice distorted by the power that awaits them. They dominate all other magic users by offering their own vital essence in their craft, pouring their lifeforce into parchment to empower it beyond normal limits. Even the creation of new forms of magic is not beyond the lifebinder’s ken when they are willing to pay the price. Lifebinder scrolls contain terrifying levels of energy within single pages, ready to be unleashed at a moment’s notice. Great works of magical innovation, their tome creations are physically grotesque, twisted from bridling horrifying powers inconceivable to their peers. The steep costs of lifebinding are unconscionable to other artisans. A lifebinder may see their skin and bones shrivel, their eyesight waver, and their souls falter even before their creations have absorbed enough vitality. After their ritual sacrifice, no individual is more vulnerable than a lifebinder at their weakest hour. Some desperate lifebinders have cut what few reins keep them safe. They let their unfettered desires loose on the pages of their tomes. No record exists amongst current lifebinders of what happens after this final line is crossed. Craft Mechanics: A lifebinder takes their own life essence and commits that power to the page. By making significant personal sacrifices, you learn to unlock new spells, magics and tome crafts to empower the most accomplished spellcasters. Item Catalog: Improved Tome Weapons and Two-handed Scroll Weapons. Greater Aladian Spell Scrolls. Wondrous Tome Trinkets Unlocking: Scribes must reach A-tier skill level with the artisan and complete the three additional requirements below to unlock the lifebinder mastercraft. These sacrifices may only be made in the crafting portion of after hours. In addition, any materials sacrificed may not be used for future crafts and count only towards fulfilling this requirement. The aspiring lifebinder will obtain the following item upon finishing this requirement: Lifebinder’s Knife (A). Quite the Appetite - A lifebinder’s quill is a curious utensil. Emblematic of the drive within each aspiring lifebinder, it hungers for power and must be fed from the essence of other creatures, lest it feast on weakened lifebinders. The aspiring lifebinder must slay four unique creatures, each with a challenge rating of seven or more, to sate the quill’s mighty appetite, fulfilling this requirement. The aspiring lifebinder only has to participate in these kills and does not need to deliver the final blow. The aspiring lifebinder will receive the Lifebinder’s Quill (A) upon satisfying this requirement. Price of Power - To obtain a Lifebinder’s Sacrifice, the lifebinder must roll a d8 on the table below during the crafting portion of after hours. The lifebinder must roll on this table each time they wish to obtain a Lifebinder’s Sacrifice but may not create more than three of these sacrifices every after hours. These sacrifices are used in components required for lifebinder items. DRAFT COPY
