o The severe outbreak of the pandemic has has
demanded the country to implement the
movement control order or MCO.
o As a people oriented industry, tourism is one of the
hardest hit economic sectors.

➢ CURRENT TREND
o The Government through Budget 2022 has
announced the privision of social Assistance to
more than 20,000 tourism operators registered
under The Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture
Malaysia (MOTAC) for a period of three months
with an allocation of RM85 million.
o The 2022 Financial Assistance is one of the
Government’s initiatives to help the tourism.
o This initiative can help revive the country's tourism
sector.

➢ FUTURE OUTLOOK
o Tourism is vital for the success of many economies
around the world. There are several benefits of
tourism for host destinations. Tourism boosts the
revenue of the economy, create jobs, develops the
infrastructure of a country, and facilities a sense of
cultural exchange between foreigners and citizens.

MALAYSIAN ASSOCIATION OF TOUR AND TRAVEL
AGENTS (MATTA)

ROLES/FUNCTION
1. To unite, supervise and coordinate the activities
of the members
2. To publicise , encourage , promote and extend
the tourist and travel trade
3. To develop friendship and common purpose
among the members of the tourist and travel
industry
4. To promote the interests of the travel and tour
industry in Malaysia. MATTA works closely with
the Ministry of Tourism (Motour) as well as
Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (MTPB), help
organise fairs, seminars, convention and
workshops both to create public awareness of the
tourism industry as well as to benefit its members

includes Sunway University, KLMU, Taylor’s University and others in
supporting quality culinary education
 PCA is also involved in working closely with the Malaysian
Association of Hotels (MAH) and Malaysian Food and Beverage
Executive Association (MFBEA) in organising the Culinaire Malaysia
– the main national culinary completion in accordance to the
competition guidelines and rules of Worldchefs.

FUTURE OUTLOOK
 Through the Short-Term Economic Recovery Plan in

Malaysia, the hotels, resorts and property development
business segments are stimulating local economic activities
by adopting a prudent approach and remaining agile across
its business operations till now.
 Malaysia is set to boost its international presence as a
culinary paradise as chefs from more than 100 countries are
set to convene in Kuala Lumpur.

The conclusion is what we learned from all
Organization after Impact, Current Trend and
Future Outlook. They know how importance of
the tourism industry in Malaysia. At the end of
the day, the tourism industry will survive the

pandemic as it is vital to our country’s
economy. Moreover, after being at our homes
for more than a year, people will be opting to

go for small gateways, relieving the local
tourism.
