(FESKUM)
University of Malaya Convocation Festival, or Festival Konvokesyen Universiti
Malaya, better known as FESKUM, is one of the biggest events in UM that you
might not want to miss out! Functions as a commemoration dedicated to
graduates of the University of Malaya, regardless of faith or nation, while
fostering national integration by displaying diverse customs and cultures. For
sure, you will not want to miss the chance in developing yourselves with a
variety of skills such as basic event management skills, soft skills, and
entrepreneurial skills.
FESKUM also implements the “from students to students” concept which will
be realized by redirecting most of the profit and funds gained in upgrading
facilities in UM that will be useful to all the students in the long run.

SUKAN MAHASISWA
UNIVERSITI MALAYA (SUKMUM)
SUKMUM or otherwise known as Sukan Mahasiswa Universiti Malaya is an annual
programme held by the Sports Centre, University of Malaya. Every year all residential
colleges will send representatives to participate in sports competitions such as
badminton, swimming, tennis, netball, basketball, table tennis, volleyball, handball,
football, softball, chess, bowling, kayaking, tarik tali, track and field and so on.
The objective for this event is to look for more potential athletes in different sports to
represent our university and compete with others and create a strong bonding
between different cultures and backgrounds of the students.

(PTUM)
Pesta Tanglung Universiti Malaya (PTUM) is an annual cultural program held by the
Student Affairs Division of University of Malaya to retain and exhibit Chinese heritage
and culture. It is a cultural program held solely by students to reserve the unique
Chinese culture. The objective of the event is to display various aspects of the 5000 years
old Chinese heritage. There are a lot of activities such as mall events, lantern night,
opening ceremony, exhibition, carnival and cultural night. PTUM is celebrating its 20th
anniversary in this year, do check their social media pages for more information

The Reserve Officer Training Unit (ROTU), or also known as PALAPES is a cooperation
program between the Ministry of Defense Malaysia and the Ministry of Higher
Education for students at Public Universities (IPTA).

SUKARELAWAN POLIS SISWA SISWI
(SUKSIS)
The establishment of the SUKSIS Corps or also called as Police Undergraduate
Voluntary Corps is under the provisions of the law according to the Police Act
1967. This establishment is to fill the "vacuum" in terms of public involvement
in the Royal Malaysian Police.
The reason why SUKSIS is established is to provide education to students at
the Public Universities (IPTA) in an 'Informal' manner and expose them to
beneficial activities that can shape their personality in spiritual and physical
aspects.

Sekretariat Sukarelawan Universiti Malaya (SEKRUM) or Volunteering
Secretariat University of Malaya was established in November 2012 under the
supervision of Campus and Volunteer Unit, Students Affairs and Alumni
Division, University of Malaya.
After almost seven years of establishment, SEKRUM has expanded its name in
University of Malaya, and has successfully carried out various volunteering
programs up to the national as well as international level.

FESTIVAL SENI
UNIVERSITI MALAYA
(FESENI)
Festival Seni Universiti Malaya (FESENI UM) is an art performing competition
organized by University of Malaya Cultural Centre since 1975. It has been a
highlight of UM's campus arts activities and has become popular and highly
regarded by campus residents, especially residents of residential colleges.
Each residential college will send teams for participation and give their best
performance.
Popular cultural field or stage performance that will be completed are Boria,
Dikir Barat, Choir, Nasyid, Pop Band, Traditional Malay Rhythmic Singing,
Malay Singing, English Singing, Kompang, Poem Manifestation, Acoustic Band,
National Traditional Dance, Creative Dance, Indian Dance and Chinese Dance.
Participation is open to all students within and off campus alongside UM staff.
Since 1996, the name of this event was changed to feseni (the festival of
cultural arts in UM) and will be awaited by cultural art activists to unleash
their talent and creativity.
