Operation: Komelon steel tapes provide consistent hardness for the
blade and spring in combination with deburred edge treatment. It provides
superior operation and maintains complete function for a lifetime use.

Superior Blade Quality

Deburred edges: Rough edges on traditional blades
cause early corrosion and rusting. Komelon steel blades
have deburred edge treatment which prevent the rough
edges that cause premature damage.
Dura NY Coat™: The superior Komelon nylon coating
reduces wear and abrasion. Featuring a special embossed
finish for enhanced protection and reduced glare. The
rust-resistant nylon coating covers the entire blade surface
ensuring long-lasting readability and durability.

Komelon is the exclusive manufacturer of
a worldwide patented magnetic tip which
has been granted U.S.PAT.6,678,967,
D486,486 & EP 1 241 061 B1

The powerful magnetic tip holds the
tape measure firmly in place on iron and
steel surfaces. The magnet strength is
enough to keep the end hook in position
when working either horizontally or
vertically.
Note: Magnetic strength will vary with different types of metal surfaces.

Guaranteed Accuracy

Accuracy: Accuracy is measured and certified in the form of a tolerance class in
Europe. Komelon’s advanced technology is certified as meeting tolerance Class II.

The tolerance is determined at 20oC. The tolerance for Class II is determined by the
formula (a+bxL), where a and b are fixed (see table below) and L is the total length.

The end hook slides to adjust to ensure accurate inside and outside measurements.

Salt Spray Test
Salt spray testing provides a controlled corrosive environment in order to produce
relative corrosion resistance results. Samples are exposed to a salt solution of 5%
Sodium Chloride (salt water is typically 1.8% to 3%), in an environment maintained at
95oF/35oC for up to 72 hours.

A. Stainless steel blade and spring:
