With the aim of our agency, #TESDAAbotLahat, Jacobo
Z. Gonzales Memorial School of Arts and Trades
(JZGMSAT) sent two trainers who volunteered to conduct
training in Electrical and Carpentry in the affected areas
in Palawan. As Mr. Alvin Saulon (Assistant Professor II)
and Mr. Erwin Laberinto (Vocational Instruction
Supervisor) arrived at Barangay Magara, City of Roxas,
Puerto Princesa, Palawan, they witnessed the tragedy
brought by typhoon Odette. There was no source of
electricity, so the purpose of their visit changed.
Together with the other trainers, they built houses for
the affected children and families. Each family was
granted a house with a measurement of 10ft by 10ft with a
total of 11 families. During those three weeks of their
stay, they experienced different challenges at the site; hot
weather and dusty place caused by the previous storm,
"the place was expectedly so devastated", said Mr. Saulon.
