Niketa is stepping to its Silver Jubilee Year by September 2017.
All that started in very small way, has been established in to its current form due
to the Goodwill, with Support of all our Clients, Architects/Engineers and
vendors, that will continue to many more years to come.
In the pursuit of achieving technical excellence through constant upgrade of
knowledge and sharing, we in Niketa are now bringing out a news letter, in
which we wish to share few Technical Aspects & Methodology that we have
adopted in our execution.
We hope that this effort will benefit the industry by large.

PSG iTech - E1 & E2 Blocks

Architects & Consultants  :

M/s. S.D.Sharma Associates, Chandigarh.

Structural Consultants  :

Area  : M/s.  Mithran Structures, Coimbatore.
1,28,000 Sft.

Academic blocks of E1 and E2 were done for               
GRIHA Certification, which is India’s national rating
system for green buildings, founded by TERI.
Each block was carried out with extensive care for
environment and labour welfare, with utmost importance
to quality and safety.
The gallery in the Seminar Hall are the highlight of the
project. Beams and slabs were casted in a stepped
manner, to form the gallery. .

PSG iTech - Connection Corridor Between E1 & E2 Blocks

Structural Consultants  :

M/s.  Mithran Structures, Coimbatore.

Area  : 3,000 Sft.

The corridor standing tall at a height of 7 Meter                            
& span of 21.5 Meter shows our technical capability.
It connects the academic blocks of E1 and E2 at 2nd floor. 
Inverted waffle beams of depth 1.2 Meter and slabs were
casted with concrete of grade M 30 and later filled with   
foam concrete on top.

Foam Concrete

Coarse aggregate being replaced by polystyrene beads and
hence reducing the density of concrete to 1100 kg/cum .
7.5 kg of beads were used for 1 cum of concrete.

PSG iTech - Girls Hostel & Kitchen

Structural Consultants  :

M/s.  Mithran Structures, Coimbatore.

Area  : 1,20,000 Sft.

Girls hostel and kitchen each a G + 4 structure are a perfect
example our expertise in time and material management. The
entire project was completed and handed over within 9 months.
The kitchen includes a high bay of 6.7 Meter for the cooking
area .

PSG iTech - Convention Centre

RCC Photo • The convention centre is a landmark to be structure,
coming up inside the PSG iTech campus,  Neelambur, Cbe.
• Major challenges include clearing of hard rock strata
which was encountered at a depth of 1.5 Meter from the
NGL and the depth required at certain places being 6
Meter from NGL. Nearly 4000 numbers of rock holes
drilled and splitter used to split the hard rock.
• A Multipurpose hall is provided at basement level at
(-)2.73 Meter  and its roof beams have been casted in a
stepped manner to form the gallery on the top. Later filled
using foam concrete to form the profile of the gallery.       
A total of 110 cum of foam concrete has been used.
• The balcony is a steel structure of  Mild steel  grade         
Ys 350 . SB1 and SB2 being the main beams, each of spans
36.6 Meter.  Top and bottom flange of both the beams
were 32mm thick MS Plate.
• Welding joint of a 32mm thick plate requires precision
and optimum conditions. The plates were initially heated
to 150 degree Centigrade by blow torch and arc welded
using E7018 electrode maintained at 300 degree
Centigrade in an oven.

PSG - Samarpan Crematorium - CSR Activity

• The most challenging work in the project was to Structural Consultants  :
cast the circular beams as structure itself was of a
circular plan. M/s.  Mithran Structures, Coimbatore.
• 3 beams- Outer beam with size 230mm x 450mm
for a length of 127 Meter, middle beam 300mm x Area  : 17,000 Sft.
1000mm for 91.5 Meter and inner beam 300mm x
1000mm for 30.5 Meter were casted with apt
selection of centering materials and excellent
workmanship.
• Thermal conductive bricks have been used for the
furnace walls for better heat insulation. It also has
two galleries, a STP, a steel chimney of 30 Meter
height and a water body.

Dhivyam Life Care Hospital, Salem.

It is a 100 bedded hospital coming up at Salem – Architects & Consultants  :
Bangalore highway at mamangam.

KCT - Jyothi Nilayam - International Guest house

As per the requirement of client, the entire building Architects & Consultants  :

Another interesting part of the structure is the folded
helical staircase casted to perfection.
