EDITOR the latest news thats going on in and out of the building, fun pages and many more interesting and exciting articles. The
paper does not write itself though. It consists of many staff members apart of West High who come out with a paper each
Smonth. Every month, staff members will be featured.
hauna Honaker, senior, is the current News Editor on the staff. She has been on the team since
her sophomore year of High School. She was initially introduced to the class her freshman year in
Mrs. Amy Whaley’s Computer Applications class. She has since been apart of and enjoyed greatly her
time here on the staff. Being on the staff has opened up many opportunities for her. She joined FBLA
and placed various times. This year, she got the opportunity to travel to Chattanooga to compete at
the state level in journalism. Through all of her accomplishments, she was able to graduate with
distinction. Aside from being very active academically and within our building, she enjoys spending
time with her pets. Honaker recently adopted a puppy and spends a majority of her time caring for
her new friend. After graduating, Honaker plans to attend Carson Newman University. As the end is
approaching for her, at West High, she has made many memorable friends and helped our staff grow.
This will be my last year on the newspaper staff, and I am currently the Editor of the paper.
I was, as well as Honaker, introduced to this course, my freshman year in Mrs. Amy Wha-
ley’s computer applications course. I wanted to join the staff because it seemed like an awesome
opportunity to see what more there was than just being a Trojan. Three years on the staff has
greatly improved my computer skills, especially my Photoshop abilities. I was able to compete in
many different competitions. Two advertisements that I created, placed in the top three at the
state level. By being apart of the staff, and placing at the state level, I was able to graduate with
distinction. Aside from school, i enjoy listening to music and spending time with my friends. I
plan to attend East Tennessee State University with my sister, Cat. I have two younger brothers
and a dog, Maui. Overall, I have enjoyed my stay here and cannot wait for the chapter of my life.
