Inspections for Complaint Verification The first category of site inspections focuses on assessing the site based on complaints related to open space encroachment and damage to children's playground equipment that require thorough investigation to verify the validity of the complaints and gather all relevant information. Interns, under the supervision of the Assistant Landscape Architect, conduct these inspections to meticulously document the site conditions. They take detailed notes, photographs, and measurements to capture the extent of the encroachment or damage. This information is then used to compile comprehensive reports, which are essential for planning appropriate follow-up actions. 3.3.2. Inspections for Landscape Plan Applications The second category of site inspections involves working closely with developers and landscape architects to review submitted landscape plan applications, known as 'Permohonan Pelan Landskap.' These inspections are essential for gaining a comprehensive overview of the site and verifying the proposed landscape design. During these visits, interns observe and document the site’s existing conditions. They then compare these observations with the proposed plans to ensure that the designs are feasible and meet the required standards. By doing so, they can make necessary adjustments to the plans before the implementation phase, ensuring that the final landscape design is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. 3.3.3 Inspections for Security Deposit Claims The third category of site inspections is conducted to review the proposed trees and playground areas as specified in the submitted landscape plan applications. These inspections are particularly important for developers seeking to claim their security deposit, known as 'Wang Pertaruhan,' after a two-year period. During these inspections, interns work alongside developers and assistant landscape architect to evaluate the condition of the planted trees and the installed playground equipment. They assess whether these elements have been maintained properly and meet the initial specifications outlined in the landscape plan. This evaluation includes checking the health and growth of the trees, the functionality and safety of the

This project began with two detailed nursery visits to 'Sharm Fertigasi' to ensure the proper selection and procurement of ornamental plants. The initial visit involved a thorough inspection of the available plant species and pre-ordering the desired ornamental plants based on their aesthetic appeal, health, and suitability for the event's theme. During the second visit to 'Sharm Fertigasi,' the quantities and specific species of the ornamental plants were carefully confirmed and finalized. This step was crucial to ensure that all the selected plants would meet the event's requirements and would be available in sufficient quantities. A comprehensive list of the ornamental plants was then meticulously compiled and documented in a 'Bill of Quantities.' This document served as a detailed record of the plant species, their quantities, and the costs involved, ensuring transparency and accurate budgeting for the project. Following the procurement of the plants, the team proceeded with the decoration phase at Istana Anak Bukit. The ornamental plants were thoughtfully arranged in several strategic locations around the palace grounds to enhance the festive ambiance. Key areas of focus included the main entrance, walkways, and designated event spaces, ensuring that each location was adorned with a harmonious blend of colours, textures, and plant varieties.

The theme selected by the Assistant Landscape Architect for this special occasion was 'Rumah Kampung.’ This theme aimed to evoke a sense of nostalgia and tradition, reflecting the warm and welcoming atmosphere of a traditional Malaysian village home during the festive season. To achieve this vision, a diverse selection of ornamental plants was carefully chosen to align with the 'Rumah Kampung' theme. The plants were selected for their aesthetic qualities, cultural significance, and ability to enhance the overall ambiance of the celebration. These plants were strategically placed to decorate key areas of the hall, including the stage, entrance, and photobooths, creating a cohesive and immersive environment that resonated with the theme. In addition to the ornamental plants, several decorative structures were designed and constructed by the dedicated staff of Jabatan Landskap dan Rekreasi. Under the expert guidance of the Assistant Landscape Architect, these structures included seating arrangements and photobooths, which were crafted to complement the overall theme and provide functional yet aesthetically pleasing elements to the decor. The seating arrangements were designed to mimic traditional village furniture, while the photobooths were crafted to offer guests an opportunity to capture memorable moments against a backdrop that reflected the charm of a 'Rumah Kampung.' The process of designing these structures involved careful planning and collaboration. The Assistant Landscape Architect provided valuable advice on materials, design principles, and aesthetic considerations, ensuring that each piece not only matched the theme but also met the

The staff's creativity and craftsmanship played a crucial role in bringing these designs to life, resulting in unique and culturally significant decorative elements. To further enhance the atmosphere and environment of Dewan Kenangan, decorative lights were meticulously installed. These lights were chosen to complement the natural beauty of the ornamental plants and the handmade decorative structures. They were strategically placed to highlight key areas, create a warm and inviting glow, and enhance the overall festive ambiance. The interplay of light and shadow added depth and dimension to the decorations, making the hall not only visually stunning but also evoking a sense of celebration and joy. The completion of this project required careful coordination and a keen eye for detail. From the initial selection of plants and materials to the final installation of decorations and lights, every step was executed with precision and creativity. The result was a beautifully decorated hall that perfectly captured the essence of the 'Rumah Kampung' theme, providing a memorable and enchanting setting for the Eid-Fitr Celebration. This ambitious landscape beautification project aims to enhance the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the median road of Jalan Kampung Baru, thereby contributing to the overall urban beautification efforts in Sungai Petani. To bring this proposal to fruition, detailed construction drawings were essential. These drawings were tasked with providing a comprehensive overview of the ideas and discussions that had taken place during the planning stages. The construction drawings included meticulously detailed base plans, elevations, top views, softscape and hardscape schedules. Each of these elements was crafted to ensure a clear and thorough representation of the proposed landscape improvements. The preparation of these construction drawings was a collaborative effort, undertaken with the invaluable guidance of the Assistant Landscape Architect. The drawings were carefully arranged in a professional layout suitable for documentation purposes. This layout ensured that all aspects of the proposal were clearly communicated and easily understood by all stakeholders involved in the project. Throughout the drawing process, the ideas and discussions between the director and the Assistant Landscape Architect were meticulously documented and incorporated into the construction plans. These discussions encompassed various aspects of the project, including the selection of plant species, the design of hardscape elements, and the integration of sustainable practices. By including these collaborative insights, the construction drawings not only represented the technical aspects of the project but also captured the creative and strategic vision behind the beautification efforts. As the initial construction drawings were completed, they set the stage for further refinement and finalization. The next steps involved additional discussions and reviews by the director and the Assistant Landscape Architect. [COMPREHENSIVE INTERNSHIP REPORT | MAJLIS PERBANDARAN SUNGAI PETANI KEDAH] 34 team to accurately visualize the proposed enhancements through a 3D model. The site visit allowed for a comprehensive understanding of the spatial dimensions, and existing conditions, ensuring that the 3D model would be both realistic and practical. The responsibility for executing the metalworks and construction activities was entrusted to the skilled staff of Jabatan Landskap dan Rekreasi. My role, as an intern, was to develop a detailed 3D model using Sketchup. This model was intended to serve as a visual aid, providing a clear and tangible representation of the proposed arches and softscape enhancements. The 3D model was crucial for conveying the design intent to the construction team, enabling them to better understand and execute the project with precision. Throughout the design process, all ideas and concepts were meticulously discussed and refined in collaboration with the assistant landscape architect and subsequently approved by the director. These discussions ensured that the design was aligned with the overall vision and objectives of the project. The 3D model incorporated all the feedback and suggestions from these discussions, ensuring that it accurately reflected the agreed-upon design. This report was subsequently presented to the director of Jabatan Landskap dan Rekreasi for review. During the presentation, all ideas and design proposals were thoroughly discussed, resulting in the decision to develop a detailed and proper layout. This layout was to include both construction drawings and a 3D model, providing a clear and comprehensive visual representation of the proposed enhancements. As part of the next steps, I was assigned the task of creating the construction drawings and the 3D model for this proposal. This responsibility involved translating the discussed ideas and design concepts into precise technical drawings and a detailed 3D visualization. The construction drawings were essential for outlining the specific dimensions, materials, and construction methods to be used, ensuring that all aspects of the project were clearly defined and could be executed accurately. The process of designing the 3D model was a crucial phase, as it required careful consideration of the previous discussions and ideas shared between the director and the assistant landscape architect. To ensure the 3D model accurately reflected the envisioned design, I worked closely with the assistant landscape architect throughout the entire process. Their guidance was invaluable in helping to align the model with the established concepts and ensuring that every detail was in accordance with the project's objectives.
