In Superwrite, we will not write
SILENT LETTERS, in order to write
faster.

The letters that should be written are:
day, d-a see, s-e aid, a-d
save, s-a-v dough, d-o easy, e-s-y

In the word day, the y is silent.
In see, one e is silent.
In aid, the i is silent.
In save, the e is silent.
In dough, the u, the g, and the h are silent.
In easy, the a is silent.

In Superwrite, long vowel words are
considered similar to how they are
pronounced alone.

Ex:

a as in ate e as in eat and near

i as in light o as in vote

u as in hue

❖ In addition, we will consider the u in rule
and true, the y in try, and the y in easy to
be long.

Different Long Vowel
When a letter is pronounced as a
different long vowel, write that long
vowel. As in the word freight, the e-i
combination is pronounced a, written as
f-r-a-t.

body of the words.
