YOU MAKE THIS POSSIBLE!

Cameron made her imprint on the world,
and her legacy to carry on her story.

Cameron Gallagher was a bright and talented teenager.
Although ever-smiling, she faced her own personal battles with
depression and anxiety. She began to grow weary of remaining

silent and knew that there were many teens like her in great
pain behind closed doors. Her dream was to create a 5k race to
raise awareness of teenage depression, letting others know that

it was okay to “SpeakUp” about their personal battles.
On March 16, 2014, sixteen-year-old Cameron completed
her goal of finishing the Shamrock Half Marathon in Virginia
Beach, and passed away suddenly from an undiagnosed heart

condition just after crossing the finish line.
Cameron’s dream of a SpeakUp5k was realized when
her family and the community orchestrated the inaugural

race in Richmond, VA, in September 2014.
