TENNIS

Happy Thanksgiving to all our Members, Staff and of course to
all their families. It's a great time of the year to give thanks for
all that we have, especially here at the LHPYC. Also, it's a great
time of the year to play tennis. The Thanksgiving morning
Round Robin will be held from 9AM-11AM. Come one come
all a mixed-up format will used to include everyone! Winners
will receive pumpkin pies to bring home for their afternoon
Thanksgiving Day feasts.

The Ladies’ Teams have gotten off to a flying start as well as
the Coastal League. In fact, Dorothy Iaconis and Andrea Corn
played the longest match 3 1/2 hours which they won in the
third set. CONGRATULATIONS, LADIES!

The Ladies’ Team Practices are going well on Wednesdays, so
let’s all participate. The Men's Singles Ladder is in full swing,
so please stop by the Pro Shop and sign up.

Christian Langmo just returned from Australia where he has won 4 more rounds
in qualifying and 3 more main draw matches, including a win over Aaron
Addison. He is moving in the right direction from 1135 to 995 in the world. Keep
up the good work, Christian. You’re making us all proud!

Also, CONGRATULATIONS to our Charles Rohr and my
son Gio who hit the targets on the SNAUWAERT DEMO
DAY and took home the prizes. Way to go, guys! We will do
it again soon.

FITNESS & YOUTH ACTIVITIES

FITNESS

Quickly approaching is my favorite time of the year. With the
holidays coming up, we can all tend to indulge (perhaps
overindulge) in our favorite food and drinks. Just a reminder
that the Fitness Center and Group Classes are available to all
Members. It would be my pleasure to meet with anyone who
has any questions related to fitness goals, workout routines,
etc. I’ve been very fortunate to work with so many Members.
Give me a call at 954-802-1099 or send me an email
[email protected].

Our Group Fitness Class schedule is available via the
members’ portal on the website and on the calendar page of
this newsletter. If you haven’t had a chance to come to a class,
please come and check it out! We have a lively, fun bunch who
come out faithfully for each class. Here’s to a healthy and
happy holiday season!

YOUTH ACTIVITIES

What a ‘spooktacular’ month of October we just had! Please join us for our Kids Day on Saturday, November 17th
at 10AM as we celebrate the Fall Harvest by decorating the Club and making some fun crafts to take home for the
holidays. Of course, we will play fun games, sports, and have a pool party!

As December approaches, please keep in mind that we will have some pop-up dates where we will be hosting
youth events at the Club to allow parents some time to get Christmas shopping done. Stay tuned to the Club’s
email blasts and text messaging for more information.

year when we hold our annual Change of Watch. That is when the new officers and Board of Governors are
installed. I am very proud to say that I will be the very first Commodore who has been selected to take office
again. Nearly half of our board and officers have served previously. I believe that we all take great pride in the
success of our club as it goes into its 52nd year.
We invite all yacht club members to watch the spectacular boat parade and ceremony held on November 4th at
3PM, right here at the yacht club’s back deck. The ceremony and parade are likely the most impressive event and if
you have never attended you are in for a real treat.
On November 7th, we are holding a special celebration as we introduce our new Board of Governors and welcome
the newest Corinthians into our family. You certainly don’t need to be a Corinthian to attend and it is a great
opportunity to see why the Corinthians are more vibrant than ever. The celebration will be held on the pool deck,
weather permitting (indoors if not), with a full buffet dinner and dancing. The cost for non-Corinthians is $40,
including tax and service fees. Corinthians pay $32. Hope to see you there. Don’t miss this opportunity to come see
what we are all about.
We will end November with a boating weekend at the beautiful Williams Island Marina. It will be a gathering of
boaters and non-boaters who will be staying in nearby hotels. We have tennis, dining, pool, and state of the art spa
and fitness center activities planned for onsite. Offsite activities include a trip to the Aventura Mall and a dinner at
one of the area’s best restaurants.
For more information about the Corinthians, please contact Kathy Hall at 303-503-2529.
