The United Methodist Women of Central will
no longer function as a District/Conference
unit as of December 31, 2017. We are
down to one active circle. Elisabeth Circle
will continue to function as a study group and
a support to our church and local missions.
We will have meetings to which all interested
women of the church will be invited to attend.
(More information about that later) As we
have already announced, there will no longer be a Flea-Market,
which was our primary source of income. Without that, we do not
have the financial resources to make a pledge to the district or
support the other financial requests. We will fulfill our obligations
for 2017. It is with regret that this decision has been made, but we
feel that our energy needs to be focused on our church and local
missions. - Patty Parham, UMW President

New Policy Update

The Kitchen Committee, appointed annually by the Board of Trustees, oversees the upkeep and maintenance of the kitchen.
The committee works with all church staff members to ensure safe, sanitary and orderly operation of the CUMC kitchen.
Current members: Jabette Carlson, Sherry Johnson, and Elizabeth Thomas. After recent inspection and evaluation a need
for revision in policy & procedure was determined. The new policies and procedures will enable CUMC to be good stewards
of our resources, provide safety for users and extend gracious hospitality.

- Outside groups are charged a usage fee and provide their own supplies.
- All supplies and disposables are for CUMC use.
- Label & date food for events; remove immediately after. NEVER LEAVE LEFT OVERS.
- Transport food & garbage through kitchen door or main hall emergency door (former entry).
- Double sink is for prep (keep debris out of drain); triple sink is for clean up & food disposal
- Kitchen carts are for kitchen use only & cleaned/sanitized after use.
- Leave coffee dispenser empty & clean—dispose of coffee grounds in garbage, never in sink drain.
- Wash cookware/serving items/utensils in dishwasher & return to labeled container.
- Place dishcloths & towels in laundry bin after every use.
- Pull ice forward for maximum production.
- Lower electric window coverings when Fellowship Hall is in use.
- Only kitchen volunteers are permitted in kitchen during event. Children under 14 permitted w/adult supervision.
- CUMC no longer accepts donated items for kitchen use unless approved by committee or Trustees.
- Take away plates are available for purchase unless otherwise specified after CUMC events.
- Guests may purchase one take away plate for the price of the meal using the container provided by CUMC.
- A plate consists of one meat & sides.
- All guests must be served before take away plates are available.
- All remaining left over food will be used for Family Promise or other church ministries.
