Preface

The Department of Community Development has established
the OTOP Nawatwithi (An Innovative Tourism Project) to develop OTOP
villages enhance their tourism management potentials. Using tourism
as a tool for local communities to generate income and upgrade their
locally-made products and services. Organizing tourism program activities
which integrate D-HOPE (Decentralized Hand - On Program Exhibition)
guidelines allowing the tourists to have their very own hands-on
experience with local activities while travelling, an initiative guided
by Japan. This encourages local communities across the country
to create their own activities that support domestic tourism, giving
tourists the opportunity to experience the charm of the communities.
Get ready to be excited by stunning scenery, local lifestyle, delicious
foods as well as various handmade products created by the people
of your desired destination.

ความเปน มา

หมบู า นผารงั หมี เดมิ มชี อ่ื เรยี กวา “ผาหลงั หม”ี เปน หมบู า นขนาดเลก็ ประชากร
สวนใหญ เปนคนอีสาน เชน จังหวัดกาฬสินธุ จังหวัดขอนแกน จังหวัดมหาสารคาม
จังหวัดรอยเอ็ด จังหวัดศรีสะเกษ จังหวัดยโสธร จังหวัดสุรินทร และจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี
จังหวัดสระบุรี จังหวัดพิจิตร และจังหวัดพิษณุโลก โดยในป พ.ศ. ๒๕๑๘ ไดแยกหมูบาน
ออกจากหมูบานหนองขมิ้น ตำบลบานมุง อำเภอวังทอง จังหวัดพิษณุโลก ตอมาเมื่อป
พ.ศ. ๒๕๒๐ ชาวบา นผารงั หมไี ดร ว มกนั สรา งโรงเรยี นบา นผาหลงั หมขี น้ึ ๑ หลงั โดยไมใ ช
งบประมาณทางราชการ นายอัมพร จันทรวิจิตร รองนายกรัฐมนตรี ไดเดินทางมาเปด
โรงเรียนบานผาหลังหมี และเห็นวาชื่อ หมูบานผาหลังหมี
เปน ชอ่ื ทเ่ี กรงวา จะลำบาก จงึ เหน็ ควรเปลย่ี นเปน “บา นผารงั หม”ี
นา จะอดุ มสมบรู ณแ ละอบอนุ และจงึ เรยี กวา “หมบู า นผารงั หม”ี

Background

Pha Rang Mhee Village, formerly known as
“Pha Lang Mhee”, is a small village with its very diverse
Isan population from many provinces, for example, Kalasin,
Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Sisaket, Yasothon,
Surin, Ubon Ratchathani, Saraburi, Phichit and Phitsanulok
Provinces. In 1975, the village separated itself from
Nong Khamin Village, Ban Mung, Wang Thong District,
Phitsanulok. In 1977, Pha Rang Mhee villagers joined
together and built the Ban Pha Lang Mhee school without
any funding from the government. Mr. Amporn Chantarawichit,
deputy prime minister at that time, traveled to the village
and joined the school opening ceremony. The deputy
prime minister though that Pha Lang Mi is an unlucky
name that may bring hardship to the village so he changed
it to “Baan Pha Rang Mhee” for it to be rich and warm.

บานผารังหมี เปนหมูบานเล็กๆ ที่ลอมรอบดวยภูเขาหินปูน ที่ยังคงรักษาไวซึ่ง
ประเพณี วัฒนธรรม ภูมิปญญาพื้นบาน และวิถีชีวิตของคนอีสาน หมูบานมีความเขมแข็ง
คนในหมูบานอาศัยอยูแบบเรียบงาย โดยนอมนำหลักของปรัชญาเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง
มาใชใ นชวี ติ ประจำวนั จงึ เปน แหลง เรยี นรดู า นเศรษฐกจิ พอเพยี ง ดา นการศลิ ปะ วฒั นธรรม
ของอสี าน ภายใตสโลแกน “ชุมชนอารมณด ี บา นผารงั หมี”

Baan Pha Rang Mhee is a small village,
surrounded by limestone mountains, that still
maintains its traditions, cultures, folk wisdom
and their Isan way of life. The village community
is strong and the people over there live their
lives simply by applying the philosophy of
sufficiency economy. Hence, it is considered
a sufficiency economy learning hub which also
covers Isan arts and cultures under the slogan
"Baan Pha Rang Mhee - The Good-Natured
Community."
