John Dillon Fillmore was born in Canoga
Park, California in 1951 and studied art at
The Art Center College of Design in
Pasadena, California where he received his
Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1973. Fillmore
received the Hubbard Art Award for
Excellence in 1991. The Redfern Gallery
recognized Fillmore’s unique style and
talent and is proud to present this
astounding collection of remarkable oil and
watercolor paintings. Fillmore is known for
the exquisite detail in his work. His distinct
style of realism is an investment in time.

Each one is a masterpiece patiently and skillfully composed, filled with a
multitude of color, made up of tiny dots of paint in a style known as
pointillism. These timeless paintings epitomize the importance of the universal
language of realism. Fillmore’s compelling vision captures the essence of a
certain mood. Each one engaging and drawing us into a poignant moment in
time. As one viewer described,

“… at first glance, one almost must remind themselves that they are looking at a painting,
and not a window through which a demure figure rests between the delicate confines of
light and space. It is as if at any moment, the subject will peer back at the viewer and with
that movement, breaking the silence they are committed to by brush and canvas."
