Our coastlines shaped by the drift of great glaciers thousands of years ago was responsible for the unique coastal shape of New England and multitude of small islands just off our coast. There are hundreds of Islands off New England’s coast, most are uninhabited small islands that have access only by private watercraft, some of

Cuttyhunk The Elizabeth Islands are a small group of islands that extend south- west from Cape Cod and sit just north of Martha's Vineyard. The island group consists of about nine main islands which are sur- rounded by Buzzards Bay to the north and Vineyard Sound to the south. Cuttyhunk is one of the only Elizabeth Islands, not owned by the Forbes family, and has accessible to the public.
