Monday, April 28, to honor frontline COVID-19
responders and essential workers. However, the town of Somers made a somber call this week when
Somers Parks and Recreation Superintendent Steven Ralston an-
nounced that Tusker Trax and day camp programs are canceled.

He said the decision came after signi cant discussion and review
of the ever-changing guidelines put in place by the CDC, New York
State and Westchester County.

“Although it is hard to imagine a summer without camps, noth-
ing is more important to us than the health, safety, and welfare of
our residents, sta and the partners with whom we work,” wrote
Ralston. “Current and reasonably anticipated social distancing re-
quirements for the summer would be impossible to enforce in the
camp setting and would also prevent almost every traditional camp
activity.”

With an uncertain future, most camps are preparing for summer
as usual while knowing that any day now, news from the Depart-
ment of Health or CDC could determine the fate of their opera-
tions.

What is Social Distancing?

Social Distancing is one of the most effective ways to avoid coronavirus infection. It simply means
avoiding crowded settings, mass gatherings and maintaining a 6-foot distance from others when possible.
We know that this may mean missing an event you’ve been looking forward to, or breaking your weekly
routine, but it will also protect you and those around you.
Northwell Health is built for situations just like this
and we’ll continue to share facts and tips in the
days to come. Because knowledge is contagious too.

To solve a sudoku, the numbers 1 through 9 must fill each row, column and box. Each number can
appear only once in each row, column and box. You can figure out the order in which the numbers will appear by using
the numeric clues already provided in the boxes. The more numbers you name, the easier it gets to solve the puzzle!
