What Is A CIT?

The Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department’s Counselor in Training Program focus on
helping teens prepare for the future by making sure they leave with the vital skills needed
to enter the working world.

One of our main areas of focus with this program is teaching participants the skills
necessary to be successful working with children and becoming a camp counselor.
Through a hands on learning experience teens will get the chance to plan and implement
camp activities for various age groups.

In addition over the course of each session participants will learn how to write a
professional resume, practice interview techniques and gain valuable leadership
experiences that will enhance their job marketability.
