Veterans Day Saturday November Hi all, Happy November! Hope you had a great month of October! This month I

AFB in Abilene, TX Oct. 20. Dr. Melinda Mitchell Jones, Sara Henly and I had
the honor of meeting Congressman Sam Johnson Oct. 18 as the TTU Vietnam
Center and Archives has been renamed in his honor. Dr. Debbie Sikes and Dr.
Patricia Francis Johnson presented a poster titled “Transition from Military
Healthcare Provider to Professional Nurse: A Qualitative Study at the Sigma
Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing 44th Biennial Convention in
Indianapolis, IN Oct. 31-Nov. 1. Team RWB Lubbock went on a ruck Oct. 8,
enjoyed the TTU “Military Appreciation Night” Soccer Game and tailgated with
TTU Military and Veterans Programs (MVP) and Veterans Association at Texas
Tech (VATT) Oct. 13, and had the honor of attending the “Night of Courage”
honoring 6 Congressional Medal of Honor Recipients and meeting a Gold Star
Family Oct. 27.

This year for Veterans Day TTUHSC will be displaying photos of faculty, staff,
students, and family members that have served. Please join us Friday Nov. 10 at
10:30am. Please see page 2 flyer. (Parking Map, Event Location Map)

I will hold Zoom office hours this month: Thursday, November 16 from 2-4 pm

Zoom

• This month I will hold Zoom office hours Thursday November 16 starting at 2pm and
ending at 4pm (CT).

• Zoom allows us to have face to face interaction for all who decide to attend. Also, it
will help answer questions that you may not have thought of and will allow us all to
explore answers and options together. Zoom is currently what is used within the
TTUHSC SON as the main form of communication. So, this will also give you a head
start and familiarity.

• This month I ask that you RSVP to my email [email protected]. I will then
send you an email with the link to join.

• To access Zoom you can do one of two things. First option is to go through your
application provider and download the free version of Zoom and follow instructions.
Second option is click on link from your computer and follow instructions.
