AALborg 2017

Startup Weekend is the most recognized entrepreneurship
event taking place in Aalborg every year. For the sixth year,
Kickstart Aalborg has been organizing this 54 hours-long
event, with the hep of the entrepreneurial community and
respected sponsors.

After months of preparations, the big weekend just passed
and we are thrilled to see all the positive feedback from
participants, mentors, sponsors and partners alike.

We would like to once again thank you for your support, but
also to give you an overview of what happened during the
weekend, what kind of activities we had, what kind of ideas
were born and what we are planning next.

In this document, you will find key figures of the event, lots of
pictures, but also lots of insights on how we did our best to
show our gratitude to you, our special sponsor.

Although it's impossible to sum up all the enthusiasm, drive,
hard work and hard fun during the weekend, there are some
numbers that can reflect some of what happened.

55 Participants

With 15 designers, 15 developers and 25
non-technical participants, there was a good
distribution, that resulted in balanced teams.

Mentors 12

Ranging from experienced
entrepreneurs, to technical savy people,
the mentors played an important role in
the development of the business ideas.

Pre-events

2 In the week before Startup Weekend, we
have organized 2 pre-events, revolved
around the structure of the weekend, and
how to deliver a great pitch.

Pitches 25+

Participants showed a lot of energy and
passion, and many of them had ideas of
businesses, and used the opportunity to

test them out.

9 Teams

With such a diverse crowd, we've seen some
really unique ideas, from travel apps to social
micro-loans for refugees, to a new device
that could save the life of many infants.

Due to the fact that 'Everything happens on
Facebook', our online promotion strategy was
based on increasing the awareness of the
event and its implications on the strongest
social media platform.

Some of the most significant insights of our online promotion
strategy for International House North Denmark are as
follows:

As it can be noticed, through our Facebook
promotion, 846 people were reached through the main post
dedicated to International House North Denmark. This is an
encouraging result, especially because the awareness of
International House North Denmark's presence on the
