CAPTAIN'S MESSAGE

TPC Kuala Lumpur OperatesAs Usual DuringThe
Fasting Month

Itried to go to the Club every day during the Muslim fasting month and found the
Club operating as usual. Although there were probably less Muslim golfers, there
were many more guests who decided to take advantage of the reduced golf fees.

Instead of going to the gym almost every morning, I used to go in the afternoon at
about 4pm and again I was very pleased to see so many Members at the gym.

Dato Mustafa Muhammad Ali I also noticed that some Members and guests who have booked tables for the Buka
Club Captain Puasa named Lambaian Rasa (breaking of the fast) at 7.20pm normally came early to
enjoy the atmosphere of the Club. I think what happens is that most Companies and
the Government allow their staff to leave early at about 3 or 4pm during the fasting
month and instead of going home and coming back to the Club, they decided to
come straight there.

I understand that the Club high quality excess food from the Lambaian Rasa dinner
would be packed for distribution to the homeless and under-privileged family in the
Klang Valley.

I checked with the staff about this year’s Lambaian Rasa and was advised that
there had been a very good response. On the first day it was open, there were
400 bookings. On the second there were 600 and on the weekends, about 800 to
1000. In fact, the facilities around the swimming pool and the tournament room
can accommodate 1200 guests. In addition, guests and Members may also make
a special booking for a minimum of 80 persons for the luxurious piano lounge at a
more economical price.

I understand some companies also purchased tables for their Muslim and non-
Muslim staff to attend the Lambaian Rasa dinner function which I consider a very
good gesture and in the spirit of One Malaysia!

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

“SharingAnd Caring”

Steven Thielke We are proud that throughout the Month of Ramadan, TPC Kuala Lumpur has
Chief Executive Officer again demonstrated our commitment to our CSR programme by raising funds
through the sales of the most popular Berbuka Puasa Buffet, in addition to the

with the Kechara Soup Kitchen.

In addition to being rated by the Golf Travel Magazine as the best Malaysian Golf

Smal Steps,Big ImpactThrough Charity

Kuala Lumpur, 13 May 2019 - Malaysia’s prestigious golf club, TPC Kuala Lumpur
has always been an active advocate in giving back to charity and the club has
established a close relationship with Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK), a non-profit
organisation for the Ramadan #zerowastage project. This charity project aims to
reach out to the homeless people of Kuala Lumpur by providing free meals as a
small contribution to ease their hitches. It is also an effective solution for TPC Kuala
Lumpur in helping to curb the growing problem of food wastage in the country
especially during festive seasons.
For one whole month during Ramadan, the Kitchen and Stewarding staff of TPC
Kuala Lumpur will segregate the high quality excess food from the Lambaian Rasa
Buffet Dinner event and pack them neatly to be distributed to the homeless and
underprivileged families in Klang Valley. This year a number of 30 TPC Kuala Lumpur
staff came together to KSK’s food distribution centre at Anjung Singgah, Kuala
Lumpur to pitch in the taste of distributing the food to those in need.

34

NEWS

The readily packed food from TPC Kuala Lumpur reached the distribution centre at
11.00 pm and a briefing session was conducted by the project leader from KSK. Each
staff has been assigned with a role to ensure a smooth distribution process with
minimal wastage on that night. Crowd started to come in around 11.30 pm and the
food distribution ended by 12.30 am.
TPC Kuala Lumpur has diversified its resources in making sure various community
projects are being conducted throughout the holy month. A “dining with a cause”
charity effort is practiced through the Lambain Rasa Buffet Dinner with RM 1 to be
contributed to charity with every purchase of the promotion.
In addition to that, free giveaway of ‘Bubur Lambuk’ at TPC Kuala Lumpur took place
on the second day of Ramadan as a token of appreciation to the staff of TPC Kuala
Lumpur and regular members and guests of the club.

Free“Bubur Lambuk”InThe Spirit Of Ramadan

Kuala Lumpur, 7 May 2019 - Ramadan is the month for sharing and Malaysia’s
prestigious golf club, TPC Kuala Lumpur embarked on a community project in
distributing delicious “Bubur Lambuk” at TPC Kuala Lumpur. This is a joint effort
between the Club’s Food and Beverages team led by Chef Abu Zaren Bin Bakri and
TPC Kuala Lumpur’s Staff Welfare Committee.
The preparation of “Bubur Lambuk” or meat porridge started as early as 10 am to
give some time for the porridge to cool off before the packing process began. A total
of 250 “Bubur Lambuk” packets were distributed starting from 4 pm and only took
less than an hour to distribute the stock.
It was definitely a hit among the staff, members and guests that took the opportunity
to get a taste of the famous porridge.
“It is part of the Malaysian culture to serve “Bubur Lambuk” during the holy month
of Ramadan and as a token of appreciation to the staff of TPC Kuala Lumpur and
regular members and guests of the club. We wanted to provide them with some
special touch of “Bubur Lambuk” specially curated by us,” said Chef Abu Zaren,
Pastry Chef of TPC Kuala Lumpur.

together will always be the best essence in cultivating a great platform of genuine
and world class hospitality service in the industry,” said Steven Thielke, Chief
